Homestays in Qinghai, China

The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, with easy access to shopping and dining. It's right next to a Wanda Plaza. The rooms and facilities are new, clean, and hygienic. It's especially quiet at night, allowing for a good night's sleep, so I, who have trouble sleeping, decided to extend my stay. Parking is on the street downstairs, and because we arrived late and couldn't find a spot, the owner came down twice to help, moving his own car for us. The owner and front desk staff were very kind. 👍 There's also a large convenience store on the first floor with a full range of daily necessities. The beef and lamb in Xining are amazing! Before leaving, we bought some, and the owner kindly froze it in the hotel's freezer for us to take home the next day. We were very grateful. Speaking of food, there's a night market downstairs that stays open very late. We arrived late that day and ate there. We found a small shop called ”Harbin Mala Tang” and ordered clay pot rice noodles and Mala Tang, both of which were delicious and inexpensive. My daughter said it was better than Zhang Liang's. While eating, we heard a story: a delivery guy accidentally spilled some food while delivering to their shop, so he went back and bought a replacement to compensate the customer. The owner of this small mala tang (spicy hot pot) shop told the delivery driver, ”If this happens again, just tell me. I can forgo the money the shop makes, saving you a few yuan. You only earn so little in this sweltering heat...” Wishing this little shop booming business! I think Xining must be a warm city, where we encounter one heartwarming scene after another. This was just a brief stopover, but I'll definitely make a special trip back next time...

The fact that this tiny guesthouse installed air conditioning was so thoughtful! Although I didn't need it late at night, it would be useful in the summer. They also had a Yuwell oxygen concentrator, which I thought I wouldn't need, but I ended up using it when I had a headache – a real lifesaver. The accommodation was a bit noisy, but with air conditioning, an oxygen concentrator, and a reasonable price, I couldn't ask for more.

The hotel within the scenic area was more than perfect than expected. The facilities were comprehensive and new. You could have the entire scenic area to yourself in the mornings and evenings. P.S.: First, get a ticket next to the parking lot, then someone will guide you in through another entrance. Room admission is free. Room type limits the number of guests. There's a KFC inside the scenic area (open until 9:30 PM), but other food options are average, especially the Chinese food. It's recommended to drive out for meals. You can freely enter and exit with your room card; parking is free.

A very satisfying stay. The room was warm, clean, and well-equipped with smart technology. The owners were very welcoming; we chose a room with breakfast included, and the owner provided us with a local specialty breakfast in the morning. There's also a camping and barbecue area on site. Qinghai Lake scenic area is not far away.

This is arguably the best B&B near A**qing. Nestled against a snow-capped mountain lake, the temperature swings dramatically between day and night. In the afternoon, the air is filled with the scent of yak-grazed grass. With few predators, the rabbits and rats on the nearby lawns have grown into enormous rats. The entire B&B has only five rooms, but the staff is well-equipped. The Sichuan chef's cooking is excellent. 👍🏻 The ******* dinner we ordered was also very good. The traditional ******* steak was a bit tough, but the meat's milky flavor developed over time. Environment: Located near the county seat, the B&B has a somewhat ”high-end farm stay” feel, attracting weekend visitors from nearby counties. There are hiking trails nearby, a small lake, and the B&B has horses where you can try horseback riding and archery.

This place is very beautiful, quiet and has a very authentic atmosphere! They also can teach you about Buddhism and meditation. I wish I could have had more time to enjoy the whole experience! The only drawback is having collective bathroom. Though I understand it’s a limitation of being hosted by I place which is originally a temple, it’s still a not so positive aspect. Everything else was perfect, especially the service and the food!

Very nice hostel/homestay - you won’t find a quality private room for cheaper in Xining and accepts foreigners without difficulty. Facilities are clean and functional and is well located near to the train station with many restaurants around. I can definitely recommend 🙂.

Walking Road Book Courtyard is a very nice place to stay, it feel to stay at home and not in an hotel and it's very close to the wonderful Longwu Temple.

I was full of expectations but a little disappointed. I booked a family villa with a standard room on the first floor and a big bed on the second floor. There are wild flowers and weeds around the wooden house, but the area is very small and you can't go down. Don't expect too much. Advantages: The boss is very nice and solves problems in time. It is a 5-minute drive from Chaka Salt Lake and it is very convenient to eat around. Disadvantages: The room does not include breakfast, the room has a strong smell of wood, and the second floor is very depressing. The quilt in the room is too thick, and it is warm when covered but not cold. The family members all sleep in their clothes. There is a bar next to the house. At one o'clock and three o'clock in the middle of the night, people talk loudly, which scares the baby and wakes him up many times in the middle of the night, crying non-stop. Our family didn't rest well. August is the peak season here. The room is very expensive and the cost performance is not high. I will not live in such a house again in the future. I will honestly choose a regular hotel accommodation. It is not recommended for families with children.
