It was unexpectedly great! I thought it was just an ordinary room, but it was surprisingly comfortable and cozy... The overall design style is very unique, and there is also a steam sauna room. Highly recommended.
Great Stay – Clean, Comfortable, and Convenient
I had a lovely stay at this hotel. The room was clean, and the beds were super comfy. The location was great—close to the airport, not far from the beach, and with easy access to a bus that goes to the city. Free parking was a big perk and made things even more convenient. Breakfast was decent and did the job.
The only downside was the noise at night. The road can be busy, and a dog nearby barks throughout the night, so keeping the window open wasn’t an option. It would have also been nice if the room had an iron or steamer.
Aside from that, the staff were lovely, and the hotel was very convenient and well-maintained. Would definitely stay again!
It was an overall great stay. The room was very clean and had enough space for two people, though there was just a slight lack of drawers for clothes. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was clean and spacious, and the climate control system was excellent. Breakfast was enjoyable, featuring a buffet with various foods suitable for Europeans, more than enough to energize us before exploring. I missed having a gym or a space to exercise, but since we were exhausted at the end of each day, it wasn't a big issue.
Lastly, the location and transportation options were also convenient, with bus and metro lines just a 12-minute walk away. This hotel nearly reaches a 4-star rating—100% recommended for visiting Porto in 2-3 days.
Excellent hotel, walkable to the city centre and located quite close to a grocery store. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable, toilet was clean too. Friendly front desk.
A great new hotel only opened only may 2024 big rooms with big tv in the room able to watch Eurosport tennis you pay tourist tax as soon as you arrive no problem speedy service was a good price 35 pounds a night this chain opening hotels in uk in London and Birmingham this year will make the market more competitive keep up the good work guys
I would not recommend this hotel, as the basic amenities like providing water, coffee or just a water heater in the room were missing and they have very limited options for breakfast, it’s not worth paying €12.50 for just omelette and bread, and something they call cappuccino but there is no milk in it(they should have checked if their coffee machine is working fine). Not worth it, very disappointed.
Our hotel stay was good. The room was clean and comfortable. My only suggestion would be to replace the shower curtain, as it tended to cling to me while showering, which was a bit uncomfortable.
It is good because it is located in a place where you can walk to all tourist attractions. It is especially good because there is no stress of catching a taxi, and the breakfast menu is good enough for express.

Amazing
GGuest UserLast year I had the most wonderful stay at Menina Colina, and was excited to return. Unfortunately I now wish I had reserved elsewhere, as it has been nothing but a disappointment.
Prices are so much higher than a year ago, but I thought I got what was a good deal on the garden room. Turns out it is greatly overpriced for what is offered, as it has none of the exquisite design or attention to detail that the interior rooms have. It also seems to be neglected in terms of maintenance. The coffee machine was leaking, and after reporting it, it was made out to be my fault as I was using it incorrectly. I had to physically show a member of staff the leaked water for them to agree to replace it. I was really annoyed that they felt that they needed to demonstrate to me how it works rather than just replacing it immediately.
The next disappointment was that the room was initially not serviced at all, and no explanation was given. When you are paying $165 for a mediocre room (not even including breakfast), one would at the very least expect the bins to be emptied.
The bathroom also had a terrible smell that permeated the room, and mosquitoes were a problem too.
Management did offer me lunch or attendance of their fado show, but none of these arrangements fitted into my busy programme. I thought a small financial compensation would have made more sense. That did not happen, and nothing further was mentioned or discussed on check-out.
The final issue was the online check-out which they require. When I tried to complete it, my bill was for my entire stay, although 3 of the 4 nights had already been paid months in advance. So my conclusion is unfortunately that Menina Colina’s standards have dropped significantly, and that it is overpriced for the lack of attention to detail that is evident in several areas.
GGuest UserPros - Location - easy access to Porto downtown area (3 metro stations to Sao Bento)
- I choose travelling by metro as walking uphill and downhill in Porto is really tiring!
- Room size as well as toilet - spacious enough even for two people, facilities - I like the kettle for boiling hot water.
- Water from the shower very powerful and comfortable.
- 2 bakery cafes nearby for taking breakfast (with reasonable price), one Chinese restaurant nearby provides hot food.
Cons - Did not expect there was nobody at hotel front desk upon my arrival. With the help of a kind lady, I could communicate with the hotel staff
via whatsapps and was able to check in without problem. ( I would like to say thanks to that kind lady)
- No elevator, staying at lower floors is preferrable.
- the room floorings had a cracking sound while walking, may be the building was a little bit old.
LLilian TangThe hotel receptionist was very good and we arrived at the hotel very early on the first day, we were planning to store our luggage but the female staff at the reception was very considerate and said there was a packed room available for us. Breakfast was simple but tasted good and the coffee was good. There is a bus to Trindade in front of the hotel, but it is not expensive to call Uber, about 5 euros to Lai Lai Bookstore.
AabigailxjExcellent hotel, walkable to the city centre and located quite close to a grocery store. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable, toilet was clean too. Friendly front desk.
YYUWEII had a wonderful stay at Ruby Charm Houses. The host was extremely kind — he personally welcomed me outside when I arrived and also came to say goodbye when I left. He patiently gave me travel suggestions tailored to the length of my stay and reminded me of important things to keep in mind during my trip. The environment itself is beautiful and relaxing, perfect for unwinding, though unfortunately my schedule was too tight to fully enjoy it.
What impressed me most was the thoughtful hospitality: plenty of high-quality complimentary food, fresh fruit, drinks, and even local red wine were provided. Everything was well prepared with great care. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I truly appreciated the host’s attention to detail.

MMcClouds MumBest ever decision to book in this hotel after reading many positive reviews. Situated with the tourist attraction area itself with beautiful window view of the Douro river and Luis Bridge. We walked to all the places of interest and even walked across Luis bridge to Gaia. So impressed by the convenient location of this hotel that is closed to all public transport. Even though with all the restaurants and shops below our room, surprising it was very quiet after like 9pm and we had a comfortable sleep.
Many thanks to Diego who checked us in and allowed us to leave our bags to be picked up later.
Photos below were taken from our room window.
Will of course recommend friends or family to book this hotel

TTK^^Quite close to the airport, only 10 minutes walks to airport. The room clean and large. Really recommend who required to take the early flight to stay in this hotel.
GGuest UserBooked one night when we landed before picking up hire car and one night after returning car before our flight back. Staff are amazing, breakfast was lovely and served from 04:30, which was perfect as our flight was 07:10. Made the travel so much more enjoyable not worrying about delays and knowing we had somewhere to stay overnight right by the airport (7 minutes walk dragging suitcases)
