The room was nice, and they even let me check in half an hour early, which was great. My only complaint is that construction vehicles started arriving and working outside my window at 7:05 AM. I don't understand why! In China, construction usually doesn't start until after 8 AM. Don't people in Edinburgh mind this much noise?

The location of this hotel is just on the border of the city centre, so it feels a lot quieter compared to right on the High Street.
My room was a windowless Queen Room, with plenty of storage space for 2 people. I quite like the design of the room, where 1 side of the room is the washing facilities.
Unfortunately, the night when I stayed, there were many loud door slamming during the night. I've got woken up many times.
I had the breakfast downstairs at around 9:30am, and it closes at 10am. The hot food was very dry, so probably been sitting around for some time. If I stay here again, I would go elsewhere for breakfast.

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel overall. The location is a bit far from the main tourist attractions, but it was still manageable and didn’t significantly affect our trip.
The room was comfortable and clean, and we appreciated the overall atmosphere. However, we did notice a few areas for improvement. One thing that stood out was the placement of the power outlets, which were quite far from the bed. It made charging our phones a bit inconvenient, as we had to sit at the table while waiting, especially when uploading photos and sharing our experiences.
Despite these small inconveniences, we still enjoyed our stay. With a few minor improvements to the room amenities, the experience could be even better.

The hotel is very clean, and the breakfast is absolutely amazing. The room overall is great. The toilet is well maintained and with the best coffee and tea, and even snacks!
Although main drawbacks are, first, as my room is without windows, a television is replaced by with live stream of outside view, however, it keeps flashing and I have to turn it off. Then, No WiFi for 2 days, which I can only rely on my data, which I think they should provide SIM card or other things that can help access to the internet. And the parking is a bit expensive, 15 gbp per day.

It's a good hostel, right in the center, a couple of minutes' walk from all the sights. I liked everything, but there was one downside: I was cold in the evening. At first, I thought someone had opened the window, but no, it was just a draft from the frames, and there was no heating anymore. The next day it was warmer outside, and in the hostel, too.
If you want your pick of upmarket shops and historic landmarks, you'll be hard pressed to beat Premier Inn Edinburgh City Centre (Princes Street) Hotel. Steeped in history and majesty, today's Princes Street is a pedestrianised mecca of top retail brands, with pub-packed Rose Street on one side and the beautiful Princes Street Gardens along the other. Across the road from the hotel is The Mound, connecting Princes Street to Old Town, and Edinburgh Castle and the famous Royal Mile are a short (but steep) 15 minute walk. Then it's homeward bound to a delicious meal with a castle view at our Thyme restaurant. Then get comfy in our luxury king-size Hypnos bed.

Both being Premier Inns, the Edinburgh branch has significantly better facilities than the London one. Since there weren't any other options when booking, I had to choose one with a walk-in bathroom – and wow, that bathroom was the size of the entire room at the London one! Breakfast was served in a separate outdoor restaurant; the room was spacious, with a wide variety of choices and delicious food. While the London Premier Inn is already quite good, the Edinburgh Premier Inn is truly amazing! This is the difference between the London and non-London areas. Plus, it's not far from any of the major attractions; everything is within walking distance.

The hotel is considerably in front of the Haymarket Station but can be walkable to Princes Street and to all other tourist spots. Our room was small for the two of us but we cant complain as it was clean. It has TV, aircon/heater, towels, and you can ask for disposable toothbrush in the reception. We enjoyed their free coffee and tea during our stay. The staff were also nice.

Room was quite small but very thoughtfully laid out. Bed was extremely comfortable and the amenities were good quality - Molton Brown toiletries, GHD hairdryer and Nespresso coffee machine. The complimentary drink at 5pm was a nice touch. The only downside was the lack of breakfast in the hotel itself. However, we had a good discounted breakfast at The Huxley and a 50% discount at Castle Terrace car park.

The hotel was lovely, the bed was comfortable, the reception staff was welcoming and amazing!
I was thoroughly disappointed at the breakfast selection - the eggs were overcooked and floating in water, it was quite gross. The gentleman taking care of the tables was quite rude. We asked the reception whether we can look at the breakfast before we make a decision to add on, she said sure, we went there and this gentleman working the floor was quite rude saying for how many? I told him I am still deciding as my partner wanted to come in and have breakfast too. It was me and my mom staying in the room, but he was so pushy and rude, he asked for my room number, I gave it to him, he came back saying it's not paid and I said to him I know I am just deciding if I want to add it on -- we were standing away from the food and didn't have plates or anything, we were just texting my partner to get a decision from him. He was so rude and said ”see I told you, this is why I asked, come with me” and he had a very rude attitude. We paid for it at the bar and then went to sit down, but this gentleman was the only rude man in the hotel - quite frankly would not eat at that place again!
He messed the whole experience for us.

GGuest UserVery very satisfied.
Location. I like this. Although not in the middle of the city, but its very easy to go there by bus and stop at commonwealth pool.
There are 2 entrance via holyrood park rd and Dalkeith rd.
To go there with luggage, after bus stop. Walk to Holyrood park rd and entrance via main entrance. You will see the reception centre.
AAnonymous UserThis was my first time bringing my mom back to Edinburgh since graduation, and this hotel was always on my wish list when I was a student. The room offered a view of Calton Hill, and I'd definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit. It would have been even better if the room was on a higher floor. Plus, the haggis at the hotel breakfast was delicious, even better than the one at Haggis Box!
DDarren_in_BarcelonaReally comfortable and quiet hotel near Edinburgh Castle. Checkin was smooth, the staff are friendly, and the room was spacious. It’s also easy to reach the airport as the tram stop is around 5 minutes from the hotel on foot. The hotel offers secure luggage storage also! Amenities in the room could be improved! I’d stay here again during my next visit to Edinburgh.
PPratik KarkhanisWe stayed at Mount Royal Hotel in Edinburgh for 4 nights. The rooms are small but clean, and our room had a stunning view of the Scott Monument—definitely a highlight! The bathroom was quite compact as well, and the beds weren’t very soft, but for the price, the location is unbeatable. Just a 5-minute walk to charming bakeries like The Milkman, and so convenient for exploring the city. The staff were incredibly sweet and polite, making our stay even more enjoyable. Don’t miss the view from the bar near the reception—it’s gorgeous!
GGuest UserService was good enough and as per expectations of a big hotel brand. Nothing to complain about.
The only complaint I have is about the amenities. There was no dental kit provided in the room and when requested for, I was asked to come down to the reception to collect it rather than have housekeeping deliver to the room. There was no single use slippers either and I had to pay £5 for it which I felt was pretty excessive for a disposable pair of slippers.. I paid for it anyway since I needed it. The staff were kind about it though and could do nothing as it was hotel policy.
Hope Novotel can review its policies on the provision of these amenities.

Stayed at Stewart by Heeton Concept for 2 days and I would absolutely love to come back in the future!
The apartment was spotless — no dust, no bed bugs, fresh clean bedsheets, and a tidy washroom. Everything was well-maintained and made for a really comfortable stay. It truly felt like a great place to relax and unwind.
The only two things I’d mention as areas for improvement: the check-out time of 10:30 AM felt a little early, and a few basic toiletry amenities like toothpaste, a toothbrush, and slippers were missing. Everything else was provided and well-stocked.
Overall a fantastic stay and highly recommended. Will definitely be returning! 😊
GGuest UserGreat location and super friendly staff. The breakfast was very basic, though I guess that’s expected for this type of hotel. On the downside, the AC was terrible—it had a mind of its own and it was impossible to get it to blow warm air.
GGuest UserMy stay at Four Points by Sheraton Edinburgh has been overall very satisfactory. The location can be quite tricky but I did not mind the walk to Princes Street which is about 10 minutes. The amenities provided were good and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The cleaning staff did a good job but since it is a rug flooring, I found that nails from previous guests were still on the flooring which indicated it needed a proper cleaning process.
The check-out time of the hotel (11 a.m.) does not coincide with that on the site (12 00) but it was not an issue since the staff let us keep the room until 11 30 a.m.
SSMYTGreat accommodation for solo travellers. When I arrive I was met with a very friendly receptionist who briefed me on the stay. The reception and the bedrooms were in separate buildings for me (Old Town) but only across the road. The beds was comfortable and I was fortunate enough to have roommates who were quiet. Toilets and showers are separate, and it is clean every now and then. 4 stars because it is quite tight inside the shower the overall really good for what price you pay and would definitely come back again.
LLinhlovestotravelVery close to everything. Safestay is good for the price and location which is worth it. Check in and check out time is horrible tho. Also the fact that you have to pay to store your baggage. Hmmm
