Conveniently located just a few subway stops from the train station. Our high-floor room offered fantastic views and excellent natural light, with a clear sight of Yuantong Temple. The riverside nearby is perfect for a leisurely stroll. The next morning, it was less than a 10-minute walk to the temple for prayer.
My recent stay at Gongxili Jun'ao Hotel (Nanping Pedestrian Street branch) was absolutely wonderful; I simply *have* to share my experience!
The hotel's location is simply unbeatable, nestled right in the heart of Kunming's Nanping Pedestrian Street shopping district. The moment you step out, you're greeted by a vibrant, lively atmosphere. It's just a 5-minute walk to Zhengyifang Shopping Center and Kunming Old Street. Strolling through these areas at your leisure, soaking in the authentic local vibe and bustling street life, is incredibly relaxing and enjoyable. What's more, the hotel offers superb connectivity. Whether you want to take the subway to Green Lake to see the seagulls or capture the stunning night view of Jinma Biji Archway, it's all incredibly convenient. Even Dianchi Lake is just about a 15-minute drive away, making getting around exceptionally easy.
Check-in at the front desk was very quick, and the staff were warm, attentive, and thorough. They even thoughtfully introduced the hotel's facilities and recommended some great local spots to explore.
Overall, my stay at Jun'ao Hotel exceeded my expectations in every aspect – from its prime location and room amenities to the excellent service and common area experience. Next time I visit Kunming, I'll definitely be choosing this place again!
The hotel room environment is very clean and tidy, and the service attitude is very good. The room type we booked before was a double bed room. The front desk was very considerate and helped us upgrade the movie room. I like it very much. The service at the hotel front desk is warm and thoughtful, and all the problems raised are solved attentively. The environment inside the hotel is good. The overall environment is warm and quiet. The hotel room looks comfortable and spacious. The bed in the fully furnished room is also quite comfortable. I personally think it is very comfortable whether you are a couple or traveling. The price/performance ratio is also high. I will stay here again next time!

This hotel we booked in Kunming gets a huge thumbs-up, especially for families with kids! They call you a day in advance to confirm your itinerary and allow for any changes (no need to buy cancellation insurance!), and also ask about any special room requests. Upon arrival, they immediately help you unload your luggage before you even have a chance to do anything else. We arrived quite late and the hotel's parking lot was full, but a front desk staff member even accompanied my dad to another parking lot. Before check-in, they offer you a glass of water. While checking in, they have you play a fun little game (and it's okay if you don't 'win', they just said participation is enough!), after which kids receive a small toy. There's also a play area outside for those waiting. When we arrived, they even had late-night snacks available (I think there was afternoon tea with small pastries too). The lobby conveniently offers complimentary small essentials like sewing kits, masks, and sanitary pads. Our room had eye masks, a handwritten welcome card, snacks, and even AD Calcium Milk for the kids, along with Jianlibao from Sanshui for us adults, haha! 😂 The room's lighting, toilet, and toiletries (shampoo/body wash) were all excellent. We stayed for two days and I didn't request housekeeping, but to our surprise, when we returned, the room had been tidied up – our pajamas were neatly folded, and slippers arranged tidily. 👍 Breakfast was also great! 👍 The laundry service was fantastic too; they washed, dried, and returned everything to our room. Most importantly, it wasn't expensive, offering incredible value for money! I've already shared my recommendation on WeChat Moments!
Pros
Location: Excellent, close to several attractions
Surroundings: Several restaurants downstairs offer local specialties, including barbecue, hot pot, and modern Yunnan cuisine. Kunming Square is within walking distance.
Breakfast: Surprisingly better than expected. While the variety isn't huge, it's not bad. I recommend the fresh milk and rice noodles.
Parking: Parking in the city center can be difficult and costs over 30 yuan a day. The hotel offers free parking, which is thoughtful.
Room Size: Comfortable and comfortable
Cons: Every hotel has its flaws, and this one lacks a youthful style. However, the amenities are well-thought-out. For example, rooms facing the road come with earplugs, and the bathroom is fully equipped. Any problems were addressed promptly.
After comparing many hotels, I finally chose this one for its room with the massive pool, and upon arrival, the experience absolutely exceeded all expectations! My girlfriend and I were both extremely satisfied. The lobby's spatial design was very impressive and stylish from the moment we entered, and the room's warm color scheme created a wonderful atmosphere. But the absolute best feature was the gigantic pool – the water was crystal clear, the circulation was excellent, and it was incredibly photogenic. It's absolutely worth every penny! There's also a gym conveniently located on the first floor, perfect for meeting your workout needs. Our stay was absolutely impeccable, and we'll certainly be back here for our next getaway!
Very compact rooms but very functional and clean. Give ample water and nice cold brew in the lobby too along with tea. The best part about the hotel was the breakfast - the ladies who run and clean up at breakfast are so kind and accommodating (our child has allergies). Loved the customizable noodle soups and rather large spread that changed daily. Definitely add the breakfast! The free laundry room was very helpful in our travels, though only 2 washers and 2 dryers so there may be a wait depending on volume. The tiny gym is also nice while you wait for your laundry. While the front desk was friendly and efficient, they didn’t really have any recommendations or insight into nearby attractions. The location was also not as convenient as I thought. Still a 15-20 min walk (or longer if you have a toddler) to Nanping Pedestrian St or Kunming Old Town. It’s not right next to anything except big banks. The subway was also not as helpful as I thought, though it easily got us to the train station for a tour to Stone Forest. Overall, still great value for money and would recommend for cleanliness and amenities. But you do need to walk like 5 min or so to anything to do. If you have kids, Xinhua Bookstore is around the corner (5min walk) which is nice for some kid downtime. Malls with famous Yunnan cuisine also 8-10 min walk away.
The location was the best as it's 30 minutes walking distance near the old street and other streets famous in the city. It was easy for us to plan our trip as we walked from the hotel to the old street to the lake. The hotel also have good music and TV system and we are able to connect our phone to the Bluetooth to open music in the room.
This hotel is at the intersection of Renmin Road and Baita Road. It has a good location. The train station and the subway are one stop away. The hotel is not far from the Jiaosanqiao subway station. It takes 7 or 8 minutes to walk. I was full on the way back, so I chose to walk to the train station to digest the food. I pushed the suitcase and walked for 13 minutes.
There are many bus stops near the hotel, and there are direct buses to many attractions. We went to Yan'an Hospital this time, and this hotel is just across the Yan'an Hospital, very close. There are also hotels above Yan'an Hospital. During holidays, Home Inn is twice as expensive, and breakfast is not included. I think it is more convenient to have breakfast, so I chose Home Inn. It was a good choice. The breakfast is quite rich, with both Chinese and Western styles. The pictures are all taken in the breakfast restaurant. To be honest, the bowl of noodles at Home Inn won me over. Hahaha. Although the hotel is in the city center, the room I stayed in was very quiet and comfortable. There is also free laundry and drying for clothes, which is very convenient and clean. The service attitude is also very good, very real and enthusiastic. There are various snack bars downstairs of the hotel, and the food in Hang Lung Plaza not far away is more diverse, which is really very convenient.

Excellent
GGuest UserExcellent hotel. Very convenient between 2 subway stations. Sparking clean . Equipt with washing and drying facilities. Highly recommend for staying in Kunming. We would definitely come back to stay here.
GGuest UserThis stay exceeded my expectations, especially in terms of cleanliness, facilities, and service!
1. Cleanliness: Clean and tidy, extremely comfortable. As soon as I entered the room, I felt bright and clean, with no odors. The faucets and mirrors in the sink and shower were polished to a shine, without any water stains. The bedding was crisp white, soft, and comfortable to the touch.
Bathroom Cleanliness: The toilet was thoroughly disinfected, and a toilet seat was provided, a thoughtful touch.
2. Facilities: Very comprehensive and high-quality, and you can tell they were carefully selected. The mattress was the perfect firmness and support, and I slept through the night. The curtains had excellent blackout properties, amazing!
3. Service: Attentive and attentive, making me feel right at home. They offered to help with my luggage and recommend nearby restaurants. Both the front desk and the guests were very responsive. If I needed anything delivered, I could send a message and it would be delivered promptly. Every staff member was smiling and happy to help.
All in all, this was a near-perfect stay for me. Because it has been 3 years since my last stay, the hotel is getting better and better, 👍🏻 worth staying!
GGuest UserIt was my first time to come to Kunming as a transit city to visit other places. I found a hotel at random and it was really beyond my expectation! The service was super good. The room was super comfortable. The hotel location is also very convenient. I only stayed in Kunming for one day and didn’t do any guide at all. The staff recommended me to see the seagulls! Recommended places for delicious food and shopping. Hunan people just love it! It’s really much better than the hotel I’m staying in now in Xi’an! I will stay here next time in Kunming! ! Highly recommended! ! ! !
ZZealliuHygiene: As expected, but the floor becomes dusty after walking on it for a while
Environment: Satisfactory, 3 minutes away from Chuanjin Road subway station, but the hotel is close to the main road and is noisy.
Service: It's OK, but they couldn't properly arrange the guest's request of not facing the road. As a result, when I entered the room, the window was facing the road. Then I reported it to the counter service, and they said that the room was not facing the road because I checked in too early and other rooms were not ready yet.
There was also no razor left. I was disappointed that my request was not met.
Facilities: OK, but the soundproofing needs to be improved. The window can't be closed properly, so the noise can't be well blocked. Fortunately, I was really tired that day, but there were traffic horns, and I woke up and fell asleep repeatedly, and I couldn't rest well.
JJade25The location is nearby the KunMing zoo but is quite a distance to the famous street. No night life around the hotel.
The room is clean and big but the views is unexpected ugly (rooftop views).
The food served in buffet style and taste so so.
The most happy announcement is that do have lift!
GGuest UserThis is a normal budget hotel suitable for solo traveller, families and also a couple. The hotel located next to main road. Need to walk few hundred metres to reach the Metro station. So that was considered okay.
My trip was on winter. So im frustrated that the heater is not working at all. Im freaking cold the whole night. But the water heater works fine. Other than that, i think everything is just okay. Dont expect too much. It suits the price.
