One Night and One Summer Youth Hostel Reviews

Albeit the hostel is nearby the Kunming Railway Station, it’s quite hard to navigate to the right destination since it’s a complex of apartment buildings. Since I arrive early in the morning just after my night train, my calls to the host numbers kept hitting voicemails, I struck luck that the security guard helped me to find the exact location and wait at the entrance door downstairs. It’ll be best if you phone the host directly since they could speak basic English. To enter the building itself, you’ll either need to wait for someone or there’s an alternative which will be explained by the host. I think there are multiple units, but the one that I was assigned to, the run-down hostel is unkempt and has foul smells from the bedsheets, I couldn’t pinpoint what it was. The common area is cluttered with a lot of unused items like exercise books and curved monitor. The balcony has a scenic view of Kunming city, so that’s a great save. Though my stay was just for mere few hours, smells kept hitting my nose like a juggernaut especially the only bathroom, with its toilet bowl stained with poop and I felt like puking. For a 38RMB stay, it’ll be better to spend a bit more for somewhere proper.

The second night i saw no one except Some day guests who pay just for a couple hours, or the day.

Very comfortable room to stay. The guest house is really close to Kunming railway station. There are lots of food stalls and restaurants, which open until midnight. If you travel to Dali and Lijiang by train, I recommend you stay in the guest house. When we contact the owner on We Chat, she'll always answer our questions.

Great hostel with comfortable location, friendly staff and good price. I was staying here many times and I'll visit this place in future definitely.

Friendly and helpful staff but not a real hostel, just beds in an appartment. I had problems finding it but the friendly staff helped.

You get what you pay for.. not much. Bed is very hard, nowhere to lock stuff away. Quite hard to find.

A nice and well located place. The host provided me with many recommendations for places to see and where to eat. To enter the building I did have to call the host, so if you don't have a Chinese number you might need to ask someone to call him for you.

It was a pleasure to stay here. Location of this place was very near to the train statio. And its pretty easy to find i placees to get food and beverages. The staff was so helpful and very kind to help us in various manner such as finding places to eat, visit, and many other interesting places about kunming as well as other cities like Lijiang and shang rila. The facilities inside our room was excellent, kitchen and bathroom were very clean. The bed was clean with bedsheets making us so happy and memorable stay. We wish to recommend other visitors as well.

Host was super friendly and humble. He provided a lot of info for Kunming and the surroundings. He also provided what we need during the stay. Just the no. Of bathroom is quite limited. Wish him best of luck in his future

Near to Kunming railway station and metro/subway. Walking distance. If you're planning to travel via public transport, this place is good

For foreigner comrade, it’s closed to Kunming railway station within 10 mins walking and located on the third floor of an apartment complex (301 of building 10). A decent stay for a night

The place is quite close to the Kunming Train Station. SoI recommend if you wanna travel next day. It is just a few minute walk. That night I arrived quite late and got lost around the train station because I lost my internet connection. Luckily, someone helped me call the owner and he came to pick me up.
