"Grand Opera Hall guest house" is the Jin Merchants' Club 300 years ago. The name of Grand Opera Hall was inscribed by Mr. Qigong, a great master of Chinese culture . The Grand Opera Hall guest house is located at the Nine Dragons of Pingyao ancient city, with Confucian temple and God of wealth temple in the west, Kuixing tower in the South and ancient city wall in the East. It was built in 1703, the 42nd year of Kangxi. In order to welcome the emperor to visit the west, four big buildings and music hall were built. In the 26th year of Guangxu, Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Guangxu traveled to the west to enjoy the opera and stayed in the Grand Opera Hall.There are 33 high-end guest rooms in the Grand Theater Hall, which are divided into luxury Kang, luxury standard room and luxury dragon bed. The restaurant has + private room, banquet hall and a national place where you can watch the performance while eating, taste Shanxi Merchants' banquet and appreciate Shanxi Merchants' local voice. The whole building is magnificent, simple and elegant, and the environment is beautiful. Excellent stay. It's a massive complex with many sections, looks beautiful day and night, perfect location near entrance gate to city wall and main roads. Room was big, clean, comfortable and nicely designed. Toiletries and breakfast included, good food. Staff very friendly, helpful and patient with my attempts at chinese/using a translator app. Overall great value, no issues at all.

Just stepped in, the antique layout made people shine, the room was clean and tidy, the facilities were complete, and the details were full of care. The room has floor heating, the welcome fruit is particularly delicious, the front desk can provide free coffee, especially delicious! The boss is warm and hospitable, not only helping to plan the play route, but also recommending authentic food. Here, I really feel the warmth of home, the children especially like it, and I will stay here next time!

The small farmyard, close to the north gate of Pingyao Ancient City, is quiet in the middle of noisy, and the choice is 2.2 meters of . A family of three lives very loosely and the sanitary conditions are good. The store is very intimate to pick up and drop off to the parking lot.

AAReally nice place, but as for most hotels, you cannot expect the staff to speak English (not a problem for me, but if you don't speak any Chinese be prepared). Location is great as it is around 2 minutes walk from 南大街/South Street and all the main museums and courtyards. The owners were very friendly and helpful, making time to explain all the places to see and were to eat. They can even help with good discounts, e.g. for the historical-themed performance '又见平遥'/Encore Pingyao as well as for restaurants.
The hotel is in a beautiful traditional courtyard, very quiet area so you will sleep well at night. The room has traditional furniture, adding to the atmosphere, and while small (but good value for the price) was comfortable. The bed is a so-called 'kang' with heating - it was so comfortable in the cold winter that it was hard to get out of bed in the morning! Part of the floor has heating too. The cleanliness is good too. I would really recommend this place, very good atmosphere and with everything you need to be comfortable.

GGuest UserI stayed 3 nights in this hostel. I liked it really much. I felt at home there. The owner are really kind, they speak English very well and, they are keen to chitchat with you after your day which is really nice when you are traveling alone. Also the hostel is really clean. On top of that, the hostel is nice with lot of plants. The location is great it's only 2 min walk to reach the old town. To conclude, i highly recommend this hostel in Pingyao and I would come back without any questions.
Je suis resté 3 nuits dans cette auberge. Je l'ai trouvé vraiment très bien. Je m'y suis senti ”comme à la maison”. Les propriétaires sont très gentils, ils parlent très bien anglais et ils aiment discuter avec vous à la fin de votre journée, ce qui est très agréable lorsqu'on voyage seul. Également, l'auberge est très propre. De plus, l'auberge est bien décorée avec se nombreuses plantes. Enfin, l'auberge est très bien située, elle est à seulement 2 min à pied de la vieille ville. Pour conclure, je recommande chaudement cette auberge et j'y retournerai sans hésitation.

The battery car pick-up and drop-off, the room is antique and unique, the owner is very enthusiastic and provides necessary help. The downside is that it is a winter trip, the bathroom is cold and the water temperature of the instant water heater is unstable.

Within Pingyao walled city, it was easy to go to visit the sites. The lady owner gave me a map. Even though I speak no Chinese and they speak no English, we were able to communicate using a translator app. She recommended a restaurant when I asked.
They made the utmost effort to make your stay enjoyable. The owner took me to the railway station when I left.
P.S. Best to download MAPS.ME as it will work offline. Google Maps does not work in China. The taxi will drop you outside the city wall and you can ride the shuttle to the hotel. Make sure you got the Chinese address. Also same possible, install the Wechat app as it is used widely in China - you text in English they translate to Chinese and vice versa.

RRinMMReally love the hotel’s a**osphere. It is cool both scenery and weather. There aren’t much noice and people around the hotel, a little walk and you will reach some of the tourist’s attraction. Some employees can speak english or if not, wechat is the best help. They also booked taxi and drop us off by the taxi, the service was wonderful. Will stay here again if there’s a chance of visiting.

SSaucyIf you want to explore the ancient town of Pingyao, then this hotel is fantastic.
It's 15mins away from the high speed railway. They pick up and drop out off outside the city.
With the covid regulations in place, the hotel supported me through the process and helped me gain entry into the city. I was then collected and driven to the hotel.
Check-in was smooth and the lady helped me to book tickets for the Pingyao theatre show at the same time.
I received a free upgrade from a double room to a suite.
All in all, a fantastic holiday, and a great experience.

The decoration style in the inn is very distinctive, with a strong Shanxi merchant culture style, which also lays the foundation for the travel photography provided by the inn. It is the first choice for travel photography. The location of the inn is quiet in the hustle and bustle. It is a five-minute walk to the bustling area of the ancient city center, and it is very quiet to rest at night. The inn's operators, everyone brings you joy and warmth. The big kang room is very special, and you can experience it for family travel. The only drawback is that the room is slightly small, which is understandable for an old house.

GGuest UserThe B&B is located in the center of the ancient city and is convenient for travel. The boss has carefully decorated the courtyard. When you wake up in the morning, the entire courtyard is filled with sunshine, making it warm and comfortable! The Ming and Qing Dynasty Dazhuang house we stayed in had two interior and exterior rooms. The retro home design made us feel like we were transported back in time.
