"Hotel is really convenient located within the shopping and food area. It’s just a short walk away. Cheaper parking is located nearby if required. Only weird thing is the room comes with 2 different types of pillow and we are unable to request 1 more of the type we like."
"Highly recommended!
Shopping mall is just 1 min walking distance.
Convenience store , coffee shop , restaurant is just downstairs.
The room is nice. Spacious, clean, comfy!
Service is good as usual."
"A new hotel with excellent location. It’s just next to the shopping streets with lots of restaurants & souvenir shops. Got amenities such as bath salt, tea bags, drip coffee & cleansing oil/ lotion at hotel lobby for you to pick up. The restaurant where you take breakfast commands a stunning panoramic view. Will stay here again."
"Huge bath tub within the room. Slightly bigger room than japan's average because of that but living area is smaller as a result. There is a sofa in this room but that takes up the space for luggage. Overall pretty good. Just opppsite the jr station with underground access. Sakurajima was covered by clouds when I was there."
"The location is superb, room was clean, spacious and with a nice balcony. The room provided all you need on a leisure trip.
The only downside was it was super complicated and time consuming to contact the hostel for entrance pin, check-in procedure and check-in number. We asked the front desk receptionist of our previous hotel to call the hostel number stated on trip.com booking confirmation email in morning, but no one picked up; called again at 3pm, and the hostel hotline said the number was wrong and referred us to call another number. If we did not have the assistance from a Japanese local receptionist from another hotel, I dont think we could get the entrance pin and check-in procedure information smoothly.
I recommend this hostel to Japanese local, or tourists with a Japanese mobile number to make calls/able to find assistance from Japanese local people."
"As always, the Japanese hotel is clean and sanitary. It is located in the center of the city. It is about 15 minutes walk from the station and about 10-15 minutes walk to the pier. Life is quite convenient"
"Clean room, nice beddings and good space appreciated. Hospitality and service was minimal to non existent and breakfast was outright poor. Which hotel in the world would give hotdogs (occupying two choices out of three) to guests as breakfast (not free). The other option is the unappetising granola yoghurt, or in takeaway boxes. Overall, I think there was the property was overpriced and remember not to choose the breakfast option!"
"I like this hotel. I've stayed here for 2 times. They provide a free transfer from and to Railway station and a city centre. Very good onsen with a scenic view on Sakurajima. You can also rent a bike here in the hotel for a reasonable price. Convenience store is right by the hotel."
"Very well located near everything. We could walk to the water front, buy food till midnight in the neighbourhood. The clothes freshener was very convenient. 12th floor had ice and water dispensers, vending machines and a public bath. The included breakfast coud serve as our lunch. Overall we loved our stay."

Amazing
GGuest UserVery new and rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast was good. There’s a grocery store next to hotel which made it very convenient. Not much around in walking distance. Drive to all other areas is about 10 mins.
OOlga TarAmazing hotel, truly. Conveniently located near the airport shuttle stop and tram stop. All the combini nearby, lots of restaurants and cafes. It is situated at the corner of the arcade quarters, so it is very comfortable to walk almost anywhere under the roof that protects you from both sun and rain. Walking distance from ferry to Sakurajima and toppy/rocket port to Tanegashima and Yakushima (sadly, no arcades on that stretch of distance).
The rooms are nice and clean, with comfortable beds and pillows, amenities are amazing (bath salts and coffee drips even!). The service is top-notch! They even provided a shoe drying machine and helped us on several occasions.
Probably best value for money in Kagoshima if you're looking for an affordable but comfortable stay.
二二黃What a surprisingly wonderful old ryokan! Operating for a century, its interior boasts a rich Showa-era charm. It definitely feels historic but is spotlessly clean. The true highlight was breakfast, which unexpectedly featured pork shabu-shabu. The broth was made with genuine, high-quality ingredients, and the yuzu kosho was locally sourced. Paired with the black pork, it was absolutely delicious! 😋
GGuest UserThe room is genuinely cozy, sparkling clean, and feels like a new apartment. It's about a 7-8 minute walk from Tenmonkan. The street downstairs is lined with nightclubs, so it's probably best not to return too late. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs and a local supermarket diagonally opposite, offering all sorts of fresh meat and vegetables. It was perfect for us to buy ingredients and use the room's kitchenware for a satisfying yakiniku or shabu-shabu meal. The local wagyu and kurobuta pork were incredibly fragrant and absolutely delicious! Check-in and check-out are fully self-service, which has its pros and cons. The advantage is the peace, quiet, and freedom it offers. However, the downside is that if it's raining and you need help calling a taxi, there's no staff member available to assist you. A taxi ride to Kagoshima-Chuo Station costs about 1000 yen. I would definitely choose to stay here again if I have the opportunity.
GGuest UserThe hotel is located in the Planetarium area, with an airport bus stop directly diagonally opposite. It's also just over a 10-minute walk to South Pier. Our twin room was a decent size, with enough space to open two 28-inch suitcases. The room offered a good view, but unfortunately, the windows don't open. In the bathroom, the water pressure was strong and the drain worked well, but the water temperature was a bit hard to adjust, fluctuating between hot and cold. There's a lip into the bathroom that felt a bit wobbly, so care is needed when stepping on it. The bathtub's material and design weren't ideal, which older guests should particularly note. The surrounding area offers plenty of shopping and dining options. Sukiya is right next door, and there's a well-established unagi (eel rice) restaurant nearby that serves delicious food. The hotel's cleanliness was alright, but I did find some hair. It seems the standards aren't quite comparable to what they were years ago when local staff were responsible for room upkeep, a difference perhaps influenced by the increasing presence of foreign workers in many cities. The front desk is on the second floor, and most services are semi-self-service, with self-service luggage lockers available.
TTOSHI Japan555I came to Kagoshima for work, so I stayed at this hotel. I actually bought a ticket to Kagoshima Chuo Station, but I got off at the next station, Kagoshima Station, and the hotel was within walking distance from there. It was so close that I arrived while walking while watching the tram. At night, I ate in the famous downtown area called Tenmonkan, had a meal and a drink, and felt good, so I took a taxi back to the hotel. I think it would have cost about 1,200 yen even if I had a convenience store stop. It was very close. The room here is 13 square meters, so I thought it would be small, but it was compact, but the facilities were well-equipped and very comfortable. I didn't mind the smallness. The bed was a semi-double, which was quite large. I came to Kagoshima for work, so I used a desk and chair. So that was the only disadvantage. As you can see in the photo, the chair had no backrest and was not comfortable. It was a compact room and the price was cheap, so if I wanted to do proper desk work on a chair with a backrest, I thought I would have to get a slightly larger room. But I was very satisfied with this room this time.
KKWOK LUNGLocation is very good, not near city center but right next to the famous volcano, offers a very good view. There is a 24 hours mall about 7minutes walk. Hotel is very clean, staffs are very friendly. We stayed in summer, was assigned the top floor room, so the room was a bit hot during the day time, it was ok during the night time.
GGuest UserI loved staying here!! It had such a great communal vibe to it. One of my favorite memories from traveling Japan is sitting at the low tables in the common area, eating a convenience store dinner and watching baseball on the tv. I was only there 3 nights but it felt like it would’ve been an easy place to settle into for a longer stay. There was a fridge and kitchen, two showers & toilets, laundry, luggage storage, lockers, etc. Very close to the train station. Rooms were clean, I felt like the staff did a great job on the upkeep. I would definitely recommend you stay here. The only thing to be aware of is that the mattresses are really thin so the sleeping surface feels really hard.
AAnonymous UserThe counter staff are friendly. The location is ideal, close to Kagoshima Chuo Station, very convenient. The sanitary environment is ideal and very satisfactory. Basic facilities are available.
GGuest UserThe boss is like an artist, and the Japanese speaks quickly ~ In Trip.com, you have to use VISA cards, but you don't deduct money directly in the account, and you have to pay cash on site. The location of the homestay is on the bank of the Sapporo Island Volcano. The homestay has a rooftop. You can go up to enjoy the cool and watch the sunset and watch the volcano. It is still very romantic.
