Big hotel in Japanese Onsen town. Nice and spacious rooms with river view, big Onsen bath. Buffet meals are only average, random selection of dishes and not best quality (pro tip: stick with Japanese and avoid the Western choices)

Large hotel room, clean and tidy but a bit old. Air con was not functioning much so need a fan. No special view from hotel room, was facing mountain / car park side. Limitrd car park space at hotel, but they could arrnage shuttle bus connecting a public parking area. Busy hotel restaurant, which means long queue for food. Hotel staff are nice and can speak english. Mixed onsen, but the floor of onsen was not even, difficult to walk through.

We stayed here for 3 nights. It was busy at the time we were here. The room is clean and well equipped. The buffet, breakfast and dinner, was delicious with a good variety of food.
The staff were friendly and helpful. There’s a free parking in front of the hotel.
From the hotel it’s a short walk to the Kurodake Ropeway.
It was nice to stay here in the hotel.

There is a large stove in the hotel lobby with a warm atmosphere. The lobby decoration is full of modernity. It is completely different from the traditional Japanese-style rooms in the hotel. However, the rooms are relatively old and the hygiene is OK. Yukata is also provided for guests. You might as well try the 5th floor when staying. The open-air bath faces the woods and has a high degree of privacy. Dinner is a buffet with not many types of food, but all-you-can-eat roasted crab legs are provided. The location is close to Galaxy Falls and Ryusei, which can be reached in 45 minutes by walk. In the other direction, Sounkyo Cable Car Station can be reached in 15 minutes by walk.

I travel around Japan every year and have stayed in many Japanese hotels, both cheap and high-end. I am quite familiar with Japanese hotels. This hot spring hotel is quite disappointing. The location is remote and the opening time is long. I am mentally prepared for this. However, many hotels in Japan that have been open for a long time are also well maintained. This one is visibly old. The photos are much better than the scene. I also saw their photos online before and thought it was acceptable, because there are really no good hotels in Sounkyo, but this one is worse than I imagined.
1. Breakfast and dinner are buffets. Only on special holidays will there be a kaiseki cuisine that is usually available in hot spring hotels. The buffet varieties are average, but it is the first time that I can see flying insects in the breakfast of a Japanese hotel.
2. The hotel rooms and corridors are relatively old. The facilities and hygiene of the rooms are poor in Japan. The male and female areas of the hot springs are exchanged every day, but there is only one open-air hot spring, and the facilities in the hot springs are also relatively old.
3. To go back and forth from Sapporo Station to the hotel, you can make an appointment for the hotel's shuttle bus in advance, which is the one in the photo, but it is charged, 2,500 yen per person one-way. There was originally a shuttle bus to Asahikawa Station, but it was cancelled as long as there were no reservations from guests a few days in advance. So if you say you need it when you arrive at the hotel, they will not arrange to open the shuttle bus, and if you do not make an appointment for the shuttle bus in advance after booking the room, the number will be limited and it will be booked out. In this regard, the hotel will not confirm with the agent in advance, and the agent will not remind the guests. This place does not have a shuttle bus and you can transfer to public transportation by yourself, which is very inconvenient.
4. There is nothing near the hotel. The nearest convenience store is a long walk away. The Daxue Hotel opposite is better than theirs. Although the hotel is also old, it has its own izakaya at night, as well as a bakery, and the hot springs will have better scenery than this one.
5. There is nothing to see in Sounkyo at this time. Generally speaking, the location of this place is inconvenient, and the hotel facilities are poor. You can only go there during the most beautiful time period. However, there are many places with good scenery in Hokkaido, and there are many places to see maple leaves. If you don't like tossing, you don't need to come here.

The hotel has only one advantage near the station, but it is not easy to pull a luggage to the station in heavy snow. The hotel does not provide pick-up and drop-off. It seems that there is no vehicle to send guests outside the snow and the whole snow recently. The hotel is cheap so the Wendian is very simple. One night of dinner was a buffet with more fruit oranges. I ate about four or so. Because I cut so few pieces, the waiter immediately black noodles. I told me not to take it in Japanese. In fact, the food was wasteless. The restaurant would not do this. In fact, I observed a lot of travel and stayed in a nearby hotel. Because it was a holiday, I stayed in Zhongfu first, this hotel is really bad in Laiyunxia.

The location is very good, just opposite the visitor center and the Blackey Ropeway. It is best for climbing. It takes 3 minutes to drive to Hongye Valley and drive to the popular waterfall and Galaxy Waterfall for about 5 minutes. It is very convenient. Morning and evening meals are good, especially at night, the buffet is very good, Japanese sake shochu whisky has, you can also make cocktails. The hot spring is small but of good quality. It is known as the only natural hot spring in Sounkyo. It’s okay to bring a child, three mattresses and four people sleep enough. The overall catch is that the entire layer of Yunyun Gorge (not only this 🏨) style is more old-fashioned, mainly for middle-aged tourists and hikers, feeling more dull. The restaurant waiter also has a nepal brother who has good English and a good service attitude.
