Best Saint-Gilles Hotels

"Frankly, I want to give this hotel full marks for its clean and nice environment, free coffee and water at the pantry island next to the reception, and friendly, cheerful and helpful receptionists, just my local friend there said the location does not seem very safe at night. Indeed it’s quite quiet at night. So have a weary eye when you walk back to the hotel. If you are considering a hotel near the Midi Station, I will still recommend this hotel. It is just 5 mins away! No need to worry about the noise from the trains, you hear nothing inside the hotel and room!"

"The newly renovated hotel smells like paint. No one tidied the room. The customer service at the front desk was courteous. There is no air conditioning in the room and you have to open the window. It is noisy at night in the center of the city. It would be better if you stay on a high floor. There are bars and restaurants below and it is noisy if you stay on the lower floor. It is more convenient to eat out, but the breakfast is not very good. At 17 euros, it is not cost-effective! At this price, accommodation with cooking facilities is acceptable in Europe, but you must live in a high-rise!"

"The hotel is located not far from the Royal Palace right from a shopping street with trams. When I arrived there was only self service check in although there is a reception hidden at the back. No AMEX card was accepted only visa, Mastercard or European bank card which made paying harder than required. The room was clean but small and there was not even a cup or kettle in the room. Also no tv just one bed with two separate duvets. The bathroom has small shower and the floor seemed to be some sort of plastic cover. The light switch also switched off all power so in the morning my phone was not charged, I did notice later that there were in fact two buttons but as the are black it was hard to see. There is a seating area but as it was on the top floor the roof takes most space. On checking out I was told that there is a central kitchen area below stairs where you can get a cup or use the microwave but as there was nobody with check in I didn't find out. Price was reasonable for Brussels and it was close to my client it was satisfactory."
