We stayed at Hotel Associa Takayama Resort as part of our tour group. We had a spacious twin room on the 15th floor of the Alps Wing which was the largest room of our tour. The room was very comfortable as were the beds. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The resort is on the outskirts of Takayama but there is a shuttle bus into the centre of the city. There are limited restaurants in the hotel and 2 of them were booked out by the time we arrived. We managed to book into the Japanese restaurant and had a delicious meal there. The breakfast buffet didn't have cereal. There was a laundromat on the ground floor which consisted of a number of combined washing machine/dryers which dispensed their own detergent.

Location is convenient and overall service is good but there are better choices around definitely. Dinner and breakfast spread quite limited. Nice view of the garden but on 2 occasions the elderly Japanese just ignored the reserved tag I placed on the table and took my seats… suggest to place a more visible belongings to reserve it. Western room is adequate 18sqm. Poor noise cancellation as noise echos 20m down the hallways, metal room doors slamming, chairs dragging and phone vibrates in the next room can be heard. Not recommended if you’re a light or early sleeper, especially guests moving in/out along the corridors to take onsen bath. The hotel also hosts tour groups. Witnessed a tour group of Europeans. Koreans speaking on phone at hallways…etc.

This place was unexpected. We wanted to be in the center of town and have Western beds and booking from afar was a bit difficult so we found this online and went for it. We arrived and found a sort of dated but comfortable hotel with lovely staff. It was a bit formal with lots of rules about set menus and what time breakfast would be served. But the instructions were in English and the manager/owner and all the help were very helpful.

Yatsusankan is a traditional ryokan, well established in Hida. It’s located among narrow streets with picturesque Japanese style wooden buildings. Within walking distance of the JR station (they have a shuttle too) and shops. Our room was spacious and comfortable with its own bath. AC in the bedroom. Good wifi. Very clean and well stocked with toiletries, tea, coffee, and cold drinks. Meals are at set times and we enjoyed omikase and shabu shabu during our two night stay. We chose Japanese breakfast which was also delicious, although western style is also available. There’s a very nice communal bath, indoor and outdoor. One for men and one for women. The building has a long history so it’s worth looking around if you have time. Service is warm and attentive with guests being made to feel right at home. If you’re planning a visit to Hida or the area, then Yatsusankan would be a great choice to experience traditional ryokan with great service and a bit of history.

I can't comment on value as this was part of a cycle tour with my bike club (BAC) and Cycling Japan, but my room was really lovely and quiet with a great view. I loved the comfy bed and ergonomic desk chair. The onsen was on the top floor and really lovely with inside and outside pools. The staff was super helpful (the manager helped me find and reserve a wonderful dinner choice - Bistro Kanzo) and breakfast was also really good with local items (not your too-often too many overcooked and deep-fried items). Also, a perfect location for exploring Takayama. This is my 4th trip to Japan and I have stayed in so many accommodations on cycling and hiking tours, so I do have some context. For me, Alpina checked all of the boxes: room, view, staff, breakfast, onsen, location.

Takayama was easily the best place we visited during our entire visit to Japan. We stayed 2 nights in a Japanese style room with a private outdoor bath and dinner and breakfast. The room was absolutely beautiful - so spacious, clean, and luxurious, with all the amenities we could have needed. The outdoor bath was heavenly, and the view from the balcony was the icing on the cake. It was lovely to come back from dinner and have our futons laid out for us. If you’re looking for a truly traditional Japanese dining experience then look no further. We had a private dining booth, and the food was served in small courses. The food itself was very different to what we’re used to, and it was quite intimidating! But the staff did a good job at explaining what everything was and how to eat it. We were concerned that we might have communication issues since Hoshokaku is away from the big cities, and we weren’t sure how prominent English would be here. But the staff spoke the clearest English of any other accommodation we stayed at. They were so attentive all the time that we almost felt like royalty. We’re already planning to stay again when we next visit Japan! One last thing I’d like to mention is to address concerns in previous reviews about smoking in the building. I think this must be something which has completely changed; we didn’t get a whiff of smoke anywhere in the building. The entire place was immaculate and honestly a joy to wander around in.

Look for an inn to stay before taking the Shin Hotaka ropeway, and make a reservation to see the word of mouth that the food is delicious. As you say, the hot water was great, the food was delicious (especially HIDA beef, protrusion), and the cleaning was subtle (black mold on the bathroom curtain and the chair in the washroom of the rental bath, and the musty smell of the room). The staff is kind (especially the women who serve), so it is painful to write the following reviews, but I write it because it was not written in the word of mouth that I knew this first. It was a book on the table with the contents of ”Hida is the beginning of Japan”. The name of Arei Hieda, who orally handed down the contents of Manyoshu, seems to be the big key. I didn't know there was such a theory, but it's good, but when I looked at the author introduction at the end of the book, there was an advertisement that I was having a seminar to teach methods for people who want to escape bullying and want to succeed. I pulled it. I'm worried that this inn is okay when I write this book on the cover, ”I sell it at the shop.”, so I should remove this book. Also, this hotel is repeatedly extended and connected by a corridor with an intricate main building, an annex, and an annex, but along the corridor, there are many stuffed jars and plates lined up. (Until Hub and Mangoose that have nothing to do with Hida), the family was embarrassed. The child also ordered a meal, but is the child cold? I was worried that it was cold and fried shrimp croquettes. The same thing in the morning. It was good to have Hida beef (it looks like yakiniku sauce, so it's seasoned, so after all, the child ate adult steak). Now, adult 2, infant 2 (meal, It was said that 5 Mandai was expensive with futon.

8 Month 27 2 nights from day. When I arrived at the hotel, it rained and parked in front of the entrance. 1 time until check-in in the lobby. Immediately from the east building where the front lounge is located, the south building. There is a footbath at the end of the aisle and towels are also placed. Take the elevator to the 6 floor. Be careful as the elevator door closes early. The view from the room is mountains. The twin is large enough. The toilet and washroom in the unit bath are good. It's a pity that there is only one room key 1. The large communal bath is on the 1 floor of the East Building. There is no replacement for men and women. There are about 10 showers in the indoor bath. There is also an open-air bath. Charcoal is burned in the fireplace in front of the entrance of the indoor bath. There are also billiards. There is a heated pool with a depth of 90 cm outside. Although it is not big, there are few hotels in Okuhida with a pool. The meal is Fuyo, a suzuya on the 2nd floor of the East Building, and Japanese food is served with evening breakfast. It is good that there is no tempura in the kaiseki. Alcohol is cheap. There are two smoking areas, the terrace in front of the lobby of the East Building and the wooden deck outside the rest area with the fireplace in the South Building. The next day, around 13:00, I got on a slope car and went to the famous mixed bath open-air bath ”Yari no Yu”. The largest area in Okuhida, certainly wide. If the weather is nice, you can see Mt. Yarigatake. The man is half-pants style. Women wear shoulder-style bathing clothes. There is a dehydrator in the changing room for women, but not for boys.

The free transfer bus is operated at intervals of 30 minutes ~ 1 hours from the west exit of JR Takayama station, and guests can use it without reservation. There was a front desk, lobby, restaurant and open-air bath on the first floor, and the restaurant had dinner business, but this time I was allowed to use breakfast only. Although it was originally a reservation in a single room, it was good to have an upgrade to a twin room on the fourth floor at check-in, and the room was large 々 and I could sleep comfortably. It was good to be away from the urban area of HIDA Takayama and to taste the resort feeling at a reasonable price, but there were no restaurants and convenience stores around, and if you don't have a car, you will be around Takayama station in advance You need to finish the meal or buy it at takeout.

Breakfast was good, but the Japanese-style room 2010 was a bit dated! On February 2nd, the Shirakawa-mura Lighting Festival, the house price doubled more than 3,000 a night! There is a theft in booking a room in Japan: the room is charged according to the number of people. This room can accommodate 3 to 6 people. You can book 3 people for 4 people and 3 or 4 people for 5 people. living!

GGuest UserExcellent service and very nice and friendly staff that make you feel very welcome!! Definitely recommend and the location has a very peaceful atmosphere! Can’t forget the amazing food!
GGuest UserIt is far away from Takayama Station, but there are direct buses that take about one hour and fifteen minutes. This hotel is clean and tidy, with two private baths, pure Japanese style, and a large room. When you sleep at night, you feel like you are at the murder scene in Detective Conan. There is also a natural park around, which is very beautiful. It is very dark at night, so it is not suitable to go out and wander around. It is a suitable place for a one or two day trip.
GGuest UserTraditional Japanese-style inn, with a toilet and a washbasin in the room. You have to go to the public hot spring pool to take a bath. There are two outdoor hot spring pools to soak in, which is very good. We booked breakfast and dinner, the ingredients are very good, with a rich variety, and there is also Hida beef. The hotel is not far from the bus stop, and it is very convenient to walk there.
GGuest UserFrom the time I arrived by car to the time I checked in, I felt a welcome hospitality. There was a coffee service in the lobby lounge. The room was a room plan, and it was a Japanese room 8 tatami & wide edge. In the inn, as I spent almost on the wide edge with a chair, the window was small facing the parking lot, the ceiling was diagonal, and the head hit the threshold, so I said this room might be a translation. The Japanese room was normal, and the room had two keys and Wi-Fi. yukata can be selected for women. There is also cold water and electric pot. The bath was a source of Ni kind, with an open-air bath of sulfur spring and simple spring, and there were two open-air baths and two cherry blossom baths. From the simple spring of the open-air bath, the mountain of Hotaka 々 was desired. The inner bath is sulfur spring. The hot water flowers are sinking. The open-air bath was also large and impressed with the very good hot spring. The laundry wash area has amenities. Dinner was in the large hall and the space between tables was also sufficient. The Hotaka Kai seat was satisfied. Especially the cold tea bowl steaming of HIDA milk and HIDA mozzarella and the pottery plate baking of HIDA beef were especially delicious. Also dessert (cheese cake, caramel pudding was delicious, HIDA melon and pine were sweet. sake was first asked for a cold sake of local sake, but later, a cold sake of local sake was 3 books and is currently discounted at 2000 I noticed that there was a circle later and I had a 3 book set. I enjoyed the difference between the sake 3 seeds and each taste. The meal attendant feels good, and the chakkaman is also on the table. So it was good to bake meat or bake at your favorite time. Breakfast was the same venue. If you are young, you may not have a volume, but it was a good amount for us in mature years. There is also coffee and tea service. It is a hotel in front of the ropeway in Hotaka. I thought it was good to stay at a hotel with good hot springs, meals and customer service, and to come far.
SstegghisWe booked double private room. Bathroom and shower were always prefectly cleaned! The room comfortable. They have also a washer and dryer machine... Really usefull! The staff were so kind polite and helpful! The guest house is a little bit far from the center but if you walk not on the main roads the walking path could be also enjoyable. Top:the tables outside! We spent evening outside enjoying the quiet and calm of the night. We suggest it!
5587skytripperOur stay at Oyado Hachibee was wonderful! The rooms are peaceful, the staff is welcoming, and the meals are delicious. We enjoyed the baths immensely. If you're nervous about traditional Japanese food, don't be, it was very tasty and there are many things to try. We appreciated the coin-op laundry. The hotel is a 30 minute walk (partly uphill) from town, which is doable, but there's also a bus that runs twice per hour. We took the hotel shuttle back to the train station. While you're in Takayama, check out old town and the shrine walk. Excellent hospitality! Highly recommended.
GGuest UserThis was a welcome visit, it was part of our package that we bought when we were visiting Shinhotaka Ropeway, on our return the bus dropped us off at the bus stop and we got to spend an hour at this onsen. Ever since I have visited Japan I’ve always wanted to sit in one of their onsens during winter and this time zi got my chance, fair to say that it was probably about 0 degrees if not less but the water in the onsen was about 40 degrees, it was so beautiful sitting in the onsen with snow all around us, if you get the chance please stop here for a soak.
Mmegmeg1130It was very reasonable in Hirayu Onsen hot spring and found an inn close to the bus terminal. The front desk was Japanese that was not foreign and did not blur, but responded with a smile. I thought I was going to take my luggage to the room, but I got off the elevator and put my luggage down in front of me and she left. When I was rowing, I found two rooms without numbers. I opened the key and entered there. I booked a large room called a family room, but it seems that I use it as a room by dividing two rooms which were banquet hall. I heard that there was no toilet and bath in the room, but there was no washbasin. There was one small refrigerator. There is no closet, no hanger, no towel hanger. Except for the next room (because the key was open) there was a floor between the floor and two closets. Apparently our room seems to be on the lower seat side. It is severe that there is no towel hanger in the hot spring inn, so when I went to the front desk, the staff went to take it while laughing ”I will take my room”. There were 4 hot springs and all were rental baths. This was also separated from the inner bath and the open-air bath. So there is no washing place or shower in the open-air bath. The hot water is pumped from the bathtub by the hot water bucket, and the body is washed from the bathtub. I 々 Japanese are rare now, but it will be more difficult for foreigners. I expect that there is no hot water. And there is no washbasin or mirror on the hot water, so you can't dryer. Our room has no washbasin, so you can't go to the bathroom in the morning. (The toilet on the floor is small and the face cannot be washed) Moreover, if it is not inner hot water, there is no washbasin, so I can't polish my teeth. Breakfast was usually a hot spring inn menu, and there was a small pot and the volume seemed to be (we stayed overnight). But we will never go to stay here anymore.
GGuest UserAs the inn's brochure says, ”It feels like it happened a long time ago.” This is an inn where time passes by. The name “Hina no Yu” is “Hina No Hina”. The room was large, about 12 tatami mats, and had a bed, table and chair set. There was also a wide veranda and a porch surrounding the room. The restroom also has a standing restroom for men, and I mentioned that it's rare for an inn to have a men's restroom. When I asked later, I was told that this room was only for boys. Even though I turned off the air conditioner, there was a nice breeze coming in from outside, and I could hear the chirping crows, and we both took a nap after taking a bath. The hot spring had a slight smell of sulfur. The indoor bath was hot and the outdoor bath was lukewarm, which was very comfortable during this hot season. It is a good hot spring with flowing water directly from the source. There are no lotions in the bathroom, so it is better to bring the amenity set provided in your room. There is a rest area near the bath. As I was drinking cold tea, a cool breeze came in from outside through the screen door, and I felt nostalgic for summers before, thinking, ``It's so cool in the evening.'' It's too hot everywhere now. Takahara-juku in the summer is nice and cool. In the rest area, videos of Hotaka and Mt. Yarigatake were shown on the TV, and I watched them while relaxing and drinking something cold. Dinner was served in a private room in a different room. The hinamori was a colorful appetizer with lots of different kinds of seasonal summer vegetables. The sashimi was rock fish and local salmon, the grilled fish was grilled sweetfish, and the ceramic grilled bite-sized steak was Hida beef. The rice was unique and could be eaten as is. A glass of local sake was 660 yen and went well with the food. Breakfast was also served in a private room. The overnight-dried puffer fish and tofu were delicious, and I ended up having a second helping of rice with grilled magnolia miso. After the meal, we had coffee in the lounge in the front area. The coffee cup was in a cup warmer, which was a nice touch since I like hot coffee. Especially in the winter, when you're servicing coffee, the cup gets cold and the coffee ends up lukewarm. In the lounge, there was relaxing classical music playing. It's a shame because it's only cash-only when paying, or because I'm a cashless person. I felt that the quiet landlady and the host had a firm concept for the inn. I entered the hot springs at 2pm and left at 11am, and it was a really relaxing stay.
効効三 徳Nakao Kogen Hotel windmill is a new Hotaka Onsen hot spring in OKU HIDA Onsen go Nakao, Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture It is a hotel in the hotel. It is also close to the Shin Hotaka ropeway. This time, I will stay here for seven consecutive nights. This day visited Mizuna Jinja shrine in ichinomiya, HIDA Province on October 13, 2020. I drove from there and came to Nakao Kogen Hotel windmill. Be careful because the entrance is less 々 hard to understand. There is a large parking lot in front of the building. The entrance is like a rock wall and is cool. Perhaps it is imitating Nishi Hotaka Dake. The lobby is unexpectedly tatami mats. Take off your shoes at the entrance and enter. The interior that impresses the sum is conscious of the inbound, such as the writing on the wall. This time, the GOTO travel and the regional coupon are used, and the tre is booked at 8,400 yen ⇒ 5,500 yen with breakfast for one night in one room. I leave check-in to tre and go back. The lounge is open and quite nice. In addition, there is a large lounge on the accommodation floor. This time I stayed in room 202 on the 2 floor. It is a large room with sofas and desks in a twin room. Moreover, the room bath is a hot spring of the cherry blossom bath! There is also a terrace. It seems that you can see Mt. tsurugatake from here (at this time it was cloudy and I couldn't see it, but I saw it later) I'm glad to stay for a consecutive night because the closet is large. The toilet is hot water toilet seat and there is a washbasin inside. Wifi is exploding when it is empty. But it became heavy at night. It may be empty due to the new corona virus, but it is acceptable. Get into the hot spring in the room immediately. It is a very spring quality with a sulfur fragrance. Moreover, it is possible to enter immediately 24 hours by the source hanging water. It's too good! The bath is beer on the terrace. After all, the beer on the bath is good, close to the bath. I go to the third floor the next morning of the mountain climbing. There is a restaurant. Breakfast here. There is a drink bar, but no time pattern buffet is held. It is a full breakfast with various side dishes. It is exhausted in a wonderful word. The room is large and there is a hot spring in the room. The hot spring is a sulfur spring and has a full sense of satisfaction. It is a location where you can see Mt. tsurugatake in Nishi Hotaka Dake in front of you, and you can jump into the hot spring in the room immediately even if you are tired of climbing. So it is about 2500 yen with breakfast for one person, and it is a cheap price. I've always wanted to live (laughs) What I need to be careful about is the desklight. When you switch off, the outlet in the desk is also off. I was charging my smartphone and I fell into a sad situation that I couldn't charge it when I woke up in the morning. It was a pity that there was no attention though it was quite important.
