"This hotel is ideally located right next to Haymarket Station, making travel super convenient. We were able to walk to all the city's attractions in just over ten minutes. Our room was compact but well-designed, spotless, and dry. The bedding was wonderfully soft and comfortable, the shower had consistent water pressure, and the smart lighting was a thoughtful touch. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and attentive, and check-in was a breeze."

"The hotel room and bathroom were indeed too small; there wasn't even enough space to open a suitcase, so it had to be stored under the bed. The view outside the room was decent. The main advantage is the hotel's excellent location, right opposite Haymarket. You can walk almost anywhere, which is incredibly convenient, and there are bus stops right outside. The hotel breakfast was just so-so, with limited variety and options. It was a typical English breakfast, not bad. The reception service was mediocre, especially the male front desk staff who gave me the wrong room number twice, even though I showed him the room number written down. He seemed unbothered and unwilling to help."

"The room was clean; however, it was poorly lit, and the dark wall colors did not help at all. Although we chose a room without windows, we did not expect such poor ventilation or effectively none at all. Our room was located on the ground floor, and there was no reception, while the hotel Wi-Fi also did not work downstairs. Soundproofing was very poor, which contributed to a situation that left us quite dissatisfied. While my friend was in the common area trying to get a connection, she was disturbed by guests who were clearly intoxicated and were rude and abusive towards her. When I went to get her, I was also sworn at, and we quickly returned to our room to avoid the situation. She also noticed that several people passing through seemed to be familiar with these guests and did not acknowledgethe ongoing situation. Later in the evening, around 21:00, one guest began crying loudly and there was a heated argument between them and another guest. Due to the poor soundproofing, we could hear everything clearly. We tried contacting reception about the situation, but they did not answer our calls. We felt unsafe leaving the room. Eventually, someone came down and only asked the guests if they were okay, and the situation was left unresolved. The noise continued for quite some time, and our sleep was significantly disturbed. Overall, we felt unsafe staying here."

"Haha 😄, the hotel's location is undeniably great. However, hotels in Edinburgh during New Year's are seriously expensive! But then again, the New Year's Eve celebrations in Edinburgh are truly unique. You can walk out of the hotel for just five minutes and be right there for the fireworks. They lasted six and a half minutes... Actually, we could even see them from our room, the window was perfectly positioned. I just wanted to experience it firsthand."

"The location is absolutely perfect — it’s literally right in front of the castle, and there are plenty of cafés around, so the vibes are really nice! 😍 BUT the room itself was super tiny — honestly, it felt claustrophobic. Definitely not recommended for families traveling around the UK with lots of luggage. Thankfully, the reception staff were very helpful and let us store our suitcases at the front desk because they knew the room couldn’t possibly fit all of them 🤓 I even had one of my suitcases stored in their locker, lol. There was even one night when the AC in our room suddenly stopped working, but the staff handled it really well and helped us move to another room — no hassle at all, which we really appreciated! One important heads-up: this hotel is not wheelchair-friendly. There’s no lift, so keep that in mind if accessibility is a concern."

"Basic accommodation but good value for the price! Easy to access location, clean, complimentary supplies, good amenities, access to shared kitchen etc. It was quiet at night, the odd bit of noise from doors in the daytime. However you can get free earplugs from reception. The windows don’t open fully so it can get warm in the room, however fans are provided in each room"

"The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast offered a great variety of options. It's within walking distance to all the city's attractions. I especially recommend the Sofia Restaurant downstairs; their food is top-notch. The grilled lamb chops and stewed lamb shank were delicious and reasonably priced. I ended up eating there twice!"

"I stayed at Moxy for four nights. To be honest, the reception staff provided good service and a warm welcome, including a welcome drink, which I appreciated. However, I was disappointed with the room cleanliness. When I checked the duvet, I found it was very dirty, with many yellow stains. I requested that housekeeping change it. The electric kettle in the room was also very dirty inside, with large visible stains. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos at the time. More importantly, when I requested room cleaning, I waited nearly two hours without any service. The front desk staff informed me that the housekeeping team was not responding to messages. While I understand operational challenges can happen, I believe guests should be kept informed in a timely manner. Overall, I feel that the housekeeping standards and responsiveness need improvement."

"Room was good and hotel was also decent. The problem was with the service. Despite being Do not disturb hanger in the door, the staff entered multiple times. One time it was not even a housekeeping staff, looks like someone who checks the room, just opened the door without even knocking and didn’t even say sorry. Room also had a nice background which was well lit. Additional star just did that, otherwise I would have rated less."

"Front desk reception was efficient and professional. Housekeeping was timely and thorough. The room was tidy and comfortable, with high-quality bedding, a well-maintained separate wet and dry bathroom, and complete amenities. The overall stay experience was excellent."
