"Nice hotel close to Jerudong park with a beautiful view from the top. A bit low on upkeep of facilities, the hotel must have seen better days in the past but still good for the price."

"I stayed with my families here and booked the room via trip and hotel, the price per night for this hotel unfortunately doesn’t feel like worth it. I am hoping to see major renovation and cleaning, the hotel need massive upgrade, everything is too old, twin room is 2 probably super single bed or is actually 2 single bed, while other country at this rate has twin room with huge super single or double bed. The breakfast is just okay, with toast, cornflakes, some other menu like nasi lemak, noodles and rice porridge. This area has no access to public transport unless you walk towards the main road.. the extreme cleaning in the room, carpets need to change or clean with soap. The only good thing.. i haven’t seen any bed bugs."

"📍Day 3 | 1st June 2025, Sunday The Empire Brunei 🇧🇳 After all the walking yesterday, today was all about rilexing in style—and what better place than the legendary Empire Brunei? ✅ And yes—it absolutely lived up to the hype. 😍 This place is more than just a hotel. It's basically its own little kingdom. Here’s what they offer: 🏀 Full country club (basketball, squash, badminton, table tennis, pools 🎱) 🏊♂️ Indoor swimming pools & jacuzzis 🏖️ Private beaches & lagoons 🚴♀️ Kayaks & bicycles 🎥 On-site cinema 👶 Kids Club 🍽️ 4 Restaurants ⛳ Golf course 🚙 Buggy rides everywhere (the place is huge!) We booked a Dart ride from Jubilee Hotel and arrived around 11AM. Although check-in was supposed to be at 2PM, we were warmly greeted by Hafiz at the front desk. He invited us to explore the facilities while we waited. Then… surprise! Our room was ready by 12PM and we even got a free upgrade to the Ocean King Sea View Room. Influencer perks? Maybe 😎 (Just kidding 😂). Thank you, Empire Brunei! A buggy took us straight to our room—and wow, it was huge, luxurious, and the sea view was something else. 🌊 Lunch was at Pantai Restaurant. My son loves the mini burgers 🍔 while we enjoyed the ocean breeze and relaxed atmosphere. Afterwards, we wandered the lobby and took in the stunning architecture—those iconic golden pillars are a masterpiece. 🏛️ After prayers, we changed into sport/swimwear and headed to the Country Club. I jumped into a pickup basketball game with two lads from the UK while wifey and my son relaxed in the indoor pool and jacuzzi nearby. 🏀🛁 Later, we visited the Kids Club— My son splashed happily while we took a breather. Just before sunset, we found a quiet spot outside. Brunei’s sunset? Absolutely underrated. 🌅 To wrap up the day, we stayed in for dinner (room service KA dendeng 😅). FYI, you need to put down a deposit to order room service. We were way too tired to head out again anyway. Rating? Empire Brunei = ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (7 stars, obviously 😂) Truly a 10/10 experience—elegant, peaceful, and unforgettable. Feeling recharged and grateful."

"I always stay at this hotel every time I go on a business trip to Brunei. Although it is not a high-end hotel, this hotel is definitely the most cost-effective, whether it is the price, customer service attitude, or cleanliness."

"Check in time is strictly at 2pm. Bed a bit hard (For me) Gym quite run down or under renovation. However it's quite convenient as the supermarket is just downstairs. "

"It fits the description of Brunei on the Internet...warm and friendly, but not very tourist-friendly. The hotel is not far from the airport, and the taxi costs 20 ven (it seems to be the same everywhere, not sure), the interior area is quite large, and the decoration is magnificent."

"The hotel wifi is horrible!!! Better to go to Starbuck to get the wifi connection. The location of the hotel is good with many nice, good restaurants nearby, all within walking distance The swimming pool is on the 2nd floor and you have to walk across the building to go to the pool which is so inconvenient. The swimming pool is pretty bare with no facilities The lobby area is quite miserable with limited seats. There is a bakery store and Starbuck is within the lobby area. The room is clean but a little old, need to do some renovation to improve on the outlook"

"Very small room but comes with an attached bathroom which is the same size as an airplane bathroom :p No hot water until we asked for it and then they came to fix it.. But location is really good.. make sure to visit the gadong night market!"

"Cleanliness overall is okay, as the room I booked comes with a private bathroom, despite there’s a exhaust fan inside the bathroom, there’s still have stinky smells came out from the toilet bowl, there’s something wrong with the plumbing system. The location was super good, is close to the centre of Gadong and with car it’s easy to access to anywhere. The service was meh.. it took long time to check in as the worker had to call her boss and one time she gave me the wrong room and I had to change it again. And the price was okay, not too cheap but not overpriced as well, overall it’s good."
