A must-see! It's not just for kids. My husband and I are both 30, but we cried like babies at the fireworks. We went on a Wednesday, during peak summer season. It was crowded, but we were able to ride four top attractions. We went to the Shanghai Disneyland anniversary party; we got a ticket with a magic wand. We collected lights all over the park. It was one of the best days ever!

  • Tip: Ride this early because the queue can get long during the day

2. Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure

  • Vibe: Cute, fun, and mildly thrilling
  • Best for: Families with kids and Disney fans
  • Tip: This is a good first coaster if you are not used to fast rides

6. Watch the Parade and Castle Show

Watch the Parade and Castle Show

Sources: shanghaidisneyresort.com

The show usually happens in the evening, often around park closing time. On some dates, it may be scheduled around 8:00 PM or 9:15 PM, depending on the park hours and crowd level. Since the schedule can change daily, always check the Shanghai Disney Resort app or official website on the morning of your visit.

Beautiful hotel and 5 star accommodations. It’s only 10min walking to Disneyland. The grounds and rooms were the best we’ve ever stayed at. We had 2 connecting rooms. The bathrooms had a shower and bath wet room/tub. Breakfast buffet was also excellent. If we come to Disneyland again we will definitely stay here. If you want a tasteful hotel with old Shanghai charm that is not overly Disney but close to the park. This place is it!

How did I not discover this place before when I visited Disney?! Maybe I just haven't seen enough, but after coming back, I feel like writing a poetic ode to this place. **Accommodation:** It's located right inside the resort, less than 2km from the park entrance, and offers shuttle services. The architecture is Japanese style, the rooms are quite spacious, and the outdoor environment is lovely. **Front Desk Service:** The service was excellent. We arrived a bit late on our first day, and the cafeteria had already stopped serving late-night snacks. A staff member specially drove us to the convenience store at the park entrance to buy some things, then dropped us off at our room. After we put our stuff down, he took us directly to the hot springs. (Newcomers, remember to bring the bathrobes provided in your room! 😂 You can wear them after your hot spring soak). **Highlights:** The hot springs are Japanese-style, with separate sections for men and women. There are two indoor pools and two outdoor pools, about half a person deep. The water temperature is around 38°C, with the outdoor pools being a bit warmer. Overall, it's not too hot, so you can soak for a longer time. I went during the off-peak season and it was late, so I had the entire pool to myself! 😂 After soaking for a while, an auntie came to ask if I wanted a body scrub. This is a ❗paid❗ service, starting from 168 RMB, so I didn't try it. After the hot springs, I also went to the sauna, and then showered. The toiletries felt really nice! I got a cup of water from the dispenser, and it was surprisingly sweet. The changing rooms even had Dyson hairdryers and various skincare products. At the exit, there were free drinks, I think it was a choice of Coke, Fanta, or milk. The hot spring experience was just as good as places specifically for hot springs that cost 300+ RMB; it was very comfortable. Since we were going to Disney the next morning, we paid extra for breakfast. There were about three long tables. The noodles were delicious, but only a small~ish bowl. This is very convenient for people with smaller appetites.

Before the New Year, we went on a spontaneous trip with one child and one adult. The experience was beyond our expectations when we stayed at Xianshe Villa for our visit to Shanghai Disneyland. The environment was clean and tidy, the housekeeper service was warm and considerate, the auntie's breakfast was nutritious, and the driver picked us up at Disneyland safely and on time. The villa provided both the warmth of home and the services and supporting facilities of a five-star hotel. The experience was perfect. My child is already looking forward to staying at Xianshe Villa for the next Disney trip with her classmates and bestie.

The landlady is very nice and she helped us every time we needed transfer to Disney or to metro. It’s very close to Disney like 1km away and in village where all other guest houses are, (tho i think this one was the most good looking) she upgraded our room and let us late checkout for free, breakfast was limited but clean and tasty traditional Chinese breakfast. It was quiet, nice place and we had really good time and comfortable stay, one of the evenings we spent in nice rooftop balcony having some beer and snacks! Recommended!

This hotel's main advantage is its proximity to Disneyland. There is a bus stop nearby, but no shared bikes are available in the immediate area. The hotel's shuttle to Disneyland departs at 7:00 AM. If you need to arrive earlier, you will have to book a taxi online. The service was excellent. The staff were very responsive; when I needed drinking water, I could simply get it from the reception desk. On the first night, my room only had one towel. I messaged the hotel via WeChat, and a new one was delivered to my room immediately. I was also pleasantly surprised with a free room upgrade. The room was spacious, and toothbrushes and hand soap were provided at check-in. However, I was disappointed with a few aspects. The breakfast, which was scheduled to start at 7:00 AM, was not ready on time. When I arrived at 7, the staff were still preparing vegetables. The selection was limited, with no bread available. The options were fried rice, a boiled egg, corn, yam, sausage, yogurt, and coffee/tea. The porridge, in particular, was unsatisfactory as it seemed like plain cooked rice submerged in water. Additionally, the bathroom appeared old and was not very clean.

The lady is super friendly and helpful, but only speak Mandarin. no worries if you don't speak Mandarin as she will use the translator machine to translate it. She assisted me with the food delivery service and offered plenty of help whenever i needed it. The room was clean and comfy, with everything we needed. Free transportation to/from Disneyland , just a 5-minute ride. With this, we took our time to watch the fabulous fireworks at Disneyland without rushing to MRT or didi/ taxi back to our homestay

FAQs about Shanghai Disneyland

  • Is Shanghai Disneyland the biggest in the world?

Shanghai Disneyland is not the largest in the world. The largest one is the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. However, Shanghai Disneyland is the largest Disney park in Asia, with its first - phase covering an area of 390 hectares.
  • Is 1 day enough for Shanghai Disneyland?

One day is usually enough to visit Shanghai Disneyland, but it depends on individual circumstances and visiting plans. If you want to experience all the projects, watch all the shows, and fully enjoy the atmosphere of the park, one day may be a bit hasty. But if you make a reasonable plan in advance, focus on some popular projects and key shows, and avoid peak - hour periods, you can have a rich and fulfilling one - day tour. For example, by using the single - rider lane, arranging the visiting order reasonably, and choosing the right time to play popular projects, you can experience more content within one day.
  • Which Disneyland is better, Hong Kong or Shanghai?

It depends on personal preferences. Shanghai Disneyland is larger, with more rides and richer food, and it has the largest Disney castle in the world, as well as a more colorful parade. However, it usually has a large number of visitors, and the queuing time for popular projects is long, which may make people feel tired. Hong Kong Disneyland is smaller and more delicate, and it is easier to complete all the check - ins in half a day or so. The rides are more suitable for the whole family, and the castle is backed by mountains and facing the sea, which is very photogenic. The fireworks are a little inferior to those of Shanghai Disneyland, but there will be wonderful performances during festivals.
  • What is special about Shanghai Disney?

Shanghai Disney has many unique features. It has the largest Disney castle in the world, as well as the world's first pirate - themed park area, Treasure Cove. It also has the longest Disney parade route, allowing visitors to enjoy a more wonderful parade. In addition, the global first "Zootopia" themed park area has been opened in Shanghai Disney, which brings a new experience to visitors.
  • Can you bring food to Disneyland Shanghai?

You can bring food to Shanghai Disneyland. According to the regulations of Shanghai Disney Resort, visitors can bring food and beverages for their own consumption into the park, but food that needs to be heated, reheated, processed, refrigerated or kept warm (such as instant noodles that need hot water and self - heating food, etc.) and food with a pungent smell (such as durian, etc.) are not allowed.
  • What is the best time to go to Shanghai Disneyland?

The best time to visit Shanghai Disneyland is spring (March - May) and autumn (September - November). The weather is pleasant during these two seasons, and the number of tourists is relatively small, especially in March, April and after the National Day, when you can enjoy a shorter queuing time. In addition, if you like special activities, you can also choose to go during festivals such as Halloween and Christmas, when the park will launch special parades, shows and food, but there will be more tourists at this time, and you need to plan in advance. Choosing to play on weekdays (Monday - Thursday) is also more ideal than on weekends.
  • What to wear to Shanghai Disneyland?

It is recommended to wear comfortable and breathable clothes, such as T - shirts (long - sleeved and short - sleeved), thin sweaters, jeans or long - sleeved pants, shorts, and casual dresses or skirts can also be selected according to personal preferences. It is best to wear solid - soled sports shoes or other comfortable shoes, because a lot of walking is required in the park. In addition, you can bring a hat to shade the sun, and it is recommended to bring a light raincoat in case of rain.
  • Do I need to bring my passport to Disneyland Shanghai?

Foreign tourists need to provide a valid passport number or the number of the "Permanent Residence Identity Card for Foreigners in the People's Republic of China" when purchasing tickets for Shanghai Disneyland, but there is no clear regulation that they must bring their passports with them when entering the park. However, it is recommended to carry your passport with you, because in case of identity verification or other special circumstances, having your passport with you can avoid unnecessary trouble.
