Amazing
MMrs_JmnzThe hotel is conveniently located in downtown, close to the Parliament. The reception staff were very accommodating, and while the hallway was a bit dark, it had a pleasant scent. Our room was clean, fresh-smelling, and the bathroom was modern and spotless. The property also offers great amenities like a gym and a game room. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back.
RRaymond TCYA nice apartment which is walking distance to Parliament Hill and others tourists attractions. Wifi is good and provides all the necessary amenities you needed and washing machine.
GGuest UserGreat stay. Central location downtown. Comfortable bed and pillows. Felt relaxed and revitalized. Room as upgraded at check in by the receptionist so that was a bonus!
JJudyfanFor my first time staying overnight at Ottawa, I booked a hotel room for one night at Lord Elgin. Upon arriving early at the hotel, I was provided with a room before my check-in time - which was very appreciated. The facilities are clean and the staff is friendly. However, little did we know, our room on the 7th floor was connected to another room with adjoining doors. We were unable to sleep through the night as the room had little to no sound isolation from the connecting room, in which a baby was crying all night. I am baffled as to how we were able to hear every single noise: coughing and sneezing from the parents in the other room, their toilet flushing and the baby crying throughout the entire night. We were unable to sleep comfortably and woke up with splitting headaches. I booked this hotel to be the closest possible to the Rideau Canal Skateway, but I will have to find another hotel the next time.
GGuest UserA short walk from Parliament Station, the Sheraton gave us a spacious room. However, there was no kettle to boil water for tea - we used the coffee maker instead. There was some kind of problem with the pipes in the wall, meaning a shopvac had to be left running in the hallway outside our room 24hr/d. The carpet in our closet next to the bathroom was always soaked, probably because of the problem.
Perhaps because it was near Centretown, we had one or two homeless or disturbed people on the sidewalks near the hotel. This made it uncomfortable for me to approach with my children because of their random mutterings and throwing of drink bottles. However this only happened twice during our weeklong stay.
Staff were very friendly, nice and helpful, and sharply dressed.
