Atour S Hotel (Shanghai Baoshan Gucun Park)

The hotel has a wonderful ambiance, designed in the Huizhou architectural style. We stayed in the 'Hongru' courtyard, which I'd estimate has about 8 rooms. Our 'Jimu' King Room was spacious and bright, located on the second floor with a small, south-facing balcony (though it didn't have any chairs). The bathroom was quite roomy, and the smart toilet was a great feature. The buffet breakfast exceeded my expectations (I forgot to take photos!). It offered a fantastic selection of both Chinese options (like noodles, rice noodles, fried rice, stir-fries, congee, and fried dough sticks) and Western options (bread, coffee, salads, etc.), along with fruits and drinks. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

The hotel itself offers good facilities, and the service is acceptable, making it a suitable choice for a relaxing weekend getaway. However, several issues significantly detracted from my experience: 1. During check-in, the front desk unexpectedly asked for my phone number to input a verification code, claiming it was to confirm my identity (??). It later became clear they had secretly registered me as a member. When I declined, the staff then pleaded, citing pressure to meet membership quotas and offering a voucher for a free 'pro' pillow upgrade. Ironically, upon entering my room, I discovered that the room type I had booked already included 'pro' pillows. 2. The overhead shower in the bathroom was leaking, with water constantly dripping from the ceiling during my shower. 3. The soundproofing was a bit poor. 4. One of the bed slats under the bed was not properly assembled, and I accidentally sustained a deep cut from an exposed edge. 5. There were flies in the room throughout my stay.

The environment is very good, my girlfriend said it was worth the money. . . There is no soundproofing. I don't know what two men were doing outside in the middle of the night. It was very noisy. Is there someone cleaning in the morning? The sound of placing tools is also very clear. Overall quite satisfied. It would be better if the TV can cast the screen

Very unique hotel, I like it very much. It is gated and very private. It is antique. There is also a courtyard in front of the room where you can chat, drink tea, and have dinner. 🌺🌺

It takes a while to get to the room after checking in. After checking in, I staggered to the room door in the wind and rain and found that it could not be opened. I waited in the cold for a long time and the person who came said that the front desk neglected to activate the room card; the TV could not be adjusted and I waited for someone to adjust it; I asked the projection screen and waited for someone to adjust it again. After waiting for a long time, no one came and I called the voice call and was hung up; finally someone came and didn’t know how to adjust it, and it took an hour to adjust it. During this period, the manager and engineer’s WeChat and mobile phone could not be reached because the engineer was on vacation, the manager was off work, and the engineer lived somewhere else. It couldn’t be operated remotely. The solution given to me was that I waited for two hours and changed my room to continue working. It’s really embarrassing. The facilities and services for a room that costs 700 a night are like this? There is not even a full-time engineer? There is no manager on duty? If you encounter a problem, customers have to wait for these leaders to come to work before they can solve it, right?
