JJasmine zicaiHyatt Centric truly impressed! Upon arrival, the staff were incredibly welcoming, especially the young man from the baggage team. He not only helped with our luggage and stored it for us but also informed us we could check in at 1 PM (the usual check-in time is 3 PM), which was a fantastic perk.
The hotel is centrally located, right across from a large shopping mall. Nearby, there are popular eateries like Fool Yuen and Xin Feng Bak Kut Teh, along with many restaurants catering to Chinese palates, and Sabah souvenir shops.
The breakfast was extensive, offering a wide variety of options. I especially loved having breakfast in the morning with views of the sea and a clear blue sky.
A taxi ride to Tanjung Aru during peak hours cost 35 RMB due to traffic congestion, but it was still convenient, and we even managed to check out the cultural wall.
I would definitely choose this hotel again when visiting Kota Kinabalu.

Spread of selection for you, noodles, rice, sushi, you name it! Definitely worth it! The scenery and view from the hotel room was breathtaking. You’re able to see Mt Kinabalu (if it’s not raining!). Sky is super bright by 5:45-6am, be sure to catch the sunrise ! Overall, no regret choosing this hotel for my 5D4N trip! 😊😊👍🏻👍🏻

GGuest UserThe Hotel is located at the area with many seafood restaurants and it is also convenient to access to different shops. On the first day, we were given a room without views that made us very unhappy. Then they agreed to change it to better views. The sensor of the light control was out of order on the third day, but they could fix it on the same day. The staff of the Hotel would send messages to connect with us. It was very helpful Hotel. Their breakfast was really fantastic, we highly recommended it.

YYEOW HENG CheongWe stayed in the Deluxe Family Room for 2 nights. Overall, everything was good, but the paid parking was a downside. It cost RM15 per entry/day, and I ended up paying RM45 throughout my stay. While it’s not a huge amount, I felt the hotel could have provided complimentary parking—especially when Le Méridien, located right in the middle of the city, offers it for free.

GGuest UserWe had an overnight stay in Kota Kinabalu with this provider before our hike to Mount Kinabalu.
Unfortunately, we were wrongly accused of taking two of their towels.
The management held RM300 of our deposit for towels that were clearly worn and wanted us to re-check our baggage thats already packed for the hike.
Despite explaining in detail where each of us had left the towels, the owner insisted the mistake was on our part.
We even went to the extent of unpacking and repacking all our hiking gear at Mount Kinabalu just to double-check — only to confirm what we already knew: we did not take anything.
In the end, while we were already at the summit of Mount Kinabalu, the missing towels mysteriously appeared at the doorstep of our unit.
Yet, not a single apology or acknowledgment was offered by the owner.
I dont have pic of the unit, nor towel, but here we are when the towel mysteriously appeared in front of their unit.
Very disappointing experience.

AAnonymous UserI recently stayed at Nexus Resort & Spa Karambunai, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas was well-maintained, making our stay comfortable and relaxing.
The location, however, is quite isolated, as the resort is located in Karambunai Peninsula, about 30–40 minutes from Kota Kinabalu city. It’s perfect if you want a peaceful escape by the beach, but not so convenient if you’re looking to explore the city or find nearby restaurants—options outside the resort are very limited and quite far.
The service was excellent, with very friendly and helpful staff who always greeted us warmly and tried their best to accommodate our requests. However, I noticed that the resort has become quite crowded lately, likely due to the recovery period after COVID-19 when businesses are starting to pick up again. Some areas are still under renovation, and it was clear they are in the midst of improving their facilities.
The amenities were good, with a beautiful beach, swimming pools, spa services, and recreational activities that kept us entertained throughout our stay.
Overall, Nexus Karambunai is a lovely place for a peaceful beach vacation, but be prepared for the distance from town and the current renovation works. Hopefully, once the recovery process is complete, the resort will be even better.
