Hi, all. It was a very strange hotel without any free water, or tee, or coffee in the room. All breakfasts were the same, without any difference for 10 days. Coffee machines didn't work. Special problem was to enter the room, because the e-key didn't work often. I had to ask manager to fix the e-key to open the door many times. Nespresso capsules which i found in the room costed 8 reals for one. And i knew about it only at the chekout. In the room there were no price list for coffee, but the price list for mini bar was there.

The hotel is generally ok, the room is small, the furniture is old, the bed linen and towels look like they haven't been washed well, breakfast is included, it's located close to the beach, Copacabana, 3 minutes walk away, there are many restaurants, shops and cafes nearby

The hotel has good facilities, the room is spacious, clean, beautiful and comfortable. It is well located, about 300 meters from Copacabana Fort on a busy street with lots of options. The breakfast is varied and tasty. However, there are some caveats: the elevator is tiny and old; the bathroom exhaust fan was broken, with no circulation to dissipate odors; the shower was old, with a faulty jet and difficult to regulate the temperature.

The hotel was wonderful, the employee treated us badly at first because there were problems with the reservation, I rented for just one person instead of two, then everything went well, the smell of the hotel was wonderful, the pool, the view, the room, everything was very good, the cleanliness included excellent we left and when we came back our room was extremely clean and tidy

The location is top-notch—right on Copacabana—with the highest pool on the 30th floor; unfortunately, the pool is very small, sometimes there are no towels; there are no changing rooms—showering and changing in the sauna is possible 😉 Recommended upgrade to super luxury, which includes breakfast in the restaurant on the 30th floor with a view of Copacabana—great. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi is a pain 🥹 constantly having to reconnect—much cheaper hotels can do better 🙄

Great hotel with a great location - besides being on Copacabana, Ipanema is also within walking distance. The room was very clean, and you also have great French cosmetics Lóccitane for hair and body. I have no words to describe the great breakfast, which was very rich! I am very happy with my 5-day stay here and would come back again.Free chairs and umbrella on the beach.Amazing view from the bar and rooftop pool. Most delisious coffe I've had her in Rio.

Great location, close to the beach and local shops. Highly recommend if on a budget and want to be close to copacabana. Only real negative is there online booking which doesn’t really accommodate non Brazilian guests. Tried to do before arriving, received about 10 emails to do this! And even then it would not accept without certain information that only Brazilian nationals have. And when we got to the hotel, they asked us to do the online check in too, which took 45 mins or so for them to realise there is a fault with it. And then checked us in within 2 mins.

The hotel has a nice location on the beach, but the property could do with some updates. The first room I went into had a funny smell, so I reported it to reception. The male receptionist looked at me, and as if he doubted my word After I insisted, he assigned me a new room, but it was left to me to move my luggage. . No support was offered and I couldn’t be bothered to ask. I did ask if there would be any complimentary water put in the room. He said he would get housekeeping to put some water, but I’m still waiting two days later. Power outlets in the room are limited and not designed for modern travel. No USB points. The TV is old and not smart or Internet connected. There are no cable channels so nearly all of the channels are local language apart from one CNN news channel in English.. The hotel is quite noisy and dogs. The walls are thin and guests scrape furniture across the marble floors. This is relatively easy to remedy if the hotel cared. The rooftop pool was disappointing as it’s quite small and normally full of kids. The restaurant is closed after breakfast. There is a bar, but it’s never open.. The biggest problem I had was the Internet. It did not work properly in my room and kept cutting out every few minutes. I had to stand in the corridor or come down to the lobby in order to get any decent coverage. I complained to the staff, but they did nothing and just told me it works.. This was extremely frustrating and I certainly wouldn’t come back to this hotel again.

Beautiful rooms and especially the bathrooms. Beds were especially nice - Firm with wonderful bedding. Very quiet. Felt like an oasis from the noise of Copa Cobana Beach. Delicious breakfast included in the room. You could order a custom- made omelet. The concierge hooked us up with a really great day tour as we were only in town for 2 days. Reasonably priced and saw a lot of things - Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mt, the stadium, Selaro Steps, where the Carnivale starts, and included a buffet lunch. Would stay again for sure!

GGuest UserWe booked this hotel in Nov at an inflated price of $1500 USD for 4 nights assuming there'd be rooftop access on NYE since the hotel website didn't call out a ticketed event for that night. When we arrived, the staff told us it was in fact a ticketed event for an additional $300 USD. Perhaps our oversight but we scowered the website before booking at such a high price and it wasn't there. The manager was very helpful in accommodating a cancellation if needed, ultimately we were too tired to pack and unpack again and waste another day in transit so we stayed and bought the tickets. Check in is 2pm. We arrived at 1pm and they said they had a room for us. It wasn't ready so we went to the pool where again, service was wonderful. Front desk gave us a tour of 2 rooms to choose from which was great, but then msgd me and said they'd have a diff room ready at 2:30. We went down at 3pm and the room changed yet again and the new room still wasn't ready. We got a room with no apologies at 4pm. The room was standard. Strong cleaning smell but decent. The shower hose didn't stay in place. The shower drain did not work at all - we had to kick the water to the corner each time for it to drain or pools of water stayed until the next day. The sink also didn't drain. The toilet stopped flushing. We had a plate with one chocolate on it from NYE which by the next day was covered in ants. We are very tidy girls and give some grace for older hotels to have some flaws, but the experience for the price we paid made us appreciate the airbnbs we'd stayed at before checking in here. Location is great, gym and pool are great, but not worth the $ for NYE or Carnival.

GGuest UserIf it weren't for the general manager Temborarli and Julia, I would have given it all 1's, but in the last 3 hours of my birthday, they managed to save the situation. I flew to Brazil alone to celebrate my 40th birthday and chose one of the most expensive hotels - JW Marriot, thinking that it was a cool hotel. But no. I didn't get any service or amenities, having paid a lot of money. I arrived at 10 pm (that is, the whole day was already lost, I did not live in the room) I had to live the night and 1 next day. My birthday! I go to the reception, tell them that I came to you to celebrate my birthday, I am a member of the Marriott program and have already spent more than $5,000 on your hotels in the first month of the year (I show the receptionist and explain that my birthday is coming up in 2 hours, my birthday is coming up), but (!) they put me in a room on the third floor, where you can’t open the curtains (!), because people are constantly walking past to use the elevator!! Even in the middle of the night! They are rumbling and making noise. Upset, I return to the reception and ask them to help me somehow with this situation. At the same time, I see that the room is dirty! Even the sheets are dirty!! An unpleasant man says, ”You have this room category, King room. I can't do anything. Well, I can find a higher floor.” (Was it too much to give it to him right away? A higher floor and a room not on the passage, where you can't even open the curtains, why should I run and ask!!!??? I already asked once: pay attention, it's my birthday. A birthday on which they give gifts and make surprises, congratulate!!! But apparently he is a completely incomprehensible person. (To whom I wish that no one congratulates him on his birthday this year). Then he offers me ”if you want, you can PAY EXTRA and move to another room with a different view” !!!!! I say: I DON'T WANT TO and leave. (I also wish this man a trip to another continent, the earth's hemisphere, alone, where he pays for everything, for everything himself!) My birthday is in the morning, I sleep terribly, there is no soundproofing, noises begin from 6 am ... and until the evening, until 7 pm I don't get a piece of cake, a card, nothing. (Although then I moved to the Fairmont hotel, where the waiters sang a Happy Birthday song to the birthday boy so heartily at breakfast!!! So never choose Marriott for your birthday!!! They will treat you very badly!!) I always travel for my birthday, I have already celebrated it more than 20 times in different parts of the world and in different hotels, and for the first time I encountered that I need to beg for something and remind you that it is your birthday!!! At the very end of the birthday, at 7 pm, I go to the reception and ask to call the general manager to say everything that I think about JW Marriott. Well, here Timberly moves me for 1 night to a room on a high floor with a sea view. For which I am very grateful to her. And for which I give high points in the review. And that guy who regretted upgrading so that the person would wake up happy on his birthday and continue spending money in the Marriot Bonvoy chain, and not wake up broken at 6 am because it sounded like someone was washing in his bathtub (because in that room on the 3rd floor there was unreal soundproofing, no soundproofing!!!!) I hope he will be fired!!!

GGuest UserThis property has the potential to be amazing, but it needs a few key updates. The location is fabulous, the staff is excellent, and the restaurant is great both in terms of service and food quality. The room was spacious, and the balcony was unbeatable. If you only speak English, you can get by staying here because all of the staff speak excellent English. We encountered a problem when the showerhead broke off, but the repairman came reasonably quickly to replace it, and he was very polite and not disruptive. We ordered room service, and Dom Rio, the hotel’s restaurant, delivered it quickly. I had the filet which was cooked properly to the correct temperature (medium rare). My fiancé had the alfredo pasta which she liked a lot. The breakfast had a huge selection, and everything tasted good. The only thing keeping this hotel from earning top marks is the general state of much of the decor in the rooms. The curtains look shabby and dirty from moisture, and the wood of the cabinets is warped also. It is very hard to maintain a room that is constantly exposed to salt water and ocean breeze, but the materials chosen have not stood up to age. I would recommend staying here if you are interested in staying in Barra at a nice but reasonably priced hotel, but don’t expect the finest luxury. Expect a very large, fairly clean room with a comfortable bed and an amazing view.

RRangziyouzhifengyongyuanchuifuThe room is clean and tidy, with complete facilities. The water pressure of the bathroom tap is low and the breakfast is rich. GGuest UserThis hotel is a great stay in Barra. Like a lot of hotels in Rio, this one is old. The place has some relics of the last century: the phone is old, the furniture is old, etc. However, it makes up for it in other ways. The service is excellent at this property. The breakfast is very good, the room service is great and cheap, and all of the staff from doormen to bellhops to reception are attentive and professional. The breakfast attendants are more professional than most local waiters. You will get excellent service here. The hotel is also very pretty despite its age. The hallways and lobby are large, and it looks premium. The location is incredible if you like Barra. We only stayed one night, but we had a decent side view of the ocean from our room, and we easily had enough time for a nice walk on the beach before check-out. Windsor Barra Hotel is a great value; stay here if you value service and excellent access to Barra’s beach.
