Waiting Hotel (Shanghai Dachang Town Subway Station Store)

First, this hotel is in a very remote location. This was my second stay, and each time I chose it for the convenience of taking photos nearby the next day. Both experiences were disappointing. The first time, tissues that didn't belong to me or my friend were found in the room. Thinking it was better to avoid trouble, I didn't report it. This time, however, it was even worse. After entering the room around 9 p.m., the odor of cigarette smoke was incredibly strong and unbearable. We immediately contacted the front desk to request a change, but after entering the room and indeed discovering the strong odor of cigarette smoke, they insisted throughout the entire process that "this was the only room available" and even demanded a cancellation. We waited at our room door for half an hour and then in the lobby for another half an hour, but the problem remained unresolved. Even more infuriating was the extremely rude attitude of the hotel manager. At around 10:30 p.m., the front desk contacted the manager for a solution. Up until that point, we had been very friendly with the front desk. However, the manager's first words to us were, "Louder! I can't hear you!" His tone was extremely aggressive, and subsequent communication was even more depressing. He consistently shirked responsibility and pressured us to cancel our order, completely refusing to resolve the issue. They even insisted, "I'll have the hotel lady clean it up, just wait." But it was just smoke, not something that could be fixed by just cleaning, especially since it was already nearly 11 p.m. Their ability to escalate conflicts is truly unprecedented! Even Ctrip customer service was shocked when they heard the recording of our call. Even more ridiculously, when they asked us to cancel our reservation, they still had rooms available online, including family and king-size rooms, but the front desk insisted, "No rooms available." In the end, we were able to rebook a king-size room of the same type, which was available at a significantly lower price than our previous reservation, so we considered it a way to save money. Of course, even after checking out, the hotel hasn't offered any compensation or consolation. Furthermore, the room's soundproofing was extremely poor. We could clearly hear noise from the hallway and other rooms in the middle of the night, and there were mosquitoes in the room, making for a terrible sleep experience. With the terrible service, poor hygiene, poor soundproofing, and opaque pricing, I will never stay here again, and I don't recommend this hotel to anyone!
