"Very nice hotel , great stay, don’t missed the dinner buffet even abit pricey - worth"

"From the moment the shuttle picked us up from the Tabist Hotel in Asahikawa to our check-in, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We accidentally left our thermos on the shuttle, and they quickly retrieved it for us. The onsen (hot spring bath) itself had a distinct sulfur smell, which I absolutely loved! The bingo game at 8 PM (500 yen per card) really got the atmosphere going. The only downside was dinner; when we arrived around 6:45 PM, almost all the food was gone. A large tour group arrived shortly after, and even then, the food wasn't replenished. They just brought out fried chicken wings and fried fish, and even drinks weren't restocked in time. We ended up just eating ice cream, which made us feel colder and colder. It felt like they were afraid of people actually eating, which I really disliked. I would have been more impressed with a kaiseki meal in that situation. However, what I really need to complain about is the 'Sounkyo Ice Waterfall Festival.' It's unacceptable that just because we arrived on the last day, there was absolutely nothing left. All the attractions were gone, leaving only sponsor flags. How many fireworks were there? If the organizers charge an entry fee, shouldn't there be corresponding insurance? There wasn't any. I know that ice sculptures can be slippery, but simply throwing down a few plastic anti-slip mats isn't a proper solution. I had to keep reminding my elderly companions, 'Watch your step!' Unfortunately, one of our elders still fell. When we asked the event staff for assistance, we were told that since we were independent travelers, only our own insurance would cover it. The most they could do was have our hotel staff call an ambulance. Is that right? The rest of our trip was completely ruined because of this... completely ruined."

"The room was spacious and pleasant, with plenty of room even after opening one 25-inch suitcase and two carry-on bags. The bed and bedding were also in excellent condition, allowing me to get a good night's sleep. Lying in bed, the view of Sounkyo Valley unfolds just like in the photos, which is a delightful experience. Additionally, all the staff I met during my stay were friendly, making for a comfortable stay."

"We had a miserable time at Hotel Kumoi. The staff were extremely unfriendly and cold from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Reception made no attempt to welcome us or make us feel at home, and we felt like unwelcome intruders rather than guests. It feels as though the staff hate their jobs, resent their customers, and wish they were anywhere else. To make matters worse, the onsen had mold growing on the roof and it was not possible to relax there either."

"This was a wonderful hostel stay. The room was great, the shared spaces were inviting, friendly and social, and the hostel had a well communicated and communal feel. We met wonderful people and enjoyed it the most in our stay in Hokkaido. Close to hiking and ropeway, good food, and best service. Highly recommend for foreign families traveling to this amazing area."

"Most of the staff were Nepalese, so I couldn't communicate very clearly in Japanese, which was a bit disappointing. However, most of them were friendly, so it didn't matter whether they were Japanese or Nepalese. However, the time limit for the all-you-can-eat and drink dinner was unclear, which I felt was a lack of explanation from Trip.com. Many of the dishes were salty, and although I don't know who was cooking them, I found them unhealthy. I would definitely return if they reduced the salt content of the hot pot and used a more delicious broth. The 60-minute all-you-can-eat and drink time was too short, so I had to eat as much as I could to enjoy a satisfying meal. I hope Trip.com reflects on this as well. It had been a while since I'd bathed in a hot spring, but the quality was so good that I bathed about five times during my stay. I expected to get salmon roe at dinner, but the salmon roe I got at breakfast was clearly not salmon roe, and the pieces were small. I ate it for breakfast the next day, but it didn't taste good, so on the second and third days, I didn't even touch the salmon roe, even though it was supposed to be a salmon roe ingredient. There was also a description that said there were scallops, but there were none. I don't like to point out things, but I thought it would be better to make this clear to future guests, so I wrote a review."
