When I booked, I specifically requested a quiet room, but the location they gave us was simply unbelievable. The room service staff were very good, I'll give them that, but it was so noisy. The soundproofing is truly terrible. I'm not talking about airplanes flying overhead; it's the constant noise from the hallway that's too loud, like a sports meet is happening right outside! It was supposed to be a family room, but there was no kids' club access, no app, and no screen mirroring! The bed was indeed comfortable, but what's going on with the air conditioning? When we first arrived, it was set to cool, but in the middle of the night, we woke up sweating because it was blowing hot air? Did you randomly adjust it for us? We couldn't even control it ourselves. The smart assistant just kept saying 'I'm here' but couldn't adjust the AC or open the curtains! Is this really a smart room? Only the cleanliness and bed comfort were somewhat satisfactory. The BBQ downstairs was both expensive and terrible!

The hotel room was spotless and very quiet at night, which is a huge plus for anyone who values good sleep – highly recommend it! The front desk staff was lovely; the lady at reception paid close attention to the notes I left on Trip.com and even gave me an eye mask. The location is super convenient for transport on weekends, and dining is a breeze with all sorts of malls downstairs and the old street right next door. Breakfast was also fantastic with a great variety of choices. I'll definitely pick this hotel again next time I'm in Kunming.

This hotel is located in the Duoyishu Scenic Area of Yuanyang. We chose a room on the 4th floor with a terrace, and the view absolutely blew away all other rooms. We had a vast expanse of terraced fields right in front of us, perfect for photos at any time, especially stunningly beautiful at sunrise – no need to jostle with crowds at the Duoyishu observation deck. The room facilities were pretty complete, including a huge soaking tub, though it felt largely unnecessary. The hotel service was also excellent; they contacted us in advance about our arrival and parking. Since the hotel is situated on a hillside, it's not accessible by private car, but the hotel provides a minivan for pick-up and drop-off at any time. There's no elevator, but the hotel staff were very helpful with luggage up and down the stairs. The hotel offers breakfast sets and also has an à la carte menu. I highly recommend this place for guests who want to enjoy beautiful scenery without having to get up too early or rush to crowded scenic spots. All the photos and videos below were taken from the hotel room.

The staff here are incredibly welcoming and helpful! They were super friendly and always ready to answer questions or solve any issues we had. I originally booked a standard room for my one-night stay, specifically requesting a clean, non-smoking room. To my surprise, they upgraded me for free! 🥰 The room was huge, beautiful, and spotless, with absolutely no smoke smell, which was a huge plus. There were three distinct seating areas: a desk for working, a two-seater area with a wall-side sofa perfect for takeout, and a comfy lounge chair on the other side, great for watching movies on the projector 🎞️. The bathroom was also sparkling clean (a germaphobe like me was thrilled!). They even provided disposable toilet seat covers, which was a nice touch. You could tell the toiletries were of high quality; my boyfriend even commented on the shiny packaging and how the toothbrush wasn't stiff and cheap like some hotel amenities (he said, 'Chinese products are really good!' 😂). The bedding was excellent too, ensuring a great night's sleep, and the surrounding area was quiet, allowing for proper rest. For anyone traveling to the high-speed rail station the next day, the location is super convenient – just a 13-minute walk! There are also plenty of food and drink options nearby. This stay was genuinely exceptional! Highly recommended! ✨

Just pulled up to the hotel and — plot twist — our room wasn’t ready. Shocking, I know. They’d just survived the Water Festival the day before, so the place was probably still half-drowned and hungover. The receptionist dude was an absolute saint. His female colleague, however… let’s just say she was clearly auditioning for the role of “Cranky Receptionist from Hell.” I’m 99% sure she was on her period and the other 1% was pure personality. Thankfully they upgraded us, which was nice. I never saw the original room, so for all I know they moved us from a broom closet to a slightly larger broom closet with a view. Speaking of which — the view? Legit fire. The room itself? Clean enough. Dry sink area: spotless. Toilet: sparkling. Then came the shower — oh boy. It started off promising, like a decent enough setup… until my girlfriend jumped in. Five minutes later the hot water ghosted her mid-shampoo like a bad Tinder date. One second she’s happily singing, next second she’s screaming like she just got waterboarded by ice cubes. I’ve stayed in fancier bathrooms in Mexican motels that still had bullet holes in the walls and more reliable plumbing. Breakfast was… breakfast. The kind of “basic” that makes you nostalgic for airplane food. But hey, they gave us more bottled water than a doomsday prepper’s basement, so points for hydration. We were only there for two nights — in and out like a cheap Tinder date. Would I go back? Big fat question mark with a side of “probably not even if they paid me.” ⁉️

Bringing parents to Mangshi for vacation, it is too wise to choose the Penxi Hotel, whether it is the environment, health, service, facilities, location are online, the elders live super comfortable! The overall environment is quiet and clean. There are many tropical green plants in the lobby on the first floor. You can feel the tropical wind when you enter the door. The room hygiene is nothing to say, the bedding is dry and soft, the floor, window sill, and bathroom corners are cleaned, the bathroom is also separated from wet and dry, and the cleaning is super timely every day. The elders are particularly satisfied with the hygiene. The butler service is also very intimate, the whole process is patient and thoughtful, the check-in efficiency is super high, the staff takes the initiative to help with luggage, and the caring recommendation is suitable for the elderly to play routes. Any demand response is super fast, and the whole process is very thoughtful. The facilities are particularly suitable for the needs of the elders. The room is super large. The house is equipped with a Dyson hair dryer and Parma water washing. The mattress is moderately hard and soft. The central air conditioner is not noisy. There is a large bubble pool on the terrace. You can see the Golden Tower and Silver Tower when you take a bath. You can also see a super beautiful sunset in the pool. The location is superb, the parking lot is super convenient for self-driving, 2 kilometers away from Shwedagon Pagoda and Yinta, and it is very convenient to take a taxi. There are also local food stalls at the entrance of the village. There are many categories. You don’t have to go far to eat. The overall experience is full. It’s right to live here in Mangshi!

Our stay at Shangri-La was truly unforgettable and exceeded all expectations! Before sharing details about our stay, we would like to give special recognition to several team members whose outstanding service made such a positive impact on our experience: 麦克, 小钢, Alan, 小罗, and 小雨. Each of them demonstrated exceptional professionalism, kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care. We are writing this review in large part because we hope management is aware of their incredible efforts, as they truly represent the very best of the hotel’s hospitality. Even before we arrived, the team created a WeChat group and warmly welcomed us, making us feel cared for from the very beginning. The service throughout our stay was exceptional. Upon arrival, the staff helped carry our very heavy luggage to our room and consistently went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and enjoying our time at the hotel. After check-in, 麦克 gave us a detailed tour of the room and thoughtfully explained how to use the oxygen supply, which immediately put us at ease. He was also incredibly helpful in recommending places to visit and things to do in the area. His advice, including reminding us not to shower on our first night due to the high altitude, helped us acclimatize comfortably and avoid altitude-related discomfort. We also had the opportunity to make flower candles during our stay, which was a wonderful experience. A special thank you to 小钢, who patiently guided us through the activity and even carefully packed our finished candles so beautifully that all we had to do was pick them up and bring them home the next day. It was such a thoughtful gesture and a wonderful example of the attention to detail that made our stay so special. One of the highlights was the beautiful property and the adorable animals on-site. Alan even took the time to cut fresh carrots for us to feed the goats, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the experience even more enjoyable. The hospitality never stopped, no matter how late it was. We returned to the hotel around 11pm one evening after a long day of exploring, and 麦克 prepared comforting hot dessert soup for us (despite it being past the time for dessert soup). It was exactly what we needed and such a memorable gesture that made us feel truly cared for. Another moment that stood out was late one night when we realized we needed extra towels and pillows. 小罗 responded quickly and kindly helped us get everything we needed despite the late hour. His willingness to assist us so promptly made us feel incredibly well looked after and was yet another example of the outstanding service we experienced throughout our stay. We were also especially grateful to 小雨 for helping us navigate a Taobao return during our stay, which could have been quite complicated without her assistance. Several other staff members also kindly helped with collecting my package. Their teamwork and willingness to assist with something beyond the usual scope of hotel services truly impressed us. As our trip came to an end, Alan kindly drove us to the train station early in the morning and gave us a warm send-off. It was the perfect ending to an already wonderful stay and reflected the genuine care and hospitality we experienced throughout our time at the hotel. The warmth, attentiveness, and sincerity shown by every member of the team made our experience in Shangri-La truly wonderful. Every interaction reflected a level of hospitality that is increasingly rare to find, and their genuine care played a significant role in making this trip so memorable. We are incredibly grateful for the experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shangri-La. We will definitely be back!

Even though it's a guesthouse, the facilities and service are excellent, even better than a hotel. The room has smart appliances, which I especially loved. The pick-up and drop-off driver was very thoughtful; he reminded us to wear more clothes because of the cold weather and even introduced us to some attractions. He was also super strong and effortlessly carried our luggage. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety, including Yunnan's local rice noodles. After checking out, they even gave us many snacks and water, which was a really nice touch.

XXianggenichengnannannanHow to put it, Banyan Tree holds a special place in my heart. Everything is generally good, and I've stayed there before. However, the facilities are just so inconvenient, and they haven't been updated even in this day and age. Before going to bed, I had to search everywhere for the light switch. In the middle of the night, if I wanted to turn on the light, I couldn't find the switch anywhere – they were all so far away! If I wanted to turn off the light after lying down, I'd have to get up again. I couldn't even find the light switch in the minibar area before bed, so I had to sleep with the light on. When I woke up and wanted to lie in bed to admire the snow-capped mountains, I had to get up to open the curtains (or rather, the door panels). Entering the main gate was a struggle; the villa's main gate is so old and worn out it's hard to open! And that surround around the bed is so anti-human. Should I step on it or not when getting into bed? If I don't step on it, it's a bit of a reach to get in. But if I do step on it, surely many people have stepped on it, and you can't wash fabric coverings after every guest, right? With these surrounds all around the bed, I couldn't even sit on the edge of the bed! Plus, the staff weren't very proficient; it took half an hour for check-in (and I was the only guest). Although the price has dropped, it's still over 2000 [yuan]. Honestly, being in the room felt like one word: tiring. It felt like I was constantly circling the room, looking for this and that… I'd take off my clothes and not know where to put them, and then the next day I'd have to remember where I put them.

YYappariStory✨ Overall Impression Stepping into the hotel, the lobby's design immediately gives you that ”the vacation has begun” feeling. The wooden structures combined with Southeast Asian-style decor – statues, elephant ornaments, and warm lighting – create a gentle, slightly exotic ambiance. It's understated but rich in detail. 🍽️ Dining Experience The hotel's buffet area focuses on ”Yunnan specialty cuisine,” with meticulous attention paid to both plate presentation and space design. The open-plan counters are neat and clean, offering a wide variety of choices. While featuring local flavors, it also caters to different tastes. Overall, it's above average – not stunning, but comfortable and diverse. 🛏️ Room Experience The rooms are spacious and well-laid out, exuding the relaxed vibe of a resort hotel. 🛋️ Features a separate lounge area and a balcony. 🌿 The outdoor terrace is perfect for relaxing in the morning or evening. 🛁 The bathroom is fully equipped with a separate wet/dry area and a bathtub. The overall style is natural and warm, with wood and soft lighting making it easy to unwind. However, upon closer inspection, some facilities show a bit of age, though they are still maintained in a comfortable condition. 🌴 Environment and Facilities The hotel feels more like a resort-style hot spring hotel than a purely business hotel. 🌳 Spacious outdoor areas with a resort atmosphere. 🚗 Luxury cars parked at the entrance enhance the overall sense of class. 🏛️ Richly decorated public areas, perfect for photos. It's particularly suitable for slow-paced travelers rather than those rushing through their itinerary. 💡 Pros Summary ✔️ Spacious and very comfortable. ✔️ Has a resort atmosphere, great for relaxation. ✔️ Diverse dining options. ✔️ Distinctive design, photo-friendly. ⚖️ Areas for Improvement ▫️ Some facilities are a bit dated. Recommended for: ✔️ Those looking to slow down in Kunming. ✔️ Travelers who enjoy hot springs + a resort style. ✔️ Guests who prioritize space and comfort. This isn't a hotel that will wow you at first glance, but it's a place where you can unwind and stay comfortably. In a city with such pleasant weather as Kunming, it feels more like a ”gentle haven” than a showy luxury.

AAnonymous User1. **Check-in Area:** The check-in counter, or front desk, was quite shabby. The computer keyboard was practically caked in grime, and don't even get me started on the sofa next to it – it looked very unhygienic. 2. **Dining:** The breakfast area was a bit cramped, with just four small tables by the street. If you're a party of more than two, you'd have to sit separately, or you might even have to stand and wait for a table. The coffee, however, was good. I only had breakfast once: a cold quinoa salad (see Photo 6) served with bread that had an overpowering artificial creamer flavor. I had been looking forward to the rice noodles for the next day, but serving didn't start until 8:30 AM, which was far too late for my rumbling stomach. Early risers and those who prefer hot meals should seriously consider other options or make alternative arrangements. 3. **Room (2nd floor) - Noise Issues:** Don't even think about getting any sleep at night. After 11 PM, there was still noise along the street, along with the clanging of the garbage truck. (Seriously, I'd strongly advise against staying in the Old Town.) The next day, it started pouring before dawn, and the sound of the heavy rain kept me awake as well. 4. **Room - Facility Issues:** The room I stayed in was supposedly the quietest in the entire hotel. It featured a large bathtub and a bathroom where the toilet and shower area lacked wet/dry separation. Unable to deal with the wet floor, I decided to shower in the bathtub. That's when I discovered Problem #1: the glass partition was completely transparent, with no curtain or frosted glass. The staff member claimed this was 'design.' Then came Fatal Problem #2: the bathtub had no running water, haha! 😄 5. **Room - Odor Issues:** Upon entering, there was a strong musty smell. The staff claimed it was due to 'raw wood,' but it's been 8 years and it still smells like that? Quite amusing. 6. **Staff (Pre-Check-in):** Before I even checked in, they asked me to cancel my booking on the platform and pay them privately for a discounted rate. I have this in writing. This is definitely a huge red flag, and I'm surprised they even dared to suggest it. 7. **Staff (General):** The individuals themselves were nice enough, but I was surprised to find that all the 'Jixiashan' staff were quite young, without uniforms, and seemingly without direct supervision, which gave a very disorganized and casual impression. 8. **Housekeeping:** I was quite satisfied with the housekeeping. Seeing the clean duvet and towels gave me peace of mind (P.S. the pillows were also comfortable). The hotel's facilities are very old; no matter how clean the bathroom tiles were, they still looked run-down, compounded by the dim lighting. Therefore, I feel the housekeeping staff here really have a tough job. 9. **Building Structure:** One morning, during a heavy downpour, when I opened my 2nd-floor room door, the entrance was essentially flooded up to my heels. It was quite a feat that the water didn't spread into the room. At night, there were no lights, so I had to grope my way back to the room along the dark corridor. It would be quite difficult for someone who doesn't remember their way (see Photos 1-2). 10. **Hotel Amenities:** One night, I heard the guest next door return, unable to open their door with the key, and had to call a staff member for help. They chatted for a bit outside the door before the staff member finally told the guest a 'trick': 'The key needs to be inserted a certain way, and the lock has a particular mechanism...' That's quite a struggle – needing a special technique just to get back to your room! 11. **Minor Details:** The room key had a very large, bulky leather tag attached to it. Absolutely no consideration for travelers on long journeys with limited luggage space. Who would want to carry such a bulky thing around? I originally had high hopes for the 'Jixiashan' brand. When I was in Shangri-La, I heard their Meili store had a collaboration with Kolon, which made me think they had good taste. This Dali Ancient City location is their first store, but it turned out to be such a low standard. Given the daily rate, I guess I understand why. This particular store cannot be found on 'Jixiashan's' mini-program; it's categorized under 'Wang Shenme Chuan Qu Le'.

Aalenxu2We stayed in a Pullman villa, which was incredibly spacious and came with its own private courtyard, offering a very tranquil experience. The hotel provides golf cart service for villa guests; a quick call to the front desk and a cart arrives within 2-3 minutes – very convenient. The hotel package also included afternoon tea, which was of excellent quality, truly five-star standard without any shortcuts. The only drawback is that because the hotel has been open for a while, some of the hardware facilities around the property are showing wear and tear, which detracts from the aesthetics. We even skipped the complimentary travel photography for this reason. I'd suggest they gradually upgrade these facilities.

RritsukaginnTo sum it up: I really liked the hotel. The service was excellent, but the facilities were a bit lacking. Pros: 1. The service was impeccable; all the housekeepers were wonderful. They were very responsive to requests and handled everything with great emotional intelligence. However, since all the hotels I've stayed at in Yunnan this trip have had exceptional service, I've almost gotten used to it... 2. The room truly had everything: chargers, wireless chargers, a coffee machine, kettle, and tea set. The tea leaves were pretty good too. All the amenities you'd expect in other hotels, and then some, were available – very comprehensive. 3. The overall ambiance was very comfortable. I only found out after checking in that the hotel has been open for over a decade! You wouldn't be able to tell at all! It's very well-maintained. I traveled with my parents, and we stayed in two separate bungalows. They were very satisfied. Cons: 1. The soundproofing of the building itself isn't great. I stayed on the first floor. If there was anyone upstairs, I could clearly hear footsteps and water running. It was quite frustrating, especially since I chose this hotel specifically for a quiet night's sleep... and it seems the deluxe rooms are all on the first floor... 2. The house design is nice to look at, but it completely overlooks practical living flow. For example, the place for slippers is at the very back of the room. So, I had to walk across the room in my dirty shoes to get to the slippers... what was the point of changing slippers then? The room floor just got dirty. The placement of the sink and faucet was also odd; water would splash all over the mirror... It's a real shame. Overall, it's a great place. But if the soundproofing issue can't be resolved, I probably won't stay again. Hardware issues like this (especially the noise between floors) are likely not something that can be fixed in the short term.

GGuest UserThis was the best hotel of my whole trip. I don’t speak Chinese, but communicating on WeChat worked perfectly, so everything was very easy. The staff were honestly amazing — super kind, patient, and always ready to help. You can really feel how much they care. They provided free pick-up from the station, which helped us a lot since we had big luggage. The roads in Lijiang Old Town are quite small, so this made everything much more convenient. The location is also great, easy to walk everywhere in the old town. On my last day I had to leave very early, and they even prepared a takeaway breakfast for me. At night, they also gave us warm milk, which was such a nice and thoughtful touch. I just want to say thank you to all the staff. They made my stay really special. This is actually my first time writing a hotel review, and I truly mean it. Highly recommend staying here.

GGuest UserI rarely write reviews, but I simply couldn't resist for this hotel – it's absolutely exceptional in every single aspect. The complimentary airport and train station transfers are a huge plus, and the service is incredibly warm and enthusiastic. They proactively help with all your luggage, big or small. The transfer vehicles are also very comfortable and spotless. Upon check-in, everything in the room is free except for the red wine – instant noodles, drinks, beer, water, coffee, yogurt, and Yunnan black tea are all complimentary. They bring a generous amount of fresh fruit daily, and there's 24-hour rice noodle service, which is a lifesaver for anyone not accustomed to local food; you'll never go hungry. Every evening, there's also tremella soup available. The front desk even has complimentary snacks, fruits, and flower cakes for guests to enjoy. And the room itself? Speechless. The videos and photos on their website are an exact, 1:1 representation of the actual rooms – absolutely no photo trickery. What you see is precisely what you get. The room is impeccably clean, and the array of amenities is extensive. My parents are usually quite picky about hotels, but they absolutely adored this one, praising everything from the room facilities to the balcony views and the spaciousness of the suite. They insisted that on their next trip to Dali, they must stay here again. And most importantly, the staff – from the front desk to the transfer drivers, the F&B team, the ladies who help with luggage, the gentlemen who deliver rice noodles and tremella soup at night, and the three cleaning ladies – everyone is incredibly polite, enthusiastic, and friendly. The owner of this hotel is truly fortunate to have assembled such a fantastic team. The hotel's location, combined with the suite facilities and the wonderful staff, makes for a top-tier experience. I wholeheartedly recommend that everyone visiting Dali *must* stay at this hotel at least once – it's absolutely worth every penny!

GGuest UserThis was my second time staying at this hotel, and it was just as great as my first visit. On both occasions, the staff kindly upgraded our room due to availability, which was a really pleasant surprise. We ended up with larger rooms that were even more comfortable and enjoyable to stay in. The room was clean and very comfortable, making the overall stay very relaxing. I also appreciated that the room looked almost exactly like the photos shown on the Trip.com website—no unpleasant surprises at all. What stood out the most was the staff. They were consistently friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, which made the experience even better. Would definitely return again!

GGuest UserThis guesthouse is located right in the heart of Nanping Street, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. You can walk straight to Kunming Old Street, and there are tons of great food options nearby, so exploring and dining out is a breeze. The property itself is a charming old-style courtyard, with a second floor featuring a terrace and a tea room. The atmosphere is quiet and cozy, perfect for relaxing, unwinding, and just chilling out. Plus, there are seven gentle and adorable cats, plus a dog, which the kids absolutely loved—it's a truly immersive cat-petting experience! The service was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. In the evenings, the butler even brought complimentary milk. When my child's shoes accidentally got wet, the staff proactively offered to dry them. Any requests we had during our stay were promptly handled, and the overall experience was excellent. Just a heads-up: the building is an old structure with only stairs and no elevator, so if climbing stairs is an issue for you, you might want to reconsider. The soundproofing in the rooms is a little bit thin, but the owner thoughtfully provides earplugs. Considering the location, ambiance, and service, it offers fantastic value for money and is definitely worth a stay!
