Guest UserTraveling with a child during the holidays, we chose this hotel. Even before checking in, we received a WeChat message from the concierge with a comprehensive mini-guide, which was really helpful. The hotel itself is excellent; it's very quiet, perfect for sleeping. They provide kids' toiletries, all in single-use packets, so you don't need to bring your own, and they're very safe. On the second floor, there were some fun activities for children over the past two days, like Yellow River-themed painting, which my child absolutely loved and found very engaging. The hotel breakfast is also great, featuring local specialties like 'Haozi noodles,' and it runs until 11 AM, so no need to rush in the morning. In the evenings, on the third floor, they offer complimentary fruit and congee. If I didn't feel like going out, I could just take my child there for some congee and fruit. Overall, the stay was fantastic, and I highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed for two nights and tried two different room types: a log cabin and a lotus tent. The housekeeper's service is very good. He replies to WeChat messages and answers phone calls immediately at any time. It makes tourists who are not familiar with camping projects feel very reassured. The breakfast is very rich. During holidays, it is recommended to go there just after the meal starts, when there are fewer people and you can enjoy the special food slowly. The desert project package can be purchased directly at the registration desk, which is very convenient. The sandboard can be used for free and unlimited sliding. We stayed in Dongge Camp for a whole day. The next day, the housekeeper helped us contact Master Wang to charter a car to visit several popular attractions in Zhongwei. The half-day tour was not too fast or too slow, and the experience was very good. Recommended to all friends who want to camp in the desert and charter a car

The hotel is very close to the Shapotou scenic area and is located in the city center, with many restaurants and shops nearby, which is very convenient. There's parking available at the entrance, and if you have trouble finding a spot, the hotel security will immediately come out to assist you. The room was clean and tidy, the service attitude was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious!

Guest UserThis Mercure hotel by Donghu Lake is amazing! The lakeside scenery is absolutely stunning, and the rooms are well-equipped and clean, with 24-hour AC and hot water. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows let you watch the starry sky and sunrise without even leaving your room. The terrace also has a great vibe and is perfect for photos. The bonfire, fireworks, and firework show add a touch of romance. The service is attentive and thoughtful; the butler was very responsive and quick to resolve any issues. The environment is quiet and peaceful, making it incredibly relaxing to return to your room after exploring Donghu Lake. Being able to participate in the evening bonfire party and firework show was a real treat!

Guest UserThis self-guided desert tour is absolutely amazing! The desert scenery is majestic and magnificent, and the afterglow of the setting sun shines on the golden sand dunes, as beautiful as a painting. The campsite facilities are complete and the staff are warm and caring. The food is diverse, the roasted whole lamb is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the aroma is overflowing. Camel riding, sand boarding and other activities are super exciting. Moreover, the self-guided itinerary is free and allows you to deeply experience the charm of the desert. Highly recommended, looking forward to coming again next time!

Guest UserBringing the kids to the desert was totally worth it! They were incredibly excited the whole time, playing in the sand and sandboarding during the day, stargazing at night, and attending a bonfire party – they were so happy they didn't want to sleep! The tents were quiet and comfortable, and the staff were super friendly and even helped look after the children. A fantastic experience, five stars!

Effie0105We stayed here for a one-night stay in the desert with our kids, and it was only a little over 100 yuan – a great deal! The receptionist was very nice; we arrived around 11 pm and they upgraded us since there were rooms available. There are many vendors selling selenium-rich watermelons near the entrance (local drivers said 10 yuan each, 15 yuan for two; I bought mine at the night market for 1.5 yuan per jin). There's a lamb restaurant to the right outside; their hand-pulled lamb is good, but the barbecue is not. A taxi from the train station costs 6 yuan (there will be touts along the way, but it's a local custom; you get used to it). A taxi to Jinshahai costs 50 yuan (the closest and most affordable place to do desert activities in Zhongwei). We'll definitely come back next time!

Guest UserAlthough the hotel is not particularly new, it has complete facilities and the surrounding environment is relatively good and quiet. The heating and air conditioning are sufficient, giving southerners a full sense of security. There are also many types of breakfast, and in order to avoid waste, they are very considerate and cut into small pieces. When breakfast is about to end, they will knock on the door of each room to ask if you have eaten breakfast. The service was very good and enthusiastic. The air conditioner was already on when I checked in. The lady at the front desk also helped to deliver the luggage to the room and explained the precautions very considerately.

Guest UserI absolutely loved this place! I’m writing this as a foreigner who went with 4 other foreigners for a special birthday weekend. First, the service. We have good Chinese proficiency, but those with limited to none will be fine. Most of the communication and coordination is handled via WeChat - which can auto translate. 东 “Dong” was our main contact. He rocked and gave us a real experience. He shuttled us in the sand jeep, gifted me a cake for my birthday, and was just an overall cool guy. Thanks! Second, the location and accommodations. If you stay near Desert Star, there’s a lot of people and campsites - that area seems like a bit of a tourist funnel. This area is located in the REAL sand dunes area. Further North, you actually cross into Inner Mongolia. The separation and distance is worth it. Makes for brighter stars and a more authentic experience. Third, the food. They were able to coordinate a whole lamb to be roasted for my birthday. It was absolutely extraordinary. The sides for it were some of the best I had on the entire trip - they have some skilled chefs there. This place has great reviews, and it’s worth it. I do recommend this to foreigners, and I hope I can return one day.
