Moving on...We truly hope that you enjoy your stay in this updated 3 bedroom, 1 bath cottage with an expansive 200 ft shoreline on Lower Buckhorn Lake. It features pristine lake views, a brand new spacious floating dock, amazing sunrises, and some of the best fishing on the lake. Enjoy sipping a beverage by the outdoor firepit or roasting marshmallows on the open flames. There will be plenty to do and see on the lake with 2 canoes and a pedal boat. Bring your camera, nets, fishing gear and fishing license and sunscreen. Some assorted life jackets are available for use as well. Additionally, you are welcome to bring your own boat, nearest boat launch is at Sunrise Resorts.You can fully disconnect from the pressures of work, city life, and social media while unwinding by the campfire or listening to some classic DVDs or playing a board game. (No internet folks! Although we have good cellular reception, so no need to panic.)Although this may not be the biggest or fanciest cottage on the block, the property makes up for it with privacy, fishing, boating, camp-fires and amazing views, and its prime location - just 10 minutes away from the Locks and all the amenities in Buckhorn. Unlike a septic tank, which gradually allows water to seep back into the earth, a holding tank will “hold” everything that goes down the drain/toilet until it is pumped out. As a result, all guests must be CONSERVATIVE WITH WATER USAGE. Failure to do so may result in an additional pumping fee being added to your stay.Please read the cottage rules carefully.COTTAGE RULES- You must book for exact number of guests that will be at the property during your stay. Inaccurate numbers could lead to eviction or a minimum fine of $500.- After booking, you must provide a photo of the drivers license of the primary renter.- No smoking or vaping inside the cottage. Doing so will result in a minimum $1000 fine.- No parties or events.- No loud noise at any time especially after 11:00PM. Watch herons, otters and other wildlife off the dock as you sip your morning coffee or paddle to nearby Wolf Island Provincial Park for views of granite shores and the nature that surrounds. The sandy shoreline is perfect for young children; it is wade-in and very gradually sloped. Depending on the time of year the water can be weedy in parts of the bay however there is good swimming off the island right out front. If you have a boat or are planning to rent one, you can moor it at the dock. There are several boat launches nearby - ask for details if you are anticipating using one. Feel free to use aluminium boat, kayaks or the canoe provided.Walk out from the living room to the large deck where you can enjoy relaxing in the hammock. The entire outside area is flat, with lots of space for activities - a variety of outdoor games are provided. Wood for the sauna, fireplace or fire pit may be purchased at the Foodland or Home Hardware in Buckhorn (do NOT take wood from the surrounding bush, if trees are damaged you will forfeit you will be charged an additional fee).Kitchen is fully equipped with: microwave, toaster, coffee maker, pots, pans, utensils, fridge, and stove. Though the water is UV filtered from the spring fed well we use a jug for drinking water - one full jug will be provided. If you need additional water there is a refill station at the Home Hardware in Buckhorn.Leave the cottage in the condition you found it, dispose of all garbage and recycling (instructions and card for disposal at the local dump is provided).
