When I asked for them to be changed, I was told the cleaning staff had already left for the day, and changing rooms wasn't an option either. "This hotel was absolutely amazing, exceeding all my expectations for this trip. It was fantastic! I communicated with the hotel beforehand because I was arriving on the morning of the 16th and leaving on the evening of the 17th, and I wanted to know how to arrange snorkeling. The hotel replied that I needed to arrive at the jetty by 8:30 AM on the 16th, or I wouldn't be able to fly on the 17th. Later, I asked about getting hot water. They upgraded my room for an extra fee. The room with air conditioning had hot water, but you had to press an external switch to activate it. We arrived at the hotel around 4 PM after snorkeling, had afternoon tea, and then dinner at 7 PM. Since it was Chinese New Year's Eve, we didn't bring any alcohol. We even met some wonderful fellow Chinese guests who shared theirs with us, and we also asked the hotel bar staff to purchase some for us (for a fee). I think it was super worth it. From 8 PM to midnight, there were always people snorkeling – so relaxed and free. There were stairs directly from our room leading to the water, which felt incredibly worthwhile. If you want to experience a water bungalow and are looking for value for money, I truly believe Latolato was wonderfully beyond expectations. The hotel staff were also excellent and always proactive in resolving any issues. It was great, and I look forward to visiting again."

Breakfast was great, and room service was attentive. There's a shuttle bus to town and the pier. For airport transfers, you can choose shared taxis or Grab."

"First, we gathered at the jetty, and then the second picture shows the bus taking us back to Tawau Airport from Semporna. It was fantastic; I'm so glad I chose this. The value of this long-standing five-star hotel keeps increasing. The service was excellent, and extra meals were served promptly. The buggy service was also very quick. The underwater scenery was even more vibrant and colorful. The sunset was also beautiful. There were so many sea turtles, we encountered them everywhere, along with manta rays and various schools of fish. It was breathtaking. I'll definitely go again if I have the chance. I've already recommended it to my friends!"

"Mediocre at best, definitely not worth the price. 1. First off, the room was incredibly hot. Even with the AC on, the temperature wouldn't drop. 2. Secondly, for a hotel costing over 4000, the bathroom facilities were subpar. They even had a 2-in-1 shampoo/body wash (something I've only seen in hotels under 300). 3. The restaurant staff's attitude was very average. I had just come out of the water and was in the lobby when a server rolled her eyes and, in a scolding tone, told me "no wet." It felt like I owed her something. 4. This island is quite boring. The only free activity is swimming and snorkeling, but you have to go to the pier to do it. There's no direct water access from the room. After swimming, you have to walk an extremely long distance back to your room, which is quite a hassle. 5. The food was also mediocre. No fancy seafood feasts or anything; the most expensive seafood they offered was fried shrimp. 6. Overall, the service level was very average, feeling more like a budget motel. The only highlight was the snorkeling instructor, who was very nice."

The pool is a bit small, but since it's rarely used, you can often have it all to yourself. The room boasts three sides of windows, making it very bright and airy, and the air conditioning is excellent. I had a wonderfully comfortable two-day stay. The staff provided standard service and could communicate in Chinese via WeChat. Transfers and pickups were always punctual."

"1️⃣ The location is about 1.2km from the pier, a 20-minute walk or a hotel shuttle bus. However, the road there is very bad, with no sidewalks, making it somewhat dangerous at night. 2️⃣ The hotel is located in a courtyard. Check-in and hotel staff all work in the courtyard. If someone is talking outside, you can hear them inside, as there is virtually no soundproofing. Similarly, conversations inside can be heard by passersby outside. Those seeking privacy and quiet should think twice. 3️⃣ The rooms are very basic. There are no curtains, only Roman blinds. The bathroom doesn't even have curtains. 😰 If you stay on the first floor, there's practically no privacy at night. Why didn't they even bother with curtains? It's really unpleasant. 4️⃣ It's very noisy at night. There are all sorts of insect and bird chirps, motorcycles passing by, and a constant, inexplicable mechanical humming outside my room. It was incredibly noisy. Then, at 4 AM, they started chanting prayers through a loudspeaker next door. I basically spent the whole night surrounded by noise; it was torture! 😩 5️⃣ Breakfast was just an egg and a bowl of noodles. After that, you could go island hopping. In short, I wouldn't recommend staying here at this price. It's just too noisy. The most important thing about staying in a hotel is rest, and the room lacks privacy without curtains. It rains frequently here, and there's a musty, watery smell on the first floor. It's a very average hotel, not worth the price. Personally, I think if you're going to be noisy anyway, you might as well stay near the pier."
