Good points are the location, comfortable and clean bed (no duvet) and very pleasant staff. Bad points: a very old building with fixtures and fittings to match. No bedside sockets to charge things, two in the room and one stopped working, dirty sink plug, tiles not stuck properly, tired decor and painting. Sad, because it has potential but no money has been spent on it for some considerable time.

The hotel was located on the square in the middle of Pau. The location was good. However, you can see that the building is quite old. The room was spacious, but the bathroom was small, the shower pressure was very weak, and there were almost no amenities. The people at the reception were nice. There was air conditioning. If the hotel were rebuilt in this location, it could be reborn as a 4-star hotel. It's a shame that it's so old.

Great location on Place Clemenceau, within walking distance of major attractions. Decent breakfast. A great choice for exploring the area easily."

Terrible night. I stayed here as part of the 5 day cycle event Haute Route Pyrenees and having paid extra for a single room was extremely disappointed to find myself in a glorified cupboard. The ‘window’ was into an internal duct so at 1:30am I was wide awake and in desperate need of fresh air. I very much doubt that this room meets the French building regulations, it certainly wouldn’t meet the UK regulations.

Excellent value for money for this hotel ideally located in the center of Pau. The rooms are clean and cozy, and the buffet breakfast is generous and very affordable. The rooms are well heated and soundproofed. The welcome is particularly warm.

Great little hotel right in the center of Pau. I was a bit nervous at first when I saw its location on a fairly lively square. The double windows cut out all the noise and let nothing outside be heard. I recommend this place.

I booked a night in June 2023 with a window overlooking Place Clémenceau (orientation not chosen). I had a horrible night because of the noise from the square. There was a gathering right under my window, in "improvised evening" mode with music. I asked reception to do something, at least to go see them to lower the volume a little. The response was "no, we can't do anything, that's what happens when you take a hotel in the city center". Bottom line, as I still couldn't sleep because of the noise at 2 a.m. I called the police who came by to do a round. The impromptu evening ended at 3 a.m. The location is central but you really have to ask for a room that shouldn't be on the street side. The bedding is good. Belmol, no free parking. In short, I won't be coming back.
