Hot Springs Hotels in Gifu Prefecture, Japan

Six months later, I returned to Takayama and stayed at this hotel for the second time. The service quality felt just as excellent as it did during my visit in February. Every staff member was incredibly friendly. The breakfast included a chocolate croissant that was absolutely delicious – I highly recommend trying it. Takayama in summer is so different from winter, but the warm feeling this small town gives me hasn't changed. I'm still touched. See you next time.

This hotel is super convenient for solo travelers, being close to both the train and bus stations. The room was incredibly clean and surprisingly spacious for a standard room in Japan – we could easily fit two large suitcases! The hotel's location is also great, close to popular attractions and restaurants.

We arrived by bus and walked to the hotel in 10 minutes. The hotel is conveniently located next to the train station. In the afternoon, they offer a welcome drink and dessert. The room is comfortable, but we couldn't cast our phone screen to the TV or connect a cable, which is a big drawback. We went to the private onsen: you can wash there, the hairdryer is better, and they gave us lotions and drinks (water) as a gift. But it was only for 45 minutes.

The hotel's location is unbeatable, just a few minutes from the Nohi Bus Terminal. It was super convenient for both our arrival and our trip to Kamikochi the next day. The old town is also within easy walking distance, making for a very relaxing stroll. The onsen on the top floor is typical of Dormy Inn – clean and refined. The hotel lobby also has a unique charm. Our child had a wonderful two-day, one-night stay, and we'll definitely be back, hoping to stay longer next time to slowly explore the quiet town of Takayama.

A very big ryokan with many different baths, private and public. The western style room we chose was spacious and comfortable. The outdoor is great for pictures taking. The dining room although not private gives option of dining with a window view or otherwise. My hubby left his wallet behind but the honest staff ran after him to return! A Big Thank You & kudos to honest staff 🙏❤️.

This hotel is super close to Takayama Station. You just turn right when you exit the station and look up to see it. The hotel charges a hot spring bath fee and a hotel accommodation tax, regardless of whether you use the baths or not. There's a self-service coffee machine on the 2nd floor, and we stayed on the 8th floor, which had an ice machine. The 9th floor has private hot springs, which require reservations. Right off the elevator on the 9th floor, there's a foot bath area, and this floor also has an ice machine and a drink vending machine. Takayama town only has one FamilyMart convenience store, and it's right across from the station. Personally, I think Maruaki is tastier than Ajikura Tengoku 😋

Magnificent stay at a natural onsen village. The most brilliant Ryokan you can imagine. Built at the beginning of the 20th century and renovated, all locations inside are beautiful and Instagrammable. Spent an anniversary here with my wife and had the best impressions of the whole trip. The Kaiseki dinner was above our expectations. The waitress explained everything, and we got a true cultural experience.

The assigned room was not the one I booked. Instead of East Wing with a mountain view, I got assigned to South Wing, not sure if it is a mountain view but definitely not what I expected (I will attach a photo). But generally, I still had a fantastic experience there. The location is great for me because it is near Shinhotaka Ropeway. The open air onsen was beautiful, I liked it a lot, and went every night. The food was fantastic too! I am not well versed with Japanese food culture, but basically it was the traditional course meal (only dinner) you probably will have in a decent Japanese restaurant. I am a vegetarian, the hotel is prepared for my diet every breakfast and dinner. I must say I am really amazed with their food culture and knife skill. Their front desk was helpful with my needs too like a nail cutter, plaster etc.

Amazing experience here. They have yukata for free rental so you can wear it in the hotel and when you go for your meals at dinner and breakfast. Full Japanese meal experience with multiple courses. They have a onsen for men and for women, but they also have 2 private ones for those who prefer to have more privacy and perfect for couples.

Everything was great. The staff was very helpful and the room was big. It has a stunning garden with a feet onsen and the private onsens are very nice.
