"The temptation in The Hunter is to fill your day with wine tastings and food but staying here makes it quite hard to leave. It’s so peaceful and relaxing, beautiful birdsong as you sit on the veranda and watch the kangaroos. Delicious breakfast hampers and lovely hosts who perfectly balance being available and welcoming with providing privacy and freedom to explore the beautiful grounds. We arrived expecting a basket of wood for the open fire in the room but ended up swimming in the beautifully clean pool! How the weather changed. All in all a refreshing escape and chance to appreciate the nature and heritage in this beautiful part of NSW - just what we needed!"

"Great location, several wineries very nearby. The owners were helpful to check us in remotely using key pin and drop box. The pool and grounds are relaxing on a warm day after touring the valley. The property looks “rustic”, in keeping with provincial charm. everything functioned well and we hope to rebook on future visits."

"Lovely spot for a weekend in Pokolbin, set way back from the road in a picturesque clearing filled with wallabies! So nice to sit on the balcony and watch the sun go down as they fed on the grass. Lovely spacious room with kitchenette and a big bathtub. Beautiful bathroom products by Jurlique was a nice touch ! The bed was a little firm for me but my husband loved it. Knocked off a star for cleanliness as you could see the walls were quite dusty when the up lights were on. It didn’t feel super private , you could hear all conversation when guests were out on their balconies."

"The lady on Reception was exceptional, helped us in every way posssible Lloyd our Horse & carriage driver was amazing, very patient with our 87 yr old Mum xx Never rushed us & took us all thru the back to see kangaroo's Thanks mate we had a great trip"

Wine Country Villas

"Wine Country Villas was excellent, we stayed in a 2 bed villa which has two good sized bedrooms. The place was very clean and well presented with all main items provided, including plenty of beach towels alongside the fridge stocked for breakfast. Checkin was easy as they send you a code on the day which allows you to access the property, so very Covid Safe. The lovely balcony deck is great to sit and enjoy breakfast and the view of Hunter Valley, and the pool is great. The kids loved it. The location is good and a very short drive to all the Vineyards and Hunter Valley Gardens, and a 15 min drive to Cessnock if you need to go to the Supermarkets. The only area of improvement would be replacing some of the pans as they were very old and unusable, something which should be a quick fix."

"A good option. Photos are accurate. Clean, well equipped. Views are lovely from villa 1. ...a 5 minutes walk to lovely pool which is lovely especially on hot 33c day. Few maintenance items. Deck is lovely though less so on 33c ++ afternoon. Villa 1deck faces west socopes setting hot sun. Air-conditioning very useful..evening bedroom. Easy walk from villa 1 car park. Easy check in , key in door, Air-conditioning on. Negative is it was 25 minutes drive to the main mid week open vineyards in traditional Pokolbin region. Villas closer to Belford. One direction old north road is unsealed. Sealed option only extra 5 minutes to Pokolbin main region ( Harrigans, Brokenwood, Drayton, Ivanhoe)."
