Romantic Hotels in Semporna

Our stay at the Arcadia Hotel was truly idyllic and met our expectations. This resort is located on a beautiful, private island called Pandanan, opposite Timba Timba Island. Its location is wonderful. The hotel's facilities and decor are very beautiful, luxurious and white. It has a very large infinity pool where you can enjoy the view of Timba Timba Island. We've read some negative comments about the buffet, but for us, it was truly incredible for its variety and quality. Even more so considering the hotel is on a remote island. The kitchen staff, and especially the cook, is a talented and very pleasant gentleman. Additionally, the stay includes a day trip to an island, snorkeling, and a boat ride to watch the sunset. The only negative point I consider is that the island's shores are littered with bottles and other plastic products, which is truly shocking and sad. I think whether the trash comes from another island or not, they should definitely take this into account and have the staff clean up the beach. Thank you very much!

Overall I enjoyed our stay in sky water villa. When I was booking I read the reviews also worried that they are a bit old, so that the houses might not be well maintained. But during my stay I feel like the houses are used but still in okay manner. The best thing for this hotel is that I think they have the best house reef, and you can see turtles at night from your balcany. I went snorkling a few times during my stay I saw quite a few clown fish aka nemo and many fishes and even a sea eel one day. They also provide “galss” kayak which you can watch sunset on it. And the best thing they offer is that the tours you book with the villa starts around 10 am, you can just get ready and wait in your room, and when the boat is here the staff will get you from your room, and you’ll finish the tour around 3-4 pm which is the afternoon tea time at the villa. Instead of in the town area you need wake up early and meet and wait at the jetty around 8:15 am . And power supply is stable just may be ocassion blackout but it would turn back on very soon. However I do think they need to clean their air con as the one in our room seems very dusty, we had to clean the filter ourselves, they were very dusty. And during the afternoon coz our villa faces the sunset direction the air con feels a bit not strong enough. And the aircon outer unit is installed right at the room’s wall so it’s a little bit noisy, I’d suggest why not just use a more powerful window unit instead. The food is so so, but it’s difficult to cater everyone’s preference for food. The hotel is not cheap and maybe not very cost effective compare to hotels in other places, but to be fair i think if you want to go to semporna, this might be a reasonable option as overall semporna and malaysia is very expensive for tourists. And i higly recommend to stay at least 2-3 nights instead of 1 night to fully enjoy and relax yourself.

It takes about 20 minutes to get there from the pier. You can go directly into the sea from the room. The water is very clear. You can see the sea as soon as you open the French window. You can also see starfish and fish around the water house, and small crabs on the wooden stairs. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included, and there are afternoon tea snacks in the afternoon. There are seafood, crabs, squids, shrimps and some blanched vegetables every night. The stay experience is not bad. Since it happened to be Christmas, I also caught up with the hotel's fireworks celebration! It is recommended to order deep diving directly from the store. The accompanying crew not only has good photography skills, but also gives deep diving photos and videos! ! Love it!

I am a family of three, and I brought two little girls from my relatives. I booked a standard room and a triple room. The triple room is actually the kind with an extra bed. The price is more than 4,500 per night, which is actually a bit expensive, but there was no way to communicate when booking, so I had to book it this way. Outside the wall of the standard room we stayed in is the house of local residents. As long as you stand on the plank road from the pier to the hotel for a while, there will be local people rowing boats to sell seafood and coconuts to sell. Many Chinese tourists will buy seafood to the restaurant for processing. It is very interesting to bargain, which is also an experience. There are also local children playing on the beach, but some will ask tourists for money, and some are very simple. I bravely entered the village and walked around. It was really dirty and smelly, haha! There are also very famous water houses on the island, but they are not together with this resort. You have to walk a little bit, and there is a fee to enter. Let's talk about the sea next to the resort. It is really beautiful. Although the beach is very dirty and there are all kinds of garbage, the sea is really beautiful. You can see the clear bottom by the beach. There are starfish, corals, various small fish, and a veritable jelly sea. We did not sign up for a sea tour to other places. We asked and it was about 65 Malaysian ringgits per person. We stayed for 2 days. We snorkeled at the pier of the resort. The staff was very good. We said we wanted to see turtles, so we dragged a lifebuoy to take us to the place where we could see sea ghosts (actually the water house). To be honest, the quality of tourism practitioners is much better than that of our country. If you don't have high requirements, or are a beginner snorkeler, snorkeling at the pier is actually enough. It doesn't matter if you can't swim. Life jackets, lifebuoys, and responsible staff will satisfy your yearning for colorful underwater time.

I also saw the Malaysian national treasure proboscis monkey 🐒, and experienced the ATV jungle adventure, which showed us another different beauty of Semporna! My girlfriend's hand-painted painting was done for free in the mangroves. In Kuala Lumpur, the minimum starting price for a painting is 50 Malaysian ringgits. The boss upgraded me to a sea view room facing the sea. You can snorkel on the beach at the door. There are schools of fish, starfish and small tropical fish. I caught 3 fish for the first time in my life. Nice. One island and one hotel. I think the scenery is very beautiful. Longtail Beach and Jelly Sea. I played banana boat and glass boat for free. At night, the staff took me to see crabs and look for blue eyes. The children liked it very much. The boss is Chinese and arranged it very well. From picking us up at the airport to sending us back to the airport, he also sent us to Semporna town for a walk. We stayed for two nights and free pick-up. The meals were also very good. Every meal was seafood, chicken, meat and vegetables. There was a good combination. There was also watermelon. The staff was also very enthusiastic. The room standard was OK. There was definitely a gap with star hotels, but the scenery and entertainment could make up for it. The vacation was very good. It is highly recommended!

A family trip for two families. It's a very new hotel. It's hygienic, the quilts are clean, and the store service is good. Before booking, I was a little worried because there were no reviews on Ctrip. I was still in Semporna today, and Dahonghua was the quietest and most comfortable hotel I stayed at in the past few days. In the garden view room of Dream Manor Hotel in Semporna, I spent a holiday time like a fairy tale! The room design combines natural aesthetics and comfortable experience. The room is dimly lit, but the facilities are OK. The balcony is great. There are many tourists during the May Day holiday, so the shuttle bus is very slow. The signal is indeed not good, haha, but the scenery is worth it. The deep dive costs 520 MYR per person, the instructor leads two, and we saw six turtles!!! The water quality and experience are a lifelong regret!!

Hotel staff decorated our room for anniversary celebration. Super thoughtful of them. They have different equipments for snorkelling and paddle board for free. Food is great. We had salted egg prawns for one night and steamed prawn with eggs the other night. Some hairs on the bedsheets though... Otherwise the room is very clean. Great air conditioner. There's tour for island visiting and jumping. We joined one for Timba Timba beach, MataKing Island and Pom Pom island. Dived twice and snorkelling for three times. Time well spent with skillful coach and complimentary underwater video taping and photo taking.
