The location is fantastic, close to Zhang Yuan and the new Louie ship, also the largest Starbucks. You can find both luxury shopping and dining options nearby. The hotel is situated at the back, providing a quieter atmosphere, which I prefer.
However, if you stay on a higher floor, the network connection may not be very stable. If you're not particular about having a view, this is the best location to choose.

Do not be confused with the other Kempinski. This one is more like a serviced apartment style. All rooms are suits, which is nice. Location is reasonably good but nearest subway station is about 500m away.

Anytime I am staying in Shanghai and I am not crashing at a friends house this is the ONLY hotel I will stay at. I love the location, the room style and size and amenities!!! Perfect for solo travelers, couples, families and friends

The hotel service was impeccable- the check-in and out were fast and efficient; and they acceded to our request for late check out without questions. The online concierge service via weixin was also very fast and responsive.
One minor comment about the placing of the kitchen utensils - the spoons and forks were in a drawer just above the dustbin and the cups were placed in a drawer way too high up in the top cabinet. It would also be useful if the hotel could provide plates and washing liquid for utensils.

First time staying at Kempinski hotels. Had imagined to be on a more luxurious hotel.
Kempinski The One can improve on their property finishing to make it more feel like staying in luxurious hotels. The room we stayed in had smoke sensors covered in plastic and that should be illegal practice. Apart from that, mirror already had internal stain & walls are chips.
Staff on the other hand were welcoming but can also be improvised to make guests feel welcomed and look after as VIP. Staff should proactively approach guests in lobby and ask if there is anything they could assist/not just standing behind desk waiting to be asked.

Booked the two-bedroom apartment and it was very comfortable and clean with convenient location to the areas we wanted to visit. The hotel team were all very friendly and many thanks to Lily Li who helped us with our checkout procedures ~
