Nice spot, walkable to everything and in a good busy area. Staff are friendly and facilities were great and very clean. Enjoyed my stay. Not the most sociable though, I would stay again but don’t expect to really meet people here. More for somewhere nice to sleep.

Kristina was very friendly and helpful during check-in. We really appreciated her assistance with all the concierge information.
However, the room had two bottles of shampoo and no shower gel. Amenities were quite limited and only provided upon request.
James at the front desk was not friendly or helpful. The front desk also seemed short-staffed, as the queue was long and we had to wait quite a while for check-out and luggage collection.

WL89I booked this hotel last minute for my mom, as she decided to join our trip during the Christmas and New Year period, where our hotel that we are stayed already fully booked. I found this boutique hotel online, and since it was new and looked nice, I decided to give it a try & booked for my mom (this hotel
Just 3mins away (walk) from our hotel).
The location is good, and overall cleanliness was excellent. The room, hotel areas, and walkways were all clean, well maintained, and pleasant.
However, we did experience an issue with the air conditioning. On the second night, the AC was not functioning at all—no airflow and very humid, which made it uncomfortable, especially during summer. We contacted reception but were told the AC system was centralized and nothing could be done at the time. The AC started working again in the afternoon.
Unfortunately, the same issue happened again on the third night. My mom called reception and was only provided with a fan, which still did not help much due to the heat.
The next morning, I personally spoke to the person in charge regarding the AC issue and requested either a room change or a refund so we could move to another hotel. To their credit, the management handled the situation well and arranged for my mom to be moved to another room on Level 3. From that point onward, the AC worked perfectly until check-out.
Overall, the hotel is clean, well located, and has good potential. While the AC issue was frustrating, the management’s willingness to resolve the problem and provide a room change was appreciated. With better consistency in facilities, this would be a great place to stay.

JoceryThe room was quite new, and the location is excellent, right in Chinatown, making it super convenient to get anywhere. It was also very clean, and the front desk staff were friendly. The price was also much more reasonable compared to other hotels in the city center!

LulupurineWe had a good stay at The Ultimo Hotel Sydney. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit, which made a positive first impression. The facilities were great, and the location was very convenient, with easy access to transport and plenty of restaurants nearby that stayed open late at night.
The only area that needs improvement is the housekeeping. There were some marks on the bedding sheet, and one of the pillows appeared to have what looked like old dried blood and yellow stains. Aside from this issue, our overall experience was pleasant. With a bit more attention to cleanliness, this hotel would be even better.

WishiwashiOverall, it is worth it for its location and price within Sydney CBD. You can have a room of decent size without burning a hole in your pocket. While it is not a fancy hotel and has been refurbished, you can still see some dents and marks on the walls. However, it is clean and comfortable.
One thing to note: the hotel informed me that the reception would open at 7 AM. When I arrived, there was no one to be seen, and I didn’t have a data SIM that could make local calls. Eventually, I asked a friendly local to borrow their phone to make the calls. It was a bit inconvenient.

Guest UserIt was amazing, and I'd love to stay here again next time. Truly the best hotel! I also got a high-floor room, so the view was great, and I received free bottled water daily.

SchmophieThe location was super, right in the center and only a 30-minute walk to the Opera House. However, the people there tend to stick to their own groups, and it's really hard to strike up a conversation, so it's not ideal for solo travelers. The kitchen was okay, adequately equipped. Unfortunately, the rooms didn't have curtains on the beds (which were very shaky), and there are only lockers that you have to pay for. They don't explain much to you; you have to figure out where everything is and how it works yourself (for example, that you need to bring an extra cooler bag with a zipper)... If you can, try not to get a room facing outwards – there's so much noise all night long that even earplugs won't help. So, overall, it's pretty mediocre. The location is good if you're out and about all day anyway and just need a place to sleep.

The hotel's location is great, close to the Central Station, Chinatown, and Hyde Park. The apartment hotel itself is a bit old, but having a kitchen where we could cook was a plus. The two-bedroom apartment had two bathrooms and a spacious living area, which was perfect for the four of us. Overall, it was pretty good. The photos of the two-bedroom unit were accurate, though I forgot to take pictures of the interior myself.

@nightkymz84I would tell the toilet is as per review, yes it is small and narrow but it’s simply worth the price especially when you consider the location (2mins walk to Chinatown station and Haymarket (most cheapest market in Sydney), and measured few stations to Circular Quay and one station to Sydney Central Station! Well the room (pod) condition also nice, even though you can expect the space pod is small but it’s clean and the A/C, electricity and locker works perfectly fine. Will definitely book this hotel again next time if I were a budget traveller.
