This hotel is just very near to Kyoto station. Follow west exit Hachijio way, right turn.  It located opposite the station, same row with Avanti but further down towards Aeon side.   Like the room very spacious where we can open both of our big luggage. Fridge also big and cool. Impress with its Nespresso machine. From my room can clearly see the train and Miyako City hotel. Will definitely stay again on my next trip.

This hotel reminds me the classic and typical style of Japanese hotel setups, very clean, simple and tasty breakfast and friendly service. It’s just 15 minutes walking distance to Kyoto main station where is quite accessible to many destinations. The best part is the public hot spring, it offers a comfortable environment and great service time, reliving myself from crazy day trip walk at Kyoto, strongly recommend!

Within a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station. An ideal location for both sightseeing and business use. Recommended not only for Kyoto sightseeing but also for those who wish to visit Osaka and Nara. There is a large shopping mall right in front of the facility, providing everything necessary for living and staying. A convenience store is also within a 1-minute walk. All beds are equipped with high-quality Simmons mattresses, ensuring a good night's sleep in a short time.

GGuest User 2025.11.10
The location was fantastic. Super close to Kyoto Station and opposite Aeon shopping mall. The showers were hot and the hair dryers were good. My only complaint would be about the kitchen. There was no fridge to store food and only a microwave. No plates or utensils either. Also the lounge area was only available for guests at breakfast and in the afternoon till evening - not during the middle of the day. Kyoto is a beautiful city and I recommend the Kyoto Trail for those who like to walk and travel in an authentic way. The Trail winds around many of the shrines and tourist areas as well as the beautiful hills surrounding Kyoto.

Hotel Elite Kyoto Station is a modern and comfortable hotel that opened in March 2021. Conveniently located within walking distance of Kyoto Station, it is an ideal choice for both sightseeing and business travelers. All rooms are non-smoking, equipped with free Wi-Fi, and feature TVs with access to YouTube and other streaming services. In the lobby, guests can enjoy complimentary coffee and other beverages available 24 hours a day.

SShitoujiejie 2026.03.07
The hotel offers luggage storage, which is convenient for dropping off bags before check-in. You just need to pick them up by the end of the day after check-out. They even let me bring my folding bike into the room, even though they initially suggested parking it outside. The biggest highlight is the complimentary drinks and water available in the lobby – both hot and cold. I only had the iced yogurt drink and hot onion soup, as I don't drink coffee. There's also a microwave in the lobby, which I imagine is well-used since the hotel's location is a bit out of the way, making dining and shopping less convenient. The room itself has a safe, fridge, and TV. The bathroom provides bath towels, and toothbrushes and combs are available for self-service in the lobby. (You can see photos of the self-service drink machine in other guest reviews). The room is small but charming. The first floor has very high ceilings, with another level above, but the ladder has been removed so I couldn't see what was up there. The bedside table was very clean, but the desk was a bit dirty (perhaps just faded from age), and I spent a long time cleaning it. For a while at night, there was a strange sound in the room, like running water, but no one was using water in the middle of the night. It went on for quite a while, which slightly affected my sleep. Perhaps because it's the off-season, I got a much better deal than usual this time, significantly boosting the value for money. I hope I can find such a great price again if I have the chance to revisit next year.

A stay at Hotel Keihan Kyotoeki Minami places you in the heart of Kyoto, within a 5-minute drive of Kyoto Tower and Tofuku-ji Temple. GGuest User 2026.02.01
I've stayed at a few Keihan Group hotels, and they've all been great, but this Kyoto Station South hotel is particularly excellent. The Chinese-speaking front desk staff provided fantastic service during check-in, making me feel truly at home. I also got lucky this time; I arrived at 12 PM and was able to check in early. The daily breakfast is also incredible value for money; 1980 yen on its own isn't expensive at all, and it's an absolute steal when bundled with the room. The 11 AM check-out time is very reasonable, and the luggage storage facilities are excellent, making you feel very secure. However, the self-service lockers fill up quickly, so you often have to leave your bags with the staff. All the amenities are thoughtful and convenient. The only minor drawback is that the expensive hairdryer is too large, taking up space and being awkward to use in the small bathroom. In the afternoons, you can also enjoy complimentary coffee and drinks at the restaurant. The location is unbeatable; it's right across the street from Hachijo Exit, making shopping, dining, and public transport incredibly convenient. The bus to Kansai Airport is also nearby, which is much more comfortable than taking the train. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Kyoto.

Decided to visit Kyoto with my parents last minute, and the price for this hotel was quite good for a last-minute booking. It's very close to Kyoto Station, just a 5-minute walk. Plus, it's near the airport limousine bus stop, which was super convenient for our departure; we took the bus directly to Osaka Itami Airport and arrived in just 50 minutes. Check-in was done via a machine, which was very easy – just grab your room key and breakfast vouchers. The staff were also on hand to offer assistance. The room size was decent, not cramped for three people, and it was clean and tidy. The breakfast had a great variety, and my parents were very happy with it. We'd definitely stay here again.

The hotel is located in a major street, near a bus stop, and close to Kyoto station, which is easy to commute to many places. There is no room cleaning during your stay. Your used towel must be left in front of the room, and a new set will be hung at the room door. Breakfast is bread, jam, and instant noodle. Oh... There is a machine for coffee and corn soup. I found out that you have to pay tax when you check in. Surprise to me because I thought the price I paid including a tax.

The room itself wasn't huge, but it was well-equipped and pretty quiet. However, my window was on the side and covered with opaque paper. Looking at the floor plan, it seemed like two rooms might have windows facing each other, so they probably covered them to avoid any awkwardness. Plus, the window was really hard to open, so it basically felt like a windowless room. The location was great though, right opposite Kyoto Station.

The location is pretty good, very close to Kyoto Station. The hotel is clean and well-equipped. The only downside is that the two beds are pushed together. After booking on Trip.com, I still had to pay a tax upon arrival. I thought it was a deposit, and when checking out, I stupidly went to the front desk to ask for it back. The staff member looked totally bewildered 😳 If you want your room cleaned, you absolutely have to hang the sign outside your door. This is different from China, where cleaning is usually assumed.

RReneehuangHighly Recommended Stay in Kyoto I would like to strongly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Kyoto. The staff demonstrate exceptional professionalism and hospitality. In particular, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Miss Yuki, who assisted us with our check-in and kindly introduced many wonderful sightseeing spots and activities in Kyoto, as well as to Miss Tsai, a ********* staff member who supported us during check-out with great warmth and care. Their thoughtful service truly reflects the welcoming spirit of Kyoto and the hotel’s commitment to excellence. I am genuinely impressed by the quality of the team members who bring guests happiness and satisfaction through their dedication. They truly deserve recognition and applause for their outstanding service. Our two-night stay was far too short, and we are already looking forward to returning in the near future.

SsinabroayaI was looking for a quiet guesthouse in Kyoto, and this one, a clean, 4-story building located in a residential area, fit the bill perfectly. The laundry facilities, shower room, kitchen, and lounge on the second floor were great. I enjoyed cooking my own meals and listening to music there – it was a really comfortable experience. From the 5th-floor rooftop, I could see Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Sanjusangendo Temple. Kyoto Tower was also visible in the distance. Kamo River is nearby, so I went for runs in the mornings. Being a Class 1 water source, I saw many winter migratory birds and various other birds. I also saw many couples on dates and people taking photos. With Shichijo subway station right next door, I could get to Shijo Station in the city center directly. It was also convenient for trips to Uji City and Osaka. Attractions like Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Fushimi Inari-taisha, Kyoto National Museum, Sanjusangendo Temple, Yasaka Pagoda, Kyoto Women's University, and Kyoto University of Arts and Design are all close by. I often had lunch at the cafeteria of Kyoto University of Arts and Design before exploring in the afternoon. There's also a restaurant on the first floor where you can eat while looking out at the road towards Kamo River. There's a Sapporo Ramen shop nearby – I recommend the slightly spicy one for 1350 yen. There's also a CoCo Ichibanya Curry House. I tried the handmade tonkatsu with extra vegetables for 1380 yen – it was delicious! Additionally, there's an unmanned store selling frozen gyoza and frozen dim sum. I highly recommend the frozen dim sum, all for 1,000 yen. There's also a specialty liquor store that sells fresh sake from its refrigerated display. I recommend the sake wrapped in newspaper or plastic in the fridge. The production date is clearly marked on the label. It was truly excellent, a fantastic experience. I think I stayed for about 25 days. Initially, I loved the single room because the morning sun streamed in every day. Since it was winter, it was cold to sleep without anything, so I brought an electric blanket and stayed warm. A free-voltage electric blanket is essential. Later, an alumnus from my high school joined me, and we used the 4th-floor tatami room. The residential area viewed from the tatami room window was so peaceful and relaxing. Watching snow fall in Kyoto from there was a wonderful experience. And most importantly, the owner! The owner greeted us with a smile every morning, and their smile is beautiful. They spoke a little Korean, so we communicated using Papago and hand gestures. Since I don't speak any Japanese, I used Papago frequently. There's also Manita, the guesthouse's mascot, a charming young lady from Nepal on a working holiday in Japan. She smiles a lot and studies Japanese diligently. During my stay at Winter Villa, I saw the beautiful owner and Manita multiple times every day. Our communication involved a few English words, a few Japanese phrases, and Papago did the rest. If you want to walk along Kyoto's Kamo River and experience the city's tranquility, I highly recommend this place. I spent the winter here, and I can imagine how nice it would be to have a beer on the rooftop of Winter Villa in early summer, looking at the sky and stars.

IiamnotdelicateThe basic room type isn't in the main building; you have to walk up to the main building each time to have breakfast or soak in the onsen (hot spring). And it's not a real onsen; my friend's superior room was the real onsen. We were given a small room at the back of the hotel, but thankfully there weren't too many graves. When I asked the staff at the entrance to take photos for me, they were very reluctant and had a sour face. At night, on my way back to my room from my friend's, the receptionist on duty in the lobby was also very rude. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the service. The facilities are excellent, very new, and the hotel is quite small, but that's typical for Japanese hotels. The decor is also very nice; the aesthetics are on point. There are at least three cemeteries and a bunch of shrines nearby; bring some amulets if you like.

GGuest UserThis hotel offers incredible value for money! It's super convenient, just a 5-minute walk from Kyoto JR Station. The streets on both sides of the hotel are lined with small restaurants and pubs, and there's a medium-sized drug store (Don Quijote) at the corner. The room was clean and tidy, and we could see Kyoto Tower right from our window. I especially recommend the hotel's shampoo – it's really good! 😊 The room was spacious enough for two adults and two 28-inch suitcases, with plenty of room to spare. There are USB charging ports by the bed. There's no kettle in the room, so you'll need to bring your own and an adapter. The breakfast on the first floor is a set meal, costing around 60 RMB per person. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserAlthough it was short, I loved my stay here. Had great quality of sleep. Good base for Kyoto, near enough to key locations, but expect a lot of walking unless you use the bus. Nearest station is Kyoto Kawaramachi which is great for day drips just outside central Kyoto and if you are coming from Osaka or Kansai airport - see my tips below. Pros: great bathroom and toiletries, good water pressure and temperature, smart toilet, TV with streaming services, fridge, desk/stool, coat hooks (handy for winter time), semi-full length mirror, luggage rack, various lights to adjust to your preference, very clean, super comfortable firm mattress and pillows, good soundproofing for light sleepers, great air conditioning (room warms up pretty quickly in the winter), you can also open the windows which is nice, felt very safe as a solo female, can ask for more water bottles in reception, lift was never crowded, outlets next to bed, has luggage storage if you need, near the river and traditional streets for scenic strolls, close to bus stop, family mart otw from station for late night snacks. Cons: can hear police cars or cars with loud engines at night sometimes but not frequent, walking from the station with a suitcase was a bit longer than expected, my double room was a bit cramped for opening suitcase (could not open the front or bathroom doors fully to avoid hitting my suitcase) and I am one person (two suitcases would fit but you wouldn't be able to walk around the bed properly). Tips: If you are coming from Kansai airport (KIX), I recommend you take the airport limousine to Namba (bought a return ticket since it is cheaper). It drops you outside JR Namba station, you can go inside to get to the metro station, follow signs for the red Midosuji Line. Board the train to Umeda. Stay inside the station and follow signs for Osaka-Umeda or the brown Hankyu-Kyoto line. This line goes directly to Kyoto Kawaramachi station. When stations, always look for the lift signs if you have luggages. I think I took the lift closest to Exit 4, and it brings you up to a department store. You kinda have to walk through and get out. If you walk out the front entrance, there are a few steps, but if you go to the side doors, it has a slope to avoid carrying suitcases. It's a straight walk from the station. Unless you are doing day trips, Kyoto city buses are a lot better mode of transport in my opinion.

GGuest UserFacilities: My only complaint is that the king-size bed in the king room is made of two single mattresses pushed together, and after sleeping on it for a while, a gap forms between them. Hygiene: The hygiene is excellent. Environment: The surrounding area is very quiet, and there are convenience stores not too far away. Service: The service attitude is great, and the hotel even offers free shuttle service to Kyoto Station.

GGuest UserThe hotel is quite a long walk from Kyoto Station; it took us about 20+ minutes on foot to get there. You could take the bus, but it doesn't really save much time. There's a good ramen shop right next to the hotel that even gave our child a toy. The room isn't huge, but there's enough space for luggage. The lobby downstairs offers free coffee, which I enjoyed every morning.

AAnonymous UserThe biggest drawback was the size of the room for the price we paid. We could not even open our suitcases on the floor. There is no water in your room, you have to go downstairs to have a drink of water. Do not have breakfast there, it's too expensive (if you cannot eat everything) . There is a supermarket (LIFE) a few meters away with a very nice bakery. The hotel do however have all the toiletries available next to reception counter. Also coffee in the mornings from 6.30am with water and juice. A sauna and a hot pool, but you have to be in your *************. Not suitable for everyone. I enjoyed our bathroom the most, as the shower was amazing.

DDr.p3pp3rI stayed here in a double room and overall had a pretty good experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and both the air conditioning and heater worked very well. One thing that really stood out was the bathroom — the bathtub was much larger than what you usually get in Japan. I’m a tall person, and I could actually sit down and lie back comfortably, which is rare. Most hotel baths feel very small, but this one felt closer to around 1.4m in length, which made having a bath genuinely enjoyable. The bed was comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job — the bed was made every day with fresh sheets. Wi-Fi was also very fast, which was a big plus. Amenities were decent, and you can pick up extra items if you need them. Check-in is a bit late at 3pm, which I didn’t love, but that’s balanced out by an 11am checkout. Having that extra time in the morning made it feel worth it overall. I did have a couple of negatives. The strangest one was finding an old sock behind the TV when I arrived. It was very obvious and not hidden, so I’m not sure how it was missed during cleaning. It was a bit gross, but I just left it. Another downside was the mini fridge — it’s more like a cooler than a real fridge. It keeps drinks from getting warm, but they don’t get properly cold. In summer, this really wouldn’t be good enough. Replacing it with a proper mini fridge would be a big upgrade. The other major issue was the lift. It is painfully slow, and there’s only one lift for the upper floors. On checkout day, I left my room about 10 minutes before checkout time, and I almost didn’t make it downstairs in time because of how slow it was. That part was honestly pretty ridiculous. Location-wise, this hotel is excellent. It’s very easy to get to from Kyoto Station — just head south and you’re there in about 4–5 minutes. It’s also very convenient when leaving Kyoto by train. A tip for using the subway: instead of going back to Kyoto Station, walk right from the hotel to Shijō Station. It’s on the same subway line, you’ll get on before Kyoto Station, and the train is empty — so you’re almost guaranteed a seat and can ride comfortably to your destinations. For food and shopping, there’s a shopping mall just across the road toward the station with a Don Quijote, McDonald’s, and other options. The hotel is also right next to a Coco Ichibanya curry house, which is fantastic and open late. Overall, despite a few odd issues, this was a solid stay with a great location, good comfort, and very easy access to transport. I’d happily consider staying here again.
