Over all was nice, just very cold inside the room. And the third floor felt like 5th floor.

The location was fantastic for exploring Shanghai and the main attractions in the city center could be reached with a bit of walking. Although the receptionist did not speak much English, he was very polite and used a translation software to communicate so that was not a problem. The room was good for the price.

it was the most terrible hotel that I had seen before. no elevator no tea bag or coffee no water bottle nothing in the room expected kettle, old dryer. shower area wasmudy and moulded, very disgusting. dryer was very old and worked for 10 seconds, then stopped for 30 minutes. tv out of order, I asked every time for fix it, but after 5 times following up, the manager shouted me that , no tv, not working tv at room , understand no tv. twice repeated. very dirty, not daily cleaning, every where was messy, no provided , tea bags, water, toothbrush and paste, last day I wanted to check out at 9 am, I gave the key and walked out , then I decided to back to hotel up to 12, but she said you can't get the key , I said it's l ess than a minute, up to noon I booked it , but she not accepted and said no way to get the key back, wasting money there.

Pathetic hotel, no lift , room at 4th floor no one to take luggage.

A small hotel opposite a library. Many eateries around, halal or non halal. Friendly staff. Room is small but OK clean bedding. Furnishings are dated and it is under renovation now. Have a unique staircase and no lift.

The Old Shanghai Huixiang is a budget-friendly option in a super convenient location for exploring the central parts of Shanghai. The staff was really nice and receptive. The ongoing renovations seem to aim showcasing the building's history which give it a certain charm. But it also makes the place feel a bit messy... Be prepared for a bit of a construction zone atmosphere. Even the rooms that are refurbished do not really have a new/fresh feel to them. If you prioritize a polished, modern experience, this might not be the best fit. However, if you're on a budget and appreciate a touch of history, this hotel could offer a unique and interesting stay.

Except the bed and the towels, the place in general is very dirty. The good thing is the location, close to people’s square and close to streets with good local restaurants. They do not talk english.

there was no elevator and I had infant with me it was hard going up and down. TV didnt work.Staff was friendly, location was perfect for going to places.

This Old Shanghai Huixiang Hotel really an OLD and dirty hotel. Localtion very far from the Nanjing Road Pedestrian street. The area are dark and not safe when you arrive the hotel. No lift, you have to carry your big luggage bag to second floor and third floor. And the stairs are not safe to walk. The photos in the advertisement are 100% different. The bathroom very dirty and the shower need to hold by hand. Overall, not value for the money. If you come to Shanghai for holiday, I am strongly not recommended to choose this old Shanghai hotel. I will recommend a hotel name Vienna Hotel which is just beside the Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. You can go shopping and go to the Shanghai Bund easily. This hotel is new, very clean, have lift and very save to stay. Value for the money.
