The location is incredibly convenient, right above Aomori Station! You don't even need to leave the JR station building. The front desk had a short-haired lady who spoke Chinese and had an exceptionally good attitude. The hotel is clean and tidy, offering great value for money! It's super close to A-Factory and the seaside, and there's a Starbucks downstairs and a FamilyMart across the street. The hotel building also houses a department store with Matsumoto Kiyoshi and Muji. P.S. The Akane-ya Izakaya across from Aomori Station was terrible and super salty – definitely avoid it!!
The room was a bit small and old, and there were a lot of locals. The hot springs were fantastic, though they got crowded the next day. Breakfast was plentiful, featuring local apples, apple juice, local beef, and salmon. The service was exceptionally good and attentive. Anyone who loves hot springs should definitely give this a try.
This is my favorite hotel chain to book in Japan; you can't really go wrong with it. The rooms are clean, well-equipped, and actually a bit more spacious than I expected.
It's a 10-15 minute walk to the JR station. If you're using Aomori as your base to explore nearby cities daily, you might find yourself a little tired after a long day, as you'll still have a bit of a walk back to the hotel. However, the surroundings are very quiet, so if you don't mind the walk, I highly recommend this place.
The breakfast is delicious, especially the scallop sashimi (I'm not sure if it's an Aomori specialty), which was so good I keep thinking about it... super fresh and sweet! The free ramen at night is also yummy and comforting after a hot bowl, even if it's a tad salty (but hey, it's free, so who's complaining!). On the onsen floor, they offer free lactic acid drinks or popsicles at different times, which are a nice treat.
One minor drawback: the washing machines and dryers are coin-operated. If you don't have enough coins, you'll end up buying drinks from the vending machine just to get change. However, this isn't really a fault of this particular hotel; most coin-operated laundry machines in Japanese hotels probably work this way.
I stayed here for my first trip to Hachinohe. The downtown area is quite a walk from Motohachinohe Station, which I imagine could be tough during summer or on rainy days. However, the hotel's location is excellent, being close to the downtown area with plenty of great restaurants nearby! They offered delicious apple juice in the lobby. The room was a bit on the small side but felt very clean. Breakfast offered a great variety, and everything was delicious, including the kaisen-don (seafood rice bowl), ika-menchi (squid cutlets), and scallop fry! The hot spring bath was also wonderful, but unfortunately, I spotted a cockroach and had to get out immediately 😭. Perhaps it's unavoidable with an open-air bath, but I really wish I could have relaxed in such a nice hot spring longer – that's my only slight regret! I was also delighted that the hairdryers in the public bath were Panasonic Nanoe models! And the ice cream after the bath was delicious too.
Aside from the inconvenient location, with no direct highway access, everything else was great. Dinner was delicious, though breakfast was a bit simple. The onsen (hot spring) was fantastic, especially the unique 'Golden Hot Spring' by the sea. Soaking in it while watching the sunset was incredibly relaxing. The only downside was the large insects in the indoor hot spring, which scared many women quite a bit.
The overall experience is great.
1. The room is very delicate, very clean and beautifully furnished. More luxurious Japanese-style room.
2. Facing the sea, the environment around the hotel is very good.
3. Complete facilities, private baths can also be rented if there are public baths.
4. The food in the hotel is very generous. Whether breakfast or dinner.
5. There is also a three-string performance at 8 pm. The performance of the old man is really great. Although he can't understand Japanese, he can be infected by the atmosphere.
6. One of the managers of the hotel is Taiwanese. Friendly and good service to customers.
This hotel is recommended.
We love the view from our room on the 7th floor. The free wifi is fast in the room, around the hotel, and in the restaurant. We had buffet dinner and breakfast included room rate. We enjoyed both meals. All travelers must added meals with their room because there is no restaurant or convenience stores within 10km radius. There is a gift shop and convenience stores located inside the hotel. We recommend this hotel; and we’ll come back again.
The environment is quiet and beautiful. The hot spring has indoor apple soup with a faint apple fragrance. The outdoor hot spring is very comfortable. The air is fresh and the room is spacious and comfortable.
The dinner is very exquisite and rich, and the taste is delicious, especially the sashimi is very fresh. I will come again.
Breakfast and dinner are divided into Japanese and Western styles. Dinner is very ceremonial, especially French food. The hotel is very close to the ski resort and Suantang Hot Spring, and there is a shuttle bus. The restaurant has a good view. It is very pleasant to sit in the warm restaurant, drink hot coffee, and look at the snow outside.
We stayed at Asamushi Onsen (about 20mins drive from Aomori downtown) as part of our 2025 Spring trip to Aomori area, and booked Tstsumikan Onsen hotel to stay for the night. The hotel location is great. I think all guest rooms come with open ocean view. No private hot spring tub in the guest room but the large gender-specific hot spring pools are open privately to the overnight stay guests from 8PM to the next morning. The stay comes with 2 meals. The food is good and the dinner was served directly in the guest room. The next morning Japanese breakfast was served in the great tatami dinning room, and the breakfast package even comes with free coffee in the gift shop café after the meal. The staff are warm, and the service is good. My recommendation to this hotel come with no hesitation.

Amazing
GGuest UserI went on a trip with my 20-something child and my elderly mother. I had forgotten to make a reservation for a pick-up from the station, but there was someone there, so I asked and they gladly agreed.
The hot spring had a large bath and an open-air bath, and the water temperature was just right. There was also a sauna.
The changing room was also clean.
The meal plan included one night and two meals, and the amount of fish, wild vegetables, bamboo shoots and maitake mushrooms in a pot, tempura, etc. was so large that it was almost impossible to finish, and I was very satisfied.
Breakfast was not a buffet, but Japanese food.
There was no meat, so the 20-something child seemed a little disappointed.
I'm sure there was meat at the restaurant outside the plan.
Most of the guests were middle-aged to elderly, and we were the only young guests.
I was satisfied, but overall, I got the impression that it was a hot spring for the elderly, including the food and location.

ZZhutoudabaobaoTowadaso is right next to the JR bus terminal, with a lakeside pier, cafes, and more nearby, making it very convenient. I'd read reviews about it being old, but after checking in, I found it quite okay. Perhaps I'm just used to those old-fashioned Japanese onsen hotels: traditional yet clean, with many elderly staff.
The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Lake Towada and the pier. The tatami mats were the most comfortable we'd slept on during our trip, with each person getting a bed so they wouldn't disturb each other. After checking in that afternoon, we went to the onsen first. We arranged dinner with the front desk at 6 PM. We had a private room for our family, which was comfortable. 😌 The food was good, and after dinner, we could relax and soak in the onsen again. There are both indoor and outdoor onsens. The next day, the men's and women's baths were swapped, so we enjoyed both. Breakfast was served in the shared dining room, with a wide variety of options. The raw egg rice was really delicious.
GGuest UserMy main reason to go to Ajigasawa was to visit the Takayama Inari Shrine with its snaking Tori gates. It’s about a tenth the length and size of Kyoto’s.
Found this ryokan by reviews in the area. It was a toss up between this and the nearby hotel; which turns out to be run by the same group!
The ryokan shows its age. But it’s very comfortable, clean and the service, especially by Noro who used his translation app so well, was impeccable! They have map of the property in English.
If you drink (alcohol), it’s available in spades! There’s unlimited snacks, water, soda, popsicles, coffee, tea and alcohol for guests.
The onsen is open to public, it seemed like the whole village descends after dinner to have a dip!
We spent one night: dinner and breakfast were excellent!

GGuest UserFor less than 1400, supper comes out for supper, breakfast comes out. After breakfast, each person drinks a cup of coffee or tea at the bar. The hot spring is free to soak. It is only 20 minutes away from Aomori by tram. I think it is worth taking a half day alone as a relaxing trip. After all, Aomori is very small. I live in the city for a day to see the House of the Sandman and my favorite punch card. Hoshino, why not try it! It's not easy to find a hot spring street that is not in the old forest in the mountains these days (in fact, the hotels in Asamushi are a bit scattered). Talk about the shortcomings, the hotel welcomes you free of charge, but you need to make an appointment or call after you arrive at Asamushi Station. You do n’t need to worry about Japanese if you are in Japan. Even more trouble. However, you can try your luck. Saturday's pick-ups may be intensive, and we just happened to get in the car. If you go by yourself, it ’s not as easy to find as the other ones. Yu Zhi Tang is next to him, and it ’s not easy to find. On the contrary, those who can see the sea are very eye-catching and easy to find. The room is a bit small, to be honest, but eating well can make up for some regrets.

Wweina123The room I booked is a duplex. It is suitable for three or four people with children. The living room is upstairs. Children like to run up and down. The hotel service is good. They take care of the pick-up and drop-off when going to the cable car and climbing, and when coming back and going to JR. The breakfast and dinner are good. There are both Japanese and Western breakfasts, and formal Japanese dinners. They are not repeated in 2 days. Bathing in the open air facing the vast snow is unique! It is worth recommending. I will stay at this hotel next time I go to Hakkoda Mountain!

This hot spring located in Hakkoda Mountain has a 400-year history and is known as one of Japan's three secret hot springs. The hot spring water flowing directly from the bottom of the bathtub is also effective for low back pain and atopic dermatitis. Soaking in the gushing soft water can relieve daily fatigue and spend a happy time. Please enjoy two hot springs: the lower bath, said to be a spiritual hot spring, with a temperature of 38 degrees, and the upper bath, with a temperature of 42 degrees. Even if you just want to take a dip, feel free to come.
