CCiky2023Our romantic winter getaway began the moment we stepped into Dino Starry Resort, immediately feeling a warm welcome. Unlike a typical hotel's impersonal atmosphere, the staff here felt like old friends, making us feel right at home and completely relaxed. Getting to Disneyland was a breeze with their Mercedes shuttle, which departed at our pre-arranged time. Breakfast was plentiful, and our room was spotless and tidy. The overall environment was lovely, and there were even small animals in the backyard that we could feed for free. The biggest surprise, though, was experiencing authentic winter fun. We gathered around a traditional earthen pot stove, warming ourselves and chatting, or enjoyed a steaming hotpot cooked in a vintage hanging pot. On sunny days, we even had a lively outdoor BBQ with plenty of smoke and laughter. From the rustic charm of the earthen pot to the nostalgic feel of the hanging pot and the vibrant energy of the BBQ, this place had it all. Dino Starry is more than just a place to stay; it's a wonderful space where you can unwind, leave your weariness behind, and relive cherished moments. Come and gather with your loved ones here, and collect a whole winter's worth of warmth amidst delicious food and laughter!

AAndrea75Disappointing Executive Experience - Would Not Recommend Rating: 2/5 (Mediocre) The only saving graces of our stay at the Mercure Yu Garden on The Bund were the great location and the fact that the cleanliness of the hotel was up to standard. The rest of the experience left a lot to be desired for a hotel of this chain. We booked an Executive Room, but honestly, it didn't feel like one at all; it completely failed to meet the expectations of that category. To make matters worse, the air conditioning malfunctioned, making our stay quite uncomfortable. The service and customer care were the weakest points: • Lack of information: No one informed us that there was a self-service laundry room for guests on the second floor. • Terrible laundry service: Since we weren't told about the guest laundry, we sent our clothes out through the hotel service. Not only did they charge us an exorbitant amount, but they also returned it late. I actually had to go and track it down myself because they wouldn't deliver it to our room. • Breakfast: We only tried it once and decided not to go back; we didn't really like it. In short, you pay for a ”premium” service that you simply do not receive. I would not recommend it. They seriously need to improve their communication and how they manage their services.

GGuest UserThe hotel was wonderful. It was conveniently located near the metro, making it easy to travel around, while the area was not too crowded. The room was spacious and had great entertainment features. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the price was reasonable. We especially loved the projector TV and the automatic toilet. Thank you so much for allowing us to check in early, as we were traveling with kids. We truly appreciated your kindness and hospitality.

GGuest UserExtremely satisfied! This is one of the most luxurious hotels I've ever stayed in. Coming from the Disney Hotel's executive room, I instantly felt like the money spent here was truly worth it! First, the room is spacious, the bed is super comfortable, and both the lounge area and bathroom are generously sized. The toiletries are Aesop, and the kids' toiletries are also excellent! Second, the breakfast buffet is fantastic, and there's an à la carte menu too – I couldn't get enough of it. Furthermore, the location is superb. You can walk to the Bund, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby. Also, the concierge service was wonderful and proactive. With lots of luggage and kids, they eagerly helped with transfers to and from the car, saving us from many awkward moments. Overall, the experience was fantastic. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit!

GGuest UserTerrible. Will not stay again. The check-in SOP was unclear, forcing guests to ask multiple questions, even for basic information like breakfast times and location. The room smelled of smoke, possibly due to old or poorly maintained air conditioning. The front desk staff denied there was a smoke smell and only after repeated requests did they show me other rooms, about half of which also smelled of smoke. Their service attitude was both arrogant and perfunctory. The operational procedures were also a mess; for example, after checking in, I found the room didn't even have a kettle and called to request one. Ten minutes later, housekeeping knocked on the door, saying they needed to replace the in-room magazine. It was bizarre to replace a monthly magazine after check-in. The kettle that was eventually delivered was wet inside and out, with a strong disinfectant smell inside. The ice bucket in the room also had water and already smelled foul when opened. The hotel management is riddled with loopholes everywhere; quality is in the details. The hard furnishings like the toilet and bathtub in the room were old, the shower handle was broken, and the water pressure was worse than a 3 or 4-star hotel. The linens were average. However, the bedding and mattress were good.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel has a minimalist Japanese style, with a clean and atmospheric environment. The staff are very friendly, warm, and thoughtful. They offer a complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport on the hour, which is super convenient for catching flights – a big plus! However, staying for four consecutive days, the breakfast selection was incredibly monotonous and never changed. It got really boring after a while. The late-night snack options were also very limited, with only noodles and congee available – far too few choices. Furthermore, during my stay, I noticed that the indoor air felt stuffy and poorly ventilated, always with a stale odor. My room was close to the road, so opening the window meant car noise, but closing it made the room stuffy and smelly, which significantly reduced my comfort. On a positive note, they thoughtfully gave me a small souvenir when I checked out, which was a lovely touch. Overall, the service and airport shuttle were good, but the stay would be much better if they could improve the breakfast variety, add more late-night snack options, enhance room ventilation and soundproofing, and eliminate the stale indoor smell.

EElianaCThis review is long overdue! I was in Shanghai for a business trip in early March, and it happened to be raining heavily then. The underfloor heating gave me the warmest, most comfortable night's sleep, and the duvet cover felt incredibly soft. It was my first time staying in a Shikumen building, and the courtyard was so unique and stylish. Both the courtyard and the room's interior design were absolutely beautiful. The unit I stayed in was located on West Yan'an Road, very close to Xintiandi and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. It was perfect – I could just stroll back after dinner in Bei Li. Check-in was also a breeze. I saw that the host manages several other unique B&Bs, so I'd love to try them out sometime!

YYasminvroonAbsolutely recommended! The location is probably the best you could possibly have!!! everything is within easy reach, making it perfect for exploring the city. The hotel operates with self check-in, which was very smooth and convenient. The room was clean, comfortable, and the entire area was surprisingly quiet, allowing for a great night’s sleep despite being in such a central location. One thing we really appreciated was that they even provided a nearby place where we could safely store our luggage for the entire day before our flight, which made our last day completely stress-free. Great value, excellent location, peaceful surroundings, and very helpful service. We would definitely stay here again! 😊🏨✈️

TThe Lonely TravellerMight I say, our entire stay at the W was marvelous from beginning to end. Upon arrival, we were greeted and helped with our luggage straight yo our room. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly. She even offered to upgrade us to a room with a better view seeing that we were celebrating and visiting Shanghai for the first time. Each staff seemed to acknowledge our existence all throughout the hotel. This made us feel like extremely important people. Our room was absolutely stunning and oh my was the view ever so perfect. Room service was excellent. Their burger was probably the most delicious. We visited amd stayed in many hotels around China and this one definitely left some beautiful memories. We would highly recommend staying here if ever visiting Shanghai. Every penny spent was worth it.

GGuest UserI stayed here temporarily for a visa appointment. Although the room is small, it's reflected in the price, and it was perfectly fine for one person. The location is downtown, close to everything. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was clean and tidy. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. I'm very satisfied! ✅
