The guesthouse is actually located in the Tengger Desert campsite, not the address listed on Ctrip. It's about an hour and a half drive from the Drum Tower area of ​​Zhongwei city and nearly an hour's drive from the Yellow River area of ​​Shapotou Scenic Area. The guesthouse manager can arrange one pick-up and drop-off service if you contact them one day in advance. There are many campsites in the Tengger Desert; it's said that the owner of Pikachu runs the Pikachu guesthouse and tents, and there's also a Xinlongmen Inn about 200 meters away. This guesthouse is probably one of the better accommodations in the Tengger Desert. We, two adults and one child, slept comfortably with two beds and a tatami mat. Breakfast was simple, and we ate lunch and dinner at the guesthouse. As someone from Zhejiang who doesn't like spicy food, the chicken soup was delicious, and we also enjoyed the stir-fried potato shreds and stir-fried eggs with sand onions. There was a bonfire party on National Day evening, the atmosphere was quite nice, and there was a simple stargazing activity. During the day, there were camel riding, desert off-road vehicle activities, etc., which we also had a lot of fun with.

The guesthouse is located deep in the desert, offering fantastic views for sunsets and stargazing. There are many daytime activities available, including desert trekking and educational programs. However, camel riding and ATV riding require a shuttle bus ride to another area, thankfully only a few minutes' drive away. In the evenings, there are bonfire parties, fireworks displays, and a traditional iron-spark performance. Special thanks to our manager, Meng Yuanhao, for his prompt responses and helpful coordination of many requests; his service was attentive and thoughtful. However, there's room for improvement in the dining options. The dinner buffet was quite expensive, and the ingredients and taste were rather ordinary. Hopefully, the quality of the food can be improved or the pricing adjusted in the future. Overall, though, the stay was very good.
