"This guesthouse, tucked away in a hutong, is the former residence of Edgar Snow and perfectly captures the old Beijing hutong charm. I stayed at Beijing Zhong An Hotel for three days, and my overall experience was excellent. The hotel staff were warm and attentive; one of the service guys even helped me carry my luggage to the room. During my stay, I saw many foreign guests, which created a great atmosphere. The breakfast, especially, was a highlight. It was a Western and Chinese buffet with a rich variety of authentic dishes, catering to both Chinese breakfast preferences and Western light meals. The hotel's location is also superb, close to Beijing Railway Station. There's a small alleyway from the hutong that leads you to the hotel in about a hundred meters, and it's also very near Tiananmen Square, making transportation incredibly convenient. Overall, it's great value for money and highly recommended."

"This is a very good choice for a family hotel, two large beds, big room and nice sized bathroom. Location is excellent only 1 min to Beijing Railway station metro. Shops and restaurants 100m outside. Close to Wangfujing, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven etc. The morning breakfast is incredible. At least 10-12 selections, then dim sum and hot pot. Coffee and pastry section, large seating area with spacious seating. I don't think its possible to find a better breakfast at this price point. For those a little adventurous there's a barber in the Hutong less than 3 min away for authentic Chinese barber experience, inquire at reception. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Use a language app to figure out laundry settings. Overall wonderful experience with a suprise gift from the hotel on checkout."

"I arrived at the hotel before 6 AM. I had booked a windowless room, and the front desk offered an upgrade to a room with a window for an extra 89 RMB for two nights, which also allowed early check-in. I agreed. The window was tiny, and not only small, but it overlooked some kind of platform rather than a street view. Given the early check-in, I didn't complain. After checking in, I noticed many rooms were empty, which made me wonder why my original windowless room couldn't have been offered for early check-in. I don't get it. Now, for the pros and cons: Pros: The location is genuinely excellent. It's right across the street from Beijing Railway Station, just a sky bridge away. The entrance is next to a Line 2 subway station, making it very convenient to get around. There's a convenience store and snack shops downstairs, so if you don't want the hotel breakfast, you can easily grab something outside. The room wasn't small, and the hygiene was decent. The staff were also very friendly. Cons: The hotel lobby is confusing. There's an outer room that's a small restaurant, and an inner room that's the actual lobby. The hotel's restaurant is on the second floor, which oddly enough, is also the lobby for another hotel. Our rooms were on the third floor. And then, I think on the fifth floor, there's yet a third hotel. The environment is really chaotic. Plus, as soon as you step out of the elevator, there's a strong smell of recent renovation in the hallway. The breakfast selection was very limited – honestly, there was barely anything to eat. Besides sliced bread, they even had individually packaged Daliyuan mini bread, which felt incredibly perfunctory. The handheld showerhead holder in the room was broken. At around 600 RMB a night, I suppose it's due to the prime location and the summer holiday season."

"My overall experience at the Beijing International Hotel was great. It's an old-school five-star hotel with an excellent location right next to Chang'an Avenue. High-floor rooms offer city views of Chang'an Avenue, and it's very close to the National Museum and Wangfujing. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the service is attentive, and the breakfast selection is rich. The only downside is its proximity to the main Chang'an thoroughfare, which means traffic restrictions during major events. Getting a taxi in and out can sometimes be inconvenient, with detours at certain times and limited drop-off points, so you need to allow extra time when calling a car. Overall, for travelers visiting Beijing, the location is a major plus. Just be sure to check for traffic restriction information in advance for an even better stay."

"The location is absolutely unbeatable. It's right by Beijing Railway Station – you just exit, take the pedestrian bridge to your left, and turn a corner. It's also very close to the Dongdan campus of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, about a 13 RMB taxi ride. Even though the hotel opened in 2024, the cleanliness has been consistently excellent. The service is very warm and welcoming, and breakfast is served until 9:30 AM."

"The location is fantastic, just a few minutes' walk from the train station, bus stop, and subway. There's a pharmacy and convenience store right next door, which is super handy. They have a food delivery robot in the lobby and free parking out front. You can also store your luggage both at check-in and check-out, making everything very convenient and suitable. The front desk staff were very welcoming."

"It’s situated opposite the Beijing railway station and there is a subway station round the corner from the hotel, which we find super convenient to get about. It’s line 2 on the subway and it’s only a few stops to Qianmen so it’s really quite central too. The hotel itself is superb, from staff service. Cleanliness and comfort. We are a family of 4 with two grown up children and 1 King size bed with 2 single beds arrangement room is very hard to find. This hotel not only fulfil this, they also have 2 separate toilets, 2 shower cubicles and a bath. The room is super spacious. The buffet style breakfast has a wide selection of choices and it runs from 6 to 10:30am during weekdays and to 11 am at weekends so it suited people who need to wake up early for further excursions and people who wants a lye in in the hotel’s comfy beds. I honestly wouldn’t hesitate to use this hotel again if we are to come to Beijing again. In fact we are already looking for Howard Johnson chain for our next trip to Chengdu😍"

"This hotel, particularly Leah, left a great impression. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, and the check-in process was smooth and quick. They also thoughtfully reminded me of important details regarding my stay. The room was very clean, odor-free, with good lighting and ventilation. The bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, allowing for a good rest. The hotel's facilities were well-maintained, and the environment was quiet. The location is superb, making it easy to get around. When I encountered a minor issue, they responded promptly. It offers great value for money, and my overall stay was very satisfying. I genuinely recommend it to everyone."

"The environment is beautiful, although the swimming pool is a bit small. But it wasn't crowded, which was nice. The room was also very new, and the kids loved it. The bed was large, a 2.2m bed, and very comfortable to sleep in. It rained at night so we didn't go out and instead had the seafood buffet. We even got to scoop our own seafood, which the kids found fun and unique. For the seafood buffet, my child even said that the chocolate and ice cream cake, which came out last around 8 PM, were the best things they ate. The concierge was very thoughtful, helping to receive a delivery, even unpacking it and bringing it up, and also helping with luggage. Getting a taxi to Wangfujing took only 15 minutes, which was very convenient."

"The hotel room was very spacious, and I was very satisfied with my stay. The esports room had excellent internet speed with an RTX 4070 graphics card. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area. Downstairs, there was complimentary herbal tea, hot drinks, coffee, and plum juice. There's a great restaurant on the second floor; the food was incredibly spicy, but I loved it. This was my first time here, and I was extremely satisfied. I will definitely come back a second time because it's truly worth revisiting. There's also a free laundry room. All the staff members were very polite and attentive, even though their language might not have been perfect, they were incredibly dedicated. I will definitely be back again next time."
