Sails Port Macquarie, an EVT hotel Reviews

We chose this hotel for its location. Unfortunately for us it’s rained so the location was spoiled. But that isn’t the reason for the poor review. We were greeted by a request for $15 a day for the hotel car park (We had already paid in advance for the room and breakfast). The lobby and bar was full of Drs and Medical Reps for a two day convention so we had to fight our way to our room each day. We ate in the restaurant and my steak was cold and the rest luke warm. Breakfast was a buffet style and was messy, not checked and trays were empty and the worst we have had travelling. On check out we were charged again for our breakfast and the manager was condescending until she realised she was incorrect.

It was a fantastic stay. Service, cleanliness, location and amenities..chefs kiss. The buffet was the best part of the morning, and the food served was delicious. Props to the chefs and workers. The chefs made such various indulgent food choices and the workers would help take the dirty dishes away. The shopping centres were located near the mall, making it easier to buy goods. The location was obviously the best part. The sea to look at from your hotel room (if you had the seaside/poolside view) was breathtaking. I know for sure you would enjoy Sails Hotel, 10/10 stay and experience. Me and my family are definitely going there again.

We loved the location and the spa

Everything was excellent except the bathroom facilities had issues maintaining the shower temperature and the basin mixer was spraying water onto the bench when turned on.

The environment is super nice and peaceful. My kids have much fun in the swimming pool. And the food in hotel restaurant is yummy! Definitely will come again!

Location was good, staff were friendly and helpful. However the photos of the bathroom were misleading - the shower and toilet look spacious but were narrow in reality My father was has a walker and there wasn't enough room for him to walk to the toilet. There were no shower rails for support (they were actually towel rails). So the place is not really disability friendly (though staff did provide shower chair). The mattresses were also extremely soft - making it difficult to get out of bed.

Everything was very good. Bed was little bit soft for my test but was perfect for my husband.

Excellent location, nice environment, a good rest stop on the way to Sydney

I was resting on the way back to Sydney from the Gold Coast. When I was driving, I received a call from the front desk saying that the room was full and asked me to change to the hotel next door. The reason was that it was full during the holiday. It was ridiculous. Didn’t I stay there during the holiday? I disagreed. They could only let me stay, but I had already thought that the room they arranged for me must be not good! Sure enough, after entering the room, it was really disgusting. The hygiene was super poor, with blood-stained stools, red spots (blood spots) on the towels, red spots on the carpet, and hair and dust on the sheets! Ctrip has been helping me coordinate a room change, saying that the room was full and there was no room to change. Make do with it. I drove for 5 hours and was tired enough. As a result, I turned off the lights and slept for a while. It turned out to be a nightmare. This room was actually next to the ventilation duct, which was right next to the bed. The ventilation duct was full of ventilation sounds all night. I also felt someone twisting the door handle of my room in the middle of the night. Speaking of this, it’s even more ridiculous. I can actually walk from our room to the next room. The door in the middle is not locked at all. Horrible, if I hadn’t found it, no one would walk in in the middle of the night! The ventilation ducts and door handles made me feel scared. I woke up and fell asleep. I didn't sleep well all night. I had to drive 4 hours back to Sydney in the morning. The breakfast was even more disgusting. The dishes were not cleaned. There was nothing. Children were not free! Oh my God, I will never stay in this hotel again. I don't know why this hotel is rated so high. It is broken, old and unhygienic. The windows can't be opened. It's really disgusting and not worth it!

We needed a bathtub. When we made the reservation, it was stated that the room had a bathtub, but when we actually checked in, we didn't have one. When we explained it to the front desk, the front desk said they didn't know why they gave me a bathtub. I said that what I booked had a bathtub. I was not responsible, and they didn't give it to us in the end. There is a bathtub, and I was in a bad mood during the Christmas vacation.

A very beautiful resort hotel. I will go there again if I have the chance next time!
