Anonymous UserKristina was very friendly and helpful during check-in. We really appreciated her assistance with all the concierge information.
However, the room had two bottles of shampoo and no shower gel. Amenities were quite limited and only provided upon request.
James at the front desk was not friendly or helpful. The front desk also seemed short-staffed, as the queue was long and we had to wait quite a while for check-out and luggage collection.

WL89I booked this hotel last minute for my mom, as she decided to join our trip during the Christmas and New Year period, where our hotel that we are stayed already fully booked. I found this boutique hotel online, and since it was new and looked nice, I decided to give it a try & booked for my mom (this hotel
Just 3mins away (walk) from our hotel).
The location is good, and overall cleanliness was excellent. The room, hotel areas, and walkways were all clean, well maintained, and pleasant.
However, we did experience an issue with the air conditioning. On the second night, the AC was not functioning at all—no airflow and very humid, which made it uncomfortable, especially during summer. We contacted reception but were told the AC system was centralized and nothing could be done at the time. The AC started working again in the afternoon.
Unfortunately, the same issue happened again on the third night. My mom called reception and was only provided with a fan, which still did not help much due to the heat.
The next morning, I personally spoke to the person in charge regarding the AC issue and requested either a room change or a refund so we could move to another hotel. To their credit, the management handled the situation well and arranged for my mom to be moved to another room on Level 3. From that point onward, the AC worked perfectly until check-out.
Overall, the hotel is clean, well located, and has good potential. While the AC issue was frustrating, the management’s willingness to resolve the problem and provide a room change was appreciated. With better consistency in facilities, this would be a great place to stay.

Guest UserThis Novotel Sydney Central hotel is incredibly convenient, located near the train station, making it easy to travel to various attractions. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the service is thoughtful and attentive. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options, and there's a great value specialty freshly ground coffee for only AUD 3. The overall environment is quiet, and the facilities are complete. It's suitable for both short trips and city tours, making it a worthwhile choice for your stay when visiting Sydney.

Guest UserPros:
Fantastic location.
Even though some reviews mentioned the bed being too soft, it was actually the most comfortable hotel bed my kid has slept in for years. I usually have trouble sleeping in new beds, but this one didn't give me any insomnia.
The front desk service was relatively warm and welcoming.
The in-room capsule coffee machine worked great.
Nice view from the window.
Cons:
The duvet cover situation was really odd; there wasn't one. The duvet insert was just sandwiched between two sheets, and it would come undone as soon as you lay down.
The room was quite small.
Every day, inexplicably, dust would settle on the bed.
Houskeeping seemed to be inconsistent: one day the coffee wasn't restocked, another day the trash wasn't emptied completely, and some days we got an excessive amount of towels.
The room was small.

MeganGreat value for money, right on George Street! The room was very spacious and came with a washing machine and dryer, which was fantastic for the price.
**Cleanliness:** The room was very clean, but do keep in mind that as a serviced apartment, it doesn't get daily cleaning.
**Facilities:** It has a small kitchen, fully equipped with pots, pans, dishes, and even dish soap.
**Location:** Being on George Street is super convenient. You can easily hop on the 'Ding Ding' tram or just walk to explore.
**Service:** The front desk staff were very polite and always greeted me proactively.

Guest UserFacilities: Well-equipped.
Cleanliness: Clean and tidy.
Service: Good.
Ambiance: The hotel isn't soundproof, so it can be a bit noisy at night with cars passing by on the street.
It's in Chinatown, an Asian crew hotel, convenient for getting to the city center and a handy meeting point for one-day tours.

The location is excellent and very convenient, especially for getting around the city. The price is affordable, making it a good option for budget travelers. The staff were friendly and the check-in process was easy. However, I think the cleanliness could be improved, as the room and shared areas didn’t feel as clean as I expected. Overall, it’s a decent place to stay if you’re looking for a budget-friendly accommodation in a great location.

The hotel's location is truly excellent. It's about a 5-6 minute walk from the Museum train station and the light rail station, and only 2 minutes from the bus stop, making transportation incredibly convenient. Chinatown and the large Coles Worth Square supermarket are also not far.
Even better, our room type came with a washing machine and dryer. The kitchen was fully equipped with an oven, toaster, stovetop, pots, dishwasher, and even a capsule coffee machine, which made preparing a simple breakfast in the morning very easy.
However, you definitely hear the train noise. Our floor wasn't very low, and we personally found it acceptable. Also, when booking, the platform stated daily cleaning, but in reality, it was only once a week. After we brought it up with the platform, they immediately offered us a discount as compensation.
During our stay, one morning around 4 AM, the fire alarm went off, followed by the sound of fire trucks. It scared us down to the first floor, where many other guests had already gathered. Luckily, the firefighters eventually came down and said it was a false alarm. Also, during the only cleaning service we received, the cleaning staff somehow broke the towel rack in our bathroom. It took two days for it to be repaired, which caused some inconvenience.

Anonymous UserThe room was quite spacious and even had a balcony, though it felt like it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly before I arrived. The bathroom was missing toilet paper, and the towels had some dust on them, so I had to go to the front desk to get new ones myself. A pleasant surprise was the in-room washer and dryer, which dried clothes really fast! The kitchen was large and fully equipped, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Just a heads up, there's a 200 AUD deposit required upon check-in.

@nightkymz84I would tell the toilet is as per review, yes it is small and narrow but it’s simply worth the price especially when you consider the location (2mins walk to Chinatown station and Haymarket (most cheapest market in Sydney), and measured few stations to Circular Quay and one station to Sydney Central Station! Well the room (pod) condition also nice, even though you can expect the space pod is small but it’s clean and the A/C, electricity and locker works perfectly fine. Will definitely book this hotel again next time if I were a budget traveller.
