Moxi Apartment (Shanghai Bund Yu Garden)

This apartment-complex hotel room was in an extremely convenient location for our Shanghai girls trip! It was clean and spacious enough for our 2-night stay. We only had a small challenge finding the entrance upon arrival, but was very smooth from them on. Highly recommend for a price-effective choice!

If you don't have a budget, it's okay to stay here because the space is large and the location is good. However, if you are picky about hygiene, I don't recommend it. We only stayed a few hours so we didn't need an expensive hotel.

Sadly the place is not as described. First of all you enter to a building in a very narrow street with full of dirt and we could not identify where to go first until we asked to somebody. The apartments are located at the 6th floor of this building. The building looks not good maintained. The reception is a room where you see after you leave the elevator. This is not a hotel it is just some apartments in a weird place which you can rent. The building did not seem well maintained and safe at all. The room itself was big but sadly dirty. Also we chose the room as it was saying it is non smoking but the smoke detectors were taped and the room smelling like cigarettes a lot. Bed and pillows were not comfy. Bathroom was dirty. There was a small kitchenette but not even one cup or plate to use (why to have a kitchen?). Only thing we liked was the central location in the city. It was very easy access to many areas such as bund and the old town. Also the personel was nice. But overall the maintenance and cleaning was bad. We would not come back again.

I was scared because I read that apartments were not cleaned but mine was really clean and didn’t have bad smell or cigarette smell Location is great like 50 mt from metro but hard to find for a foreigner so you have to call and ask for indications . When you arrive to the metro yun an garden , take exit 1 then turn left and on the first alley turn left again , you walk until you see like a mini convenience store and you ll see an elevator , take it to the 6th floor and you arrive It s not a hotel I think but apartments where also other people live , I didn’t hear any rumour but I was so tired that I slept a lot The only things I didn’t like were the mattress was hard and there were not real towels they gave me like paper towels and weren’t easy to use Staff is nice and always ready to help. Don’t speak English but they know how to use the translator ☺️

The hotel is ideally located, offering easy access to a variety of popular attractions and activities in the area. The outside view was spectacular from the window. The service provided by the staff was commendable, ensuring a generally pleasant stay. However, one notable issue was the noise emanating from the recycling center located on the bottom floor, which continued late into the night, often until 3:00 a.m., negatively affecting the quality of sleep. Additionally, the towels provided were thin and packaged, which was not up to the expected standard for a hotel of this caliber. Despite these inconveniences, the stay was overall satisfactory.

Very nice location, right beside the Yuyuan Garden Station and walkable to The Bund, Temple of God and Nanjing Pedestrian Street. For first timer, it's challenging to find it as you need to enter an alleyway before getting to the elevator to the 6th floor. Nevertheless it was a decent stay.
