"Upon arrival, we were delighted to receive a complimentary upgrade to a beachfront pool villa and were already very satisfied with the room's amenities. However, about two hours after checking in, a sudden strong wind blew down some tree branches right outside our villa, landing in the garden. My original intention was just to take a photo and ask the butler to have it cleared. To my surprise, the butler immediately took the matter very seriously, promptly offering us a room change and another upgrade to an even higher-tier room. The new room was incredibly spacious, with a huge 4-meter bed. Housekeeping was super efficient; they would clean the room immediately whenever we stepped out. The attention to detail was impeccable. We stayed for two days and were absolutely delighted. We also took the hotel's complimentary trip to Hong Island, which was a wonderful experience. One evening, we also had the pleasure of meeting a guest relations manager from China, who very warmly recommended dishes from the Thai restaurant menu. The dining experience was absolutely spectacular! The stir-fried spinach with egg, raw beef curry, and pomelo salad are absolute must-order dishes! Both the service and the overall experience were flawless – truly deserving of a perfect score! We would absolutely return to Krabi just for this hotel. Upon check-out, the butler even presented us with a small gift, indicating they truly took our conversations to heart."

"The scenery is absolutely stunning, and the beach is incredible! The forest environment is very tranquil; I got lost every day, and there were even cute lemurs~ The room was also excellent, very spacious and tidy, with a Southeast Asian decor style. The hotel service was also great, with plenty of activities, and the breakfast and afternoon tea were very good. The hotel's cave restaurant and Thai restaurant were surprisingly delicious, and combined with the scenic views, it offered fantastic value for money! The only issue is that the round-trip transportation costs extra and is quite expensive, but I still absolutely love this hotel and would definitely come back if I get the chance."

"The facility was great and it was beautiful and it did offer a number of amenities but I will be honest the service wasn’t the greatest. I felt as if as a paying customer I was constantly being treated like I was a burden for asking for things like “extending my say” I don’t want to generalize and say it was all the workers there was a man named “Chan” who had a very passive aggressive attitude with me and other people there. I understand that it’s a 5 star resort and it is on the pricier side but it constantly felt like they were also trying to capitalize on the necessities you’ll need because it is on an isolated island. (Word of advice go to the local village for things like pharmacy needs, cosmetic and booking boats and excursions it’s 10 times cheaper.) At the resort they will do things like charge nearly 30$ for a bottle of sunscreen at the gift shop because they know you’ll need it. Going back to this I tried to extend my stay with them and Chan told me I was going to have to pay double the original price if I wanted to stay another night I quickly went online and saw that it was half the price that he quoted and just immediately felt quite put off and like he was doing whatever possible to milk us financially when we are already being generous and willing customers. I was in a group of four people and everyone in my group had stomach issues after eating at the breakfast buffet so that was a problem as well. We were also not told that on the resort is a mosque and you will be woken up to the call of prayer frequently. I have no problem with people exercising there religious traditions I would just like a forewarning about being woken at 5AM to hear the it."

"They offer Chinese-speaking services, and the coast is absolutely stunning with soft, white sands and 'jelly-like' clear waters. The service is as exceptional as what you'd expect from a Ritz-Carlton – truly outstanding and international standard. Our butler was incredibly attentive, arranging afternoon tea and evening turn-down service daily. The dining was decent, with a good mix of Western and Thai cuisine. What really sets this place apart is the complimentary activities like yoga, sailing, and kayaking, making it incredible value for money. Honestly, just book the Banyan Tree Krabi without hesitation. The service here, compared to the Banyan Tree Sanya, is a world apart – this one is far superior with fantastic activities. A special thanks to the hotel's Chinese butler! We'll definitely be back, especially with the daily fresh fruit delivery."

"Great beachfront hotel with friendly, smiling staff. The kids' pool is amazing and very safe. Excellent family atmosphere and the AC is very cold. Areas to improve: Found dust on items like the hairdryer and in the bathtub; housekeeping should use vacuums and ensure bed linens are changed. Also, there's a bad odor from the ground-floor waste area. Despite this, we loved our stay and ”will definitely be back!”"

"We stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel exudes luxury and tranquility with a beautiful view. Despite being right in the city center, you wouldn't know it. Upon check-in, there was a misunderstanding regarding whether our booked room would have a bathtub. After some discussion, we were offered an upgrade to a room with a Jacuzzi on the balcony! The room is fully equipped with all amenities, and drinking water is refilled daily. The staff at this hotel are incredibly friendly. Everyone goes out of their way to give you an unforgettable experience. There are 3 different saltwater pools and 2 restaurants. You can also order food and drinks via a QR code to be delivered to your sun lounger by the pool. The breakfast is very extensive and delicious. You can enjoy the view during breakfast both indoors and outdoors. There's also a fitness room with brand-new equipment. I honestly can't think of anything negative about this hotel, and if we're ever in Krabi again, we will definitely be back!"

"Came to Krabi for Chinese New Year and stumbled upon this hotel. Turned out to be a fantastic find! (Though the price wasn't cheap, the overall experience was great, so it was worth it). The room on the third floor was quite spacious with a separate shower and toilet. My son absolutely loved the pool right outside – he could jump in anytime without even leaving the room. The hotel's overall decor has a unique Egyptian terracotta style, which makes for some great photos. The semi-buffet breakfast was also excellent, with plenty of Chinese and Western options. Ordering by scanning a QR code reduced waiting times, which felt more comfortable than self-service. Overall, highly recommended and worth a stay!"

"We had an overall enjoyable stay at Sofitel in Krabi, with a few areas that could be improved—especially given the expectations of a five-star property. The location is a clear highlight. The beach is calm and relatively private, without the usual crowd of boats, which made for a very relaxing environment. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety and consistently good quality. The overall decor of the lobby and restaurants was also beautifully done, creating a pleasant and refined atmosphere for both breakfast and dinner. However, service was somewhat inconsistent. Room service could be slow at times, and on a few occasions, items like trash left outside the room were not cleared promptly. There were also communication lapses—for example, we had requested assistance to coordinate with an elephant sanctuary, but the message was not properly followed through between staff members. There were also minor maintenance issues, such as a non-functioning balcony light, which we chose not to escalate but would have expected to be addressed proactively at this level. For a family room, we expected more thoughtful child-friendly design. Simple things like a stool for children to reach the sink were missing, which made basic routines unnecessarily difficult and less safe. The pool facilities were decent but not outstanding, and cleanliness could be improved. In particular, the kiddie pool had visible debris and bugs, which made it less comfortable for young children. We also found the pool safety setup confusing and somewhat concerning. There were clear warnings stating that there are no lifeguards and that parents are responsible for supervision. However, there was consistently a staff member seated by the pool under a shaded area, appearing like a lifeguard but not actively monitoring the pool. This created a misleading impression and could give families a false sense of security. During our stay, we also witnessed a situation where a child became stuck under part of the pool obstacle structure, and assistance had to be actively requested from nearby staff. While the situation was resolved, it reinforced our concern that supervision and safety measures could be more proactive. Given the number of safety warnings posted around the pool, we were surprised that no trained lifeguard was present, especially as the current setup may give families a false sense of supervision. One of the main drawbacks was the pricing structure. Many services and items felt excessively priced, including: • Food at the on-site restaurants (significantly higher than comparable options outside the resort) • Transport and excursion arrangements (e.g., speedboat pricing well above market rates) • Activity rentals, such as the Sub Blue underwater scooter (350 THB++ for 30 minutes), which felt disproportionately expensive • Additional charges for small requests, including delivery fees for food within the property These added costs created a sense of being “nickel-and-dimed,” which detracted from the overall experience. Overall, while we appreciated the beautiful location, excellent breakfast, and well-designed spaces, we felt that service consistency, family-friendliness, safety clarity, and value for money could be improved to better align with five-star expectations."

"Short getaway trip, love the hospitality level, the scenery and the food in both (Thai & Italian) restaurants. There were fire show performance (Saturday night only) & live band (daily) and anarray of activities offered to residents such as yoga, muay thai, paddle boat and jungle trekking, for free! Definitely recommended!"
