Staying at this hotel for the Dragon Boat Festival holiday was such a pleasant surprise! The butler contacted us in advance, sent over a detailed guide, and the hotel's location was clearly communicated. Upon arrival, the front desk staff gave us wormwood sachets, which really added to the festive atmosphere, and they even had homemade 'ice jelly'. At breakfast, there were staff dressed in Hanfu offering local Dragon Boat Festival delicacies like fried dough cakes and date cakes, which were absolutely delicious. The room was very comfortable, the bedding was great, and there was plenty of space. We had four complimentary bottles of mineral water, and we could get more for free if needed. The hotel has both above-ground and underground parking with ample spaces. The exterior environment is also lovely with excellent greenery. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay at this hotel.

The hotel is very close to the Shapotou scenic area and is located in the city center, with many restaurants and shops nearby, which is very convenient. There's parking available at the entrance, and if you have trouble finding a spot, the hotel security will immediately come out to assist you. I absolutely loved this place! I’m writing this as a foreigner who went with 4 other foreigners for a special birthday weekend. First, the service. We have good Chinese proficiency, but those with limited to none will be fine. Most of the communication and coordination is handled via WeChat - which can auto translate. 东 “Dong” was our main contact. He rocked and gave us a real experience. He shuttled us in the sand jeep, gifted me a cake for my birthday, and was just an overall cool guy. Thanks! Second, the location and accommodations. If you stay near Desert Star, there’s a lot of people and campsites - that area seems like a bit of a tourist funnel. This area is located in the REAL sand dunes area. Further North, you actually cross into Inner Mongolia. The separation and distance is worth it. Makes for brighter stars and a more authentic experience. Third, the food. They were able to coordinate a whole lamb to be roasted for my birthday. It was absolutely extraordinary. The sides for it were some of the best I had on the entire trip - they have some skilled chefs there. This place has great reviews, and it’s worth it. I do recommend this to foreigners, and I hope I can return one day.

This Mercure hotel by Donghu Lake is amazing! The lakeside scenery is absolutely stunning, and the rooms are well-equipped and clean, with 24-hour AC and hot water. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows let you watch the starry sky and sunrise without even leaving your room. The terrace also has a great vibe and is perfect for photos. The bonfire, fireworks, and firework show add a touch of romance. The service is attentive and thoughtful; the butler was very responsive and quick to resolve any issues. The environment is quiet and peaceful, making it incredibly relaxing to return to your room after exploring Donghu Lake. Being able to participate in the evening bonfire party and firework show was a real treat!

We brought our kids to visit the Tengger Desert and Shapotou. The environment was great, and the front desk staff were very enthusiastic. We arrived the night before, planning to go out the next day, but by the time we got there, there were no parking spots left near the entrance. The front desk staff guided us to park in the underground garage across the street and even kindly reimbursed our parking fee the next day. That definitely deserves a thumbs up! The hotel's location is excellent, the rooms are clean, tidy, spacious, and bright. When we checked out, the staff gave us detailed tips on how to avoid common pitfalls when visiting the Tengger Desert and Shapotou and even gave us sand-digging tools. Both kids had a fantastic time. Overall, it was a wonderful stay with a great experience. Highly recommended!

At night, we could look up at the stars in bed and feel the vastness and mystery of the universe. The activities of the base are also very rich. The desert surfing car and sandboarding experience make people feel faster. The bonfire party and starry sky observation have enhanced the feelings between the family.
