Beach Hotels in Galicia, Spain

I put you 1 star because I can't put you 0. I called and I received a reservation of July date, as they assured you did not have the open agenda. I called again two days later to extend from 3 to 4 people, and they told me that the reservations do not exist. We sent back the reservation mail and they called us excuse, assured us that the reservation does not exist but did it by mistake. After weeks, I found out for myself that the agenda was already open on the internet and the prices were. They had not warned us. When they called, they don't want to explain why the agenda was open without having communicated anything. We were given a disordersed budget (nearly € 600 for two nights), when they offered a much lower price on the internet. The lady who attended us again cried and recriminated that we did not take into account the fact that they changed the reservation system. I ask for the data for the complaint sheet and they are dedicated to shouting and telling me that they have to take care of many people today. We expect to receive the data for the complaint, if not, we will go directly to consumption. We expect much more from this hotel. A disappointment and a disappointing public attention.

Bathroom vent full of thick dust and fluff and had to insist that they clean it. Scandinavia type furniture which didn't really work with the pink marble floors. Bed was comfy. Reception helpful and pleasant. Would have had the New year gala dinner in the associated restaurant but at the asking price of 250 euros per person no way. Tremendous promotion of Vigo for Christmas and the illuminations from the Mayor of Vigo but absolutely not geared for tourism. 1st of January and everything closed. Definitely not recommend in winter.

The food in La Cluña is really very good. The hotel is a veteran four-star in the town. I live in a suite. The room is very big. Because it is late in the evening, I am not happy to go out to find a restaurant and have dinner at the hotel. There is no one in the restaurant, the food in the restaurant is very good.

Pluses We stayed a wonderful four weeks in this lovely hotel from late July to late August 2022 , using it as a home base for extensive travel around western Galicia. Staff were very responsive and helpful. No request was too much trouble for them. Excellent estuary views on the side facing the ria and partial estuary views on side facing car park. Good, varied breakfast available. Attractive bar with light meals inside facing car park at back of hotel. Main restaurant and Bistro face the ria. Rooms comfortable and pleasant with excellent views from 'internal' glazed balcony with wall-to-wall picture windows. Outdoor pool area facing the ria was well tended with different seating areas. It opens late and closes late by UK standards as it stays light until late in this part of Spain. Bar service available round the pool. Generally, cleaning was good throughout. Staff wore masks. Minus Indoor Spa pool was payment only. I did not use ot as tge weatger was mostly very goid so used tge putdoor pool. It looked pleasant. Was not very big and every time I asked the price at the Spa reception I was told a different answer. It might have been a language problem. I could not see the price prominently displayed but perhaps it was written somewhere in Spanish. Reception had told me to ask at the Spa reception. The dining tables by the pool are for the restaurant menu only at lunchtime. No pool snacks available. However, bar service is available round the pool and there were two or three bar tables with seating next to the ria. Personally, I wore a mask in the breakfast room when not eating. Very few people did so aart from tge staff. I would have liked to see more bottles of alcogel around and disposable gloves to wear at the buffet for handling implements. Everytime I took something from the buffet I popped out to use alcogel or wash my hands before eating. There was no real outdoor area to take breakfast so I opened one of the picture windows a little near me each time to get some fresh air. This contrasted with the situation at the Makedonia Palace Hotel in Thessaloniki where we had stayed recently and where there was a bottle of alcogel on each table and guests had to wear masks and disposable gloves at the buffet.

For work reasons, I habitually use hotel facilities, and for emotional reasons, I am also the father of the deputy directors of two hotels in a well-known Spanish hotel chain, but for objective considerations, I must admit that Vigo’s This Pazo dos Escudos hotel is one of them. The top ten best hotel complexes in Spain have the best quality of facilities, furniture, underwear, etc. This is a real gem, and your property and employees have ”responsibility and obligations” to move on. Congratulations

I really enjoyed this place, it was beyond my expectations. The location is really beautiful, nested between the mountain and the coastline in a gorgeous setting. The establishment doesn´t have the swanky atmosphere of others but a rather casual and relaxed vibe. The facitilies are clean and well kept. My room had a nice balcony facing the sea and the views were fantastic. Simple decor and good beds. My reservation included access to the spa. Although it´s not brand new, its rather big, and there are lots of jets and so on. Jets are strong and the water temperature was really ok. The only downside is that your stay is limited, in order to allow other clients come and use the facility. One of the strong points here is food, not only the breakfast -even the orange juice- was very good, the restaurant service was fantastic, which is an important factor if you plan to go on a half-board regime, as the hotel is located by the road: there are some towns around, but you need to go there by car. Food was abundant, well cooked and presented and soft-flavoured. There´s also a beautiful terrace, ideal to enjoy the sunset views as you have a drink with your friends. Nice and efficient staff.

The hotel is deep in the residential area, close to the sea. There is a swimming beach next to the hotel. It is very close to the famous ancient Roman lighthouse scenic spot. It takes about 10 minutes to walk there with sea views along the way. If you go into the city, go in the opposite direction and walk to the old city center square and food district in about 20 minutes. The hotel facilities and bedding are very good. The greenery in the courtyard is beautiful and there are plenty of free parking spaces.

Estuvimos súper bien las habitaciones genial cama súper grande con terraza,todo muy limpio....muy céntrico el desayuno de buffet muy correcto y la cena de carta super bien la carne estaba buenísima además al quinto día te dejaban probar otros platos más como pulpo,navajas....pedimos una mariscada para dos estaba expectacular;pero tengo que recalcar también la buena atención y simpatía de los trabajadores del hotel pero en especial de los camareros estuvimos muy agusto como en casa...mi hijo se fue llorando no quería marcharse.por eso le doy un 10 y sin duda volvería a repetir lo recomiendo.

All very clean and central. Infinite thanks to the receptionist Eloy for his good work and diligence. We reserved the same day 23 and needed an additional bed. He helped us very much. Happily meet us with such professional people

However, we immediately knew that we would be unable to sleep with the busy road directly beneath us. Returning to reception, Iría quickly assigned us a different room and we were delighted to have been put on the top floor, a room with a wonderful view of the bay and a large balcony. Iría was also extremely helpful advising us of free parking areas within the vicinity. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a lovely walk in shower. Breakfast was more than adequate and we really enjoyed our stay here.

A disappointment, the magnificent location, the environment, the common spaces in the same line, the abundant and quality breakfast, but the rooms very, very, very below expectations, a lot of noise, old, not even a bottle of water courtesy or a kettle to drink an infusion that is in any hotel, uncorked walls next to the window and dirty ... well below a hotel of the same category, I expected much more. It would not be bad to improve the quality of the rooms because the price is charged as if they were up to date

Staff at bar/cafe very friendly and helpful The location is ideal with lots of bars/cafes a very short distance from the Parador

El Apartamento es un remanso de paz, ideal para desconectar y cerca de todo (playa, restaurantes, rutas...). El personal, siempre atento y amable, te hace sentir como en casa desde el primer momento. Una de las joyas de este alojamiento es su política pet-friendly. Aquí, tu perro no es solo un huésped más, sino un miembro de la familia. Recibirá mimos, atenciones y hasta alguna sorpresa especial. Perfecto si buscas un lugar donde tu mascota sea bienvenida y disfrute tanto como tu.

The bedrooms were very comfortable, clean and beautifully furnished. They include a small kitchenette with fridge and coffee making facilities. The spa facilities were also excellent. I’ve never seen so many hydrotherapy jets and jacuzzis in one hotel. We enjoyed the sound bath, massages and floatarium. There was a daily programme of wellness activities including yoga, Pilates, sound baths etc. The staff on reception were excellent, with an efficient and friendly check in / check out. The buffet breakfast was good with a wide selection of hot, cold and wellness breakfast items. The major downside was the restaurant and bar service. There were very few staff available to serve food and drinks, so dinner service was incredibly slow despite the best efforts of the waiters / waitresses. It is a short 10 minute walk to the restaurants in town so we found this was a reliable alternative option for speedy service and a wider menu. There are restrictions around pool access for children. Accommodation in building 2 has a large pool that is accessible to 5-12 year olds. In building 1, there is a small unheated pool for 5-12 year olds (very cold water even in mid August) and an aqua play area for small children. The other pools in building 1 are exclusively for over 12s. Building 2 is better for families as it also houses the kids club, but the differences between the two buildings weren’t clear when we booked. The styling at the hotel is eclectic. It has a unique maximalist style with an incredible array of colourful props and lighting styles in every space of the hotel. We found it fun, but not a hotel for minimalists. The Augusta is primarily a spa with excellent accommodation. If it can improve its food and drink offerings, it would truly deliver on its ‘relax’ promise. More broadly, Sanxenxo has a lovely beach and lively seafront with lots of restaurants and ice cream shops.

Since we arrived and went everything has been unforgettable ,very pleasant ,the staff of the weekend cafeteria the best I have found in my life after many years of hostel and the most similar to when I worked on the Cies Islands ,Super sympathetic and cosy John and Ana , along with the girls of the reception of that afternoon and next day , the spectacular and comfortable room with everything you need , and the most accessible and natural place I have enjoyed , Thank you very much for the service and the great price at these times of the year .We have enjoyed it from the bottom to the back ,Ribeira mola ,I wish the whole year was so good time that everyone could get there.

We reserved by booking.com and because we were going to arrive late, called to confirm two bedrooms, one twin beds and one double bed. When we arrived there was only twin beds availability. The point is front desk employee was rude saying they couldn’t guarantee double beds because they are high demand, and that he didn’t know what the lady on the phone said or what we understood. In the end, the twin beds are together! The cleanness and accommodations are good and nice. This is an example of a really uncomfortable moment for the client that could easily be solved with kindness.

Hemos estado unos dias por Galicia este verano, y nos alojamos en este hotel por la cercania a La Coruña. Se encuentra a unos 8 o 10 Kmts de la Capital. Lo primero que ya ”chirria” es que nada mas llegar , te hacen el correspondiente registro y te hacen abonar la factura integra en ese momento. (Imagino que de no ser asi mucha gente se les iria despues de pasar la primera noche, nosotros lo hubiesemos hecho los primeros). Llegas a la habitacion y te encuentras una maquinita de cafe de capsulas donde un letrerito te indica que si quieres cafe tienes que bajar a recepcion y comprarlo, me parece muy cutre que en una habitacion que pasa de los 100 euros la noche (en verano) no tengan el detalle de dejar unas capsulas de cortesia que no salen ni a 50 centimos cada una. Lo siguiente que te encuentras es que si quieres utilizar la caja de seguridad, tambien tienes que pagar por ella (en fin, otro ”detalle feo”). Ahora vamos con la climatizacion. Los dias que estuvimos fueron autenticamente horrorosos de calor. No dispone de aire acondicionado por lo que nos pasamos las noches de ducha en ducha. Otro problema añadido, las persianas del hotel estan por dentro de las habitaciones, de manera que si dejas las ventanas abiertas de par en par para intentar refrescar la habitacion, entonces no puedes bajar las persianas, con lo que para dormir una de dos, o te axfisias en la habitacion o a las 5 de la mañana ya estas despierto con la luz que entra. Vamos ademas a añadir que las ventanas estan relativamente bajas del suelo de la calle, de un salto se accede a ellas, por lo que si dejas cosas en la habitacion que es lo normal, no puedes dejar las ventanas abiertas para que se ventile porque a lo mejor lo que te ventilan es a ti es parte del equipaje. En definitiva lo dicho, para NO REPETIR NUNCA.
