CCamistThe location has some certain distance to subway stations, but it only matters if you arrive to or depart from the hotel using transit, as you might need to walk for around 10 minutes in order to get to the hotel. However, most of the attractions (Parliament, ByWard market) are within walkable distance (less than 20 minutes) so it is not a problem for me. The room is extremely spacious with even a kitchen and a printer for this price point, and the room is clean. However, the shower blinds have some gaps which seeps water to the floor wet while showering… The staff is really nice and friendly, and the free breakfast that comes with the room is good enough (I like the sausage and the egg bites). The laundry is 24/7 and comes with complimentary laundry sheets and powder, which is a big plus.
However, do note that there is a certain chance that you’ll be assigned to a first floor room, which is essentially the ground floor… One of the entrance (the one next to the parking lot) for ground floor rooms can look a little bit sketchy at night. Since my room is also next to Elgin street where people go to the pubs at night, it can get a little bit noisy, but the bed is far away from the window so it sort of cancelled the disadvantage. It would be better if the front desk asked if a ground floor room was OK before giving the room cards.
GGuest UserAs a family of three, we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, I definitely book again. Very close to shopping and highway 417. Hotel located in a very quiet area.
I should thank Mr. Soheil at Reception who was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was also very good included hot/cold meals and fluits
BBarryWRoom cleanliness and air conditioning were good. Beds were comfy. Breakfast was simple but good in quality. However the breakfast queue was long and food replenishment was not done in pace with the flow, ended up in a long queue not moving as people stayed in the front of the queue stayed in the queue waiting for replenishment. The dinning space was insufficient that could not accommodate the big crowd.
We ran into issue setting up the sofa bed. Calling the front desk asking for assistance we were stunned by a reply saying they would not send staff to help but urging us to try for another attempts and kept reassuring us the sofa bed operation was simple and easy. Finally we got that sorted out with help from other hotel customers..
A major disappointment that totally ruined my experience with the hotel was the way my enquiry was handled towards an unknown charge after I checked out.
In the check out bill, it was just a charge billed to my credit card without indicating what service or item I was billed for. While my family did not order or buy anything at all from the hotel and we were in a rush, I did not check the bill upon check out until 5 days later I saw it in my credit card account. I sent an email to the hotel reservation (that was the only email channel I found from the hotel home page) to enquire about the charge and no reply was received ever towards my enquiry and that's what I was hit. Although the unknown charge was refunded after another week, I did not feel good with the way they work. I frankly accept mistakes made by the front desk or the account team for incorrect bill, but I do not accept ignorance and zero communication from the backend on my enquiry. This is something the hotel should improve.
CCozyExplorerThe hotel left a very good impression. The location is excellent – everything is nearby: the city center, shops, and restaurants, all within walking distance. The room was clean and tidy, with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was well equipped with all the essentials for cooking, which was very convenient. The fast check-in via the app was a big plus – quick and hassle-free. The atmosphere was calm and comfortable for relaxing.
Things to improve (room 902): some furniture (for example, the wardrobe) felt a bit old, although it was clean and functional.
AAlex DouvilleWe had 2 fire alarms in 2 days, nobody told us when we’ve made the reservation. Fiest time ppl we’re afraid , we had to go outside… NO STAFF explain nothing to us for too much time. I asked at the front desk and the woman there just ignore me. The other woman that was there didnt either explain I had to asked what’s going on is it a practice or not ? Ppl were actually afraid… She told yeah in the most nonchalant way. Also when we arrived, there was still hair and stuff in the bathroom that I had to remove. Ive check in early I must say but they told it was ok that the room was ready. Clearly it was not 100% clean. Breakfast is very VERY basic. I had to told front desk that coffee was empty… Plus, the first guy that welcome me at the front desk was not sympathetic. If you have the budget to go elsewhere just do it.

There 5-6 lifts but there are always long queues for lifts there. The lifts do not seem to serve their purpose well. In the morning, the hotel controls all lifts. You can’t press Down Button for a life to come down to check out or to the car park. You have to wait till someone who comes out to where you are on a lift way up or down. Never found hotel lifts operating so weirdly 😳 After checking out, I tried to take the stairs case to go down to the car park, I couldn’t do that because a room key was required to access the staircase😖
The electric door lock for our room had been beeping most of the time. Informed hotel to fix it.
AAlicia York-BirdI expected more from Glö than I received. I chose Glö as a ”treat” for a couple's getaway, as it was a newer hotel and appeared like it would be snazzier than the usual fare.
Pros: The bathroom was very nice, and the complimentary toiletries are top notch. The rooms are very clean. The mattress was very comfortable and the TV was a decent size.
Cons: The rooms are incredibly small, and while they are nicely furnished, the tiny ”couch” seat was more form than function (i.e. prettier than it was comfortable). The front desk staff seemed very new and clueless on basic hospitality essentials, like how to work the in-room television. It also took ages for a response from front desk on how to work the TV and the issue wasn't even resolved.
I probably will not stay here again nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone I know, as there are so many hotels to choose from in Kanata that offer better, more knowledgeable service and better pricing.
GGuest UserBooked 2 nights for a colleague and he said having nice experience in the hotel. Room was clean and spacious. Good to have the fitness room which met his needs.
Hotel location is good and convenient to various places around DT Ottawa.
GGuest UserGreat place to stay nice & clean not far from downtown . Private parking and room for 3 people was big with a big kitchen. I definitely recommend . Price is also affordable.
