"I stayed at the Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh Haymarket and booked a standard king room with a sofa bed. The room was 27m², which isn't small for a UK hotel. It was well-equipped with a full-length mirror, safe, hairdryer, bathtub, and air conditioning. The room was cleaned daily, which was great. My only minor complaint was that the shower pressure wasn't very strong. I booked the hotel through Trip.com, and because it was a third-party booking, the hotel didn't require any deposit. The room included a daily breakfast for three people, and the breakfast spread was quite generous. Breakfast hours were from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM, which was perfect for sleeping in. Since Edinburgh isn't a huge city, most major attractions were within walking distance. An Uber to the castle cost around £9. There are Tesco and Sainsbury's supermarkets nearby, as well as many Chinese restaurants. The location is excellent and I highly recommend it."

"I can only say that I love and hate this hotel. I had a bad stay experience. Can you believe I spent 2,700 yuan to book a room in the basement? ! The pictures of the hotel room are seriously inconsistent with the reality. When booking, I noticed that the pictures of ordinary room types may be underground, so I specially booked a room type one level higher (the corresponding pictures on Ctrip also showed normal windows and floors), but when I arrived at the hotel, I was still arranged in the basement. The hotel manager explained that their rooms were not divided into floors, and after all the rooms upstairs were arranged that day, they arranged a room on the ground floor for us. Living underground was really unacceptable, so I had to accept the manager's recommendation and upgrade to a top-floor room for an additional 80 pounds. Environment: As shown in the picture, the view from the upgraded room is really great. The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from important attractions such as Princes Street and the Castle. The location is slightly far, but acceptable. Facilities: The room facilities are generally good. The hotel environment is very classic and well maintained. There is a parking lot at the back door, which is quite convenient. Hygiene: It may be that we changed rooms temporarily. After checking in, we found that the bathroom must have been used by someone, and there was also a used razor in the trash can. I wonder if the cleaning staff threw it away... Therefore, if you want to check in, it is recommended to determine the room type and floor in advance."

"Holiday inn as usually, they rooms are always clean and well kept. Opposite the hotel has a shopping areas with Burger King. There is also a 24hrs petrol station down the road incase u arrival late for check in or u are hungry for a snack. Road will be quite packed during the peak hour. Walking to dean village is about 30min"

"I had a corner room on the 5th floor with great views of Edinburgh castle and the hills in the distance. Complimentary drinks and snacks in reception between 5 and 6 pm. A handwritten welcome back card on arrival. I had been there the week before. Very comfy bed and nicely equipped kitchenette with nespresso machine and capsules."

"An amazing hotel with clean and peaceful rooms 👌🏻 The staff were wonderful. I had my birthday dinner there, and the chef together with a lovely waitress surprised me with a complimentary dessert. "Very satisfied with my stay. The hotel is located right within the University of Edinburgh campus. I booked a room with breakfast, and the toast was excellent! The dining environment was also very pleasant. Plus, there are bus stops conveniently located near the hotel, making it super easy to get around!"

"I booked a room without window without realising! It was already over priced! I tried to change room but they didnt fulfil my request! So when I entered my room I realised is very small and it lacks basic amenities like fridge wardrobe enough space on both sides of the bed and plus I didnt have anything to put my things near my side of the bed as well... bathroom was also small no window i also had to buy my own conditioner cause hotel couldnt provide it for me... im really dissappinted... I already paid enough money and breakfast was not included in the price! Check in was also late i had to pay extra for early check in which is outrageous! And if I wanted late check out I also had to pay extra money for this... For the money I paid i could easily book a luxury air bnb and I could have my comfort as well! Plus at night there was too much noise outside our room which made us very uncomfortable! Sometimes we were thinking that someone entered our room due to the loud noises outside... I stayed one night and it was one of my worst hotel experiences... im really dissapointed... the only thing I liked was the cleanliness... we were told by one staff member that someone would call us to discuss our experience and offer us some money back if possible but no one called us! I wont book again any room in this hotel! Thats for sure! Very dissapointing experience..."

"The hotel room and bathroom were indeed too small; there wasn't even enough space to open a suitcase, so it had to be stored under the bed. The view outside the room was decent. The main advantage is the hotel's excellent location, right opposite Haymarket. You can walk almost anywhere, which is incredibly convenient, and there are bus stops right outside. The hotel breakfast was just so-so, with limited variety and options. It was a typical English breakfast, not bad. The reception service was mediocre, especially the male front desk staff who gave me the wrong room number twice, even though I showed him the room number written down. He seemed unbothered and unwilling to help."

"The location is super convenient, right in the heart of Princes Street, yet surprisingly quiet for sleeping. The room was spacious with a direct view of the old castle. The hotel restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the views from the window are absolutely stunning, making you feel like you've stepped back into the Middle Ages. If there were a hotel with this kind of view back home, it would definitely be a must-visit."
