MM61189****I was really satisfied with this hotel, but unfortunately, it was fully booked, so I could only stay one night. The owner was incredibly warm and helpful, and all the staff were very friendly. They assisted with everything we needed during our stay. There's a car available for transfers to and from town. On our second day, we were changing hotels and going island hopping in the morning, and the owner proactively helped us transport our luggage to the new hotel. They are truly excellent hosts! The room was clean, and there were plenty of disposable amenities. The pool was fantastic; the kids had a blast playing until late into the night.

GGuest UserIt was my first time to Semporna with my friends. After landing, we chose a forest resort homestay with a good reputation in the town and stayed there for two nights. Before checking in, the boss set up a group to communicate in advance about the pick-up, which made us feel particularly at ease~ The small wooden house we stayed in was clustered in the natural environment of the palm forest and I loved it. During the stay, the boss provided a lot of local tips. We went to the seafood market every night to buy seafood and returned home with a lot of seafood. I never thought that one day I would be full of two mantis shrimps. Sisters, if you live in the town, you can go for it and donât step on thunder.

MM532750****My stay at 'Fairy Tale Wonderland Resort' in Semporna completely exceeded my expectations. Let's start with transportation: the hotel offers a shuttle service that picks you up directly from the airport, which was a huge convenience. The driver was incredibly friendly and even gave us tips on where to exchange money and reliable dive shops.
The accommodation was fantastic. The room had wooden floors and a high ceiling, and it felt clean and dry. The bed was super soft, and the pillows weren't flat at all. The big sea turtle plushie on the bed was absolutely adorable. Both the fan and air conditioning were quiet at night, ensuring a very restful sleep. The courtyard felt like a small garden with coconut trees, flower walls, and colorful signs. It was incredibly relaxing to just sit on the woven hanging chair and zone out; every photo I took turned out beautifully.
The food deserves a special mention. For dinner, we ordered steamed crab, mantis shrimp, soy-sauce steamed fish, and a plate of water spinach. The freshness was undeniable, and the cooking was perfectly executed, bringing out the natural flavors of the seafood without being overly salty or greasy.
Overall, the hotel's attention to detail in service was excellent: convenient transfers, clean and comfortable rooms, and high-quality food. If you're looking for a relaxing holiday in Semporna, I highly recommend staying here.

AAnonymous UserThe behaviour of the staff is very good. This hotel is convenient if you value easy access to amenities and donât mind a lively atmosphere. With Maybank, a mart, and several food shops nearby, daily needs are well covered.
On the downside, guests who are sensitive to noise may find it challenging to rest. The weekend night market creates significant noise late into the night, making sleep difficult. Additionally, the toilet has an unpleasant odor, likely coming from the drain, which detracts from overall comfort.

BBujiarededashuThis is probably the best hotel in Semporna town. The facilities and hardware are quite good, and the service is excellent. They even offer complimentary juice in the lobby. Just a heads-up when paying the deposit: make sure to have some cash on hand, as two of our cards didn't work. We stayed in a Sunrise Balcony King Room, and the view was absolutely stunning, directly overlooking the Semporna sea, with a glimpse of the infinity pool. Sitting on the balcony was incredibly relaxing. It's also very close to the town center and the pier. There's a small mall downstairs, along with KFC, Pizza Hut, and Haijing Seafood Restaurant, making dining and getting around super convenient. This hotel should definitely be your top choice for accommodation when visiting Semporna.

GGuest UserThe closest hotel to the pier, hands down. I don't know how the ratings are calculated... I'm not judging it by domestic standards; when in Rome, do as the Romans do. Local facilities just aren't that great. Based on what I saw online, I thought it would be terrible, but the room was surprisingly clean. Although there's nowhere to hang clothes to dry, I'd advise anyone who loves going out to sea and exploring the pier to stay close by. The front desk staff were also great; they have a WeChat for communication and translation. Don't bother looking at the negative reviews or the ratings. I stayed in town for 6 days, and the first place, which had the highest rating, was personally the worst.

There was dedicated staff to handle luggage, though the facilities are definitely outdated and the room had a strange odor. The service was decent, but the front desk really helped us out of a bind when an unexpected situation arose on our way back.

GGuest UserItâs similar to hotels/guesthouses in China, and much simpler than domestic budget hotel chains such as Home Inns or GreenTree Inn. Hotels in Sabah generally feel two stars lower than those in China. The one I stayed in in Kota Kinabalu is owned by Marriott The Le MĂŠridien hotel is also comparable to domestic All Seasons hotels, so donât expect too much.
The sanitation is quite clean, and there are often people chanting sutras with loud speakers in the morning and evening... overall it's not bad.
It is two kilometers away from the pier and takes a taxi for 6-8RM. You can go to the seafood market to bargain for dragon knives, which is quite fun!
