2 night stay for our first time at this hotel. So let's start with check-in. Not great. Just 2 members of staff, who didn't seem to be working particularly quickly through guests who were queuing up. Took about 25mins wait, which is not what you want.
The room itself, a junior suite, with one king bed and one separate seating area, was by and by clean, but this may just be down to the fact it is not regularly booked, so underused and not worn out as much.
The fixtures and fittings definitely could do with some refurbishment and upgrades. Mattress had no give and felt like a plank of wood, and the pillows were similar. The sofa was uncomfortable and sagged, as were the 2 small chairs, no cushions also. The curtains in both the seating room and the bedroom were on a pulley system which refused to budge and we're half open and couldn't be moved. Another fault we had to call down for was the actual wall/ceiling area on top of the main room door. The door would not close easily and needed a great big hard shove to close. On exiting I noticed that the plaster and wall around was cracking and the whole door frame was cracking. The reception staff sent a carpenter who came to look and said they would need to send a plasterer the next day. Needless to say no-one else turned up and the fault was still outstanding at the end of our stay. Neither did the cleaning staff hoover or brush up the growing pile of plaster and dust which accumulated each time the door was opened and closed.
Another bugbear of the room was the soundproofing, or better put, lack of any soundproofing whatsoever. We were subject to noise from the next door room all night, conversations and television sound coming through whilst trying to sleep. In the adjacent seating area, there was actually a great big gap in the wall by the window frame which allowed light and sound from the neighbours on the other side to come through. Very disconcerting.
The WiFi was woefully slow, to the point that we couldn't even load the qr code for the hotel services.
The shuttle service, if you could call it that, seemed kind of pointless if you're able bodied. It was quicker to walk. Literally a one minute ride on the way out.
My child was sick in the night and we needed a change of sheets for the bed. It took 2 phonecalls and then being put on hold and waiting 20mins, by which time I physically send down to reception to see what was going on.
There was supposedly a kids club on Floor H, which also houses the gym, but it was abandoned and was a bare room.
Ok let's put down something positive. The fridges in the room actually worked. The television sets were brand new slimline Samsung. But, annoyingly the actual channels and TV signal were not great. The lifts were fairly clean, if somewhat slow depending which set you were using. My wife commented that the reception area toilets were the cleanest she had ever come across and had attendants on hand to clean.
The car parking charge is also annoying, you'd think it would be free for guests or cheaper than the close to 75sar daily charge.
Access available cheap local food eateries, but may not be suitable for delicate constitutions. There are also a few shops in the hotel lobbies complex, selling clothes, prayer accessories etc along with a small mini mart for basic necessities, along with the obligatory barber shop and overpriced coffee shop/cafe.
Would we stay again? Possibly, due to location being not too far from the Haram and relatively budget friendly price. Would not recommend for older or disabled travellers as it would be challenging to get to the Holy Mosque even if using the shuttle bus. Just be prepared for a noisy stay, so bring ear plugs if you don't want to know exactly what your room neighbours talk about during the night.
Everything was great. Just could be helpful if they had a microwave… they were so willing to help, i would imagine they have one if i asked for it but still. Also, it seems as if fridge didn’t work.
Anyway, thank you all very much for an awesome stay.
Room is clean and staff is helpful and welcoming. A bit far from masjid al-haram but you can reach there in 20-30 minutes by bus. Buses are regular and convenient.
Surprisingly a decent hotel, a good value as room was spacious and with good furnitures. The size of the room with two beds is bigger than those room, I have stayed within vicinity of the clock tower. The lobby, the room and corridor is very clean and spacious. It is walking distance of 20 minutes to Masjidil Haram but on the way back, require a climb of as hotel location is on a hill. A few reasonably price food shops nearby and quite near to a local mosque.
Dear Elaf Qinwan,
Thank you for the hospitality for our short escape at Elaf Qinwan (March 20-25, 2025).
Our independent Umrah trip was truly more enjoyable by getting accommodation with quite good standards.
Amenities are sufficient, can request reload every day, change towels every day. Mineral water reloads every day as long as we diligently remind housekeeping when going around in the morning.
The hotel location is quite close to Harom
During Ramadhan, use 2x shuttle and everything is free. Shuttle Hotel to Kuday connecting shuttle less than 10 minutes then continue again with a special shuttle to Harom 5 minutes.
The check in check out process is very fast
Thank You Trip for this comfort Trip!
First time doing Umrah and this hotel was walking distance of about 10 minutes to the haram, and was not much costly for the 4 night stay for me and my family. I landed in the morning while my checkin was at 4 but the lady at reception was very kind to give me a room in advance. The luggage guy Alamgir was very helpful to take the luggage in the trolley and also helped with loading the luggage on my way out to Madina. The cleaning staff Salim was very polite and made sure the rooms were kept clean and also provided extra towels when needed. All in all, a very good experience for me and family and would prefer this hotel for the next trip as well.
The hotel has a very good location and bus service to Haram. A bus leaves almost every 10-15 minutes. The staff is very accommodating but you may have to wait for long times during checking in. Very rarely i found that the lifts are crowded. Rooms are of okay size and have good amenities. The washrooms are a little smaller and water doesn't drain property.
*************..Check-in smooth..Rooms and toilet in perfect condition. Have 4 lifts. Shuttle bus provided to Haram..every 10 mins.. My family had a pleasant stay at this hotel..
Hotel located 20 minutes from the Haram by bus. A shuttle system is in place with a bus that drops you off and brings you back at each prayer. Timetables are not always respected and the bus is very often overcrowded, which makes the experience quite trying. Furthermore, I regret the lack of communication from the hotel on the operation of the shuttle. Apart from a poster on the reception counter, no mention or explanation was made during check-in by the employee. I had to figure it out on my own to understand how it worked, where to drop it off...etc. I found it very unpleasant.
The room was clean but severely lacking in equipment, no kitchen utensils just a simple kettle. The bedding is very firm, will not suit everyone. During my stay, the hot water almost never worked, which is very unfortunate. The hotel is near a major, very noisy road, my room was located on the road side and the noise was quite disturbing, especially at night with the incessant honking of car horns, the sound insulation is quite poor. In summary, the quality-price ratio is correct, this will necessarily come at the cost of certain concessions.

NNurAs per previous review. For this booking, thanks to Mr Haitam for assissting me. I got a room near to the lift. Thank you so much 🙂 On average, i waited less than 1 minute for the lift. Extra 2-5minutes from the hotel to reach Kudi bus station by the shuttle bus. 6-8minutes walk from Kudi bus station to the mosque. Going back from the mosque to the hotel takes a bit longer time during peak hours. Overall, i highly recommend this hotel.

SSonila AzharWe had a nice stay in the hotel, service is good , staff is helpful and friendly, we didn’t have any issues during our stay. Location was not ideal, about 25 min walk, if you take shuttle, then it’s 15 mins to Harram. Road works still going but they tend to finish and underpass should be running in Ramadan which will then reduce travel time for sure.
NNordenHotel in a very good location, right in front of a shopping bazaar, everything nearby, next to McDonald's and KFC but also a d'ère restaurants..Aparthotel nothing special, just a little lacking in kitchen facilities, otherwise everything there..Service could be a bit better, I wanted to pay twice, only after I had called my broker and showed them my Paypal transfer did I get confirmation from the manager. So I had to wait with my family in the somewhat lavish foyer after an hours-long drive through the desert, there was no apology or anything like that..Never ever is my motto@@@@Miracle
GGuest UserEverything was great. Just could be helpful if they had a microwave… they were so willing to help, i would imagine they have one if i asked for it but still. Also, it seems as if fridge didn’t work.
Anyway, thank you all very much for an awesome stay.
SSalha.DriciI recently stayed at this hotel, and while there were some positive aspects, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. The food was definitely a standout, with delicious options that were well-prepared and satisfying. I really enjoyed the variety offered and the overall quality, making meals one of the better parts of the stay.
The room was decent, but nothing extraordinary. It was comfortable enough for a short stay, with clean amenities and a generally pleasant atmosphere. However, the decor felt a bit dated, and I didn’t find it to be as luxurious or cozy as I had hoped.
The biggest downside was the price – it felt quite high for what was offered. While the food and room were fine, I expected a little more in terms of value for the cost. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for something decent, but considering the price, it might not be the best option for everyone. I’d rate my experience a 3/5.
ZZaidEverything about the hotel was fantastic. The staff are lovely, and the location is near Haram, public transportation. However, I faced sort of a slight issue during the check-in, and it was sorted out in 10-15 minutes. The issue was due to payment as I booked and paid in advance. However, they wanted me to pay them and contact Trip.com to get my money back. I refused and showed them the receipt. Seems they are not used to the reservations with payment in front. If you do that, keep the receipt with you.
KKhadijahThis hotel was okay, like any other Ibis really.
Very closeby to restaurants and malls (by cab about 6 minutes).
Really catering to guests and offer tea & dates at reception, lovely staff.
YYexiaoyiThe front desk staff is very nice and can communicate in English. The hotel facilities are a bit old, but the price is very cost-effective. There are many restaurants nearby and it is very close to the beach. You can walk to the beach and see the Jeddah fountain at night. There is a big supermarket across the main road with a full range of things. You can buy zimzim water and ajwan dates.
