Best Hornafjordur Hotels

This is the best hotel in the whole Iceland trip. Reception is super friendly and helpful. All corners are new and clean. Restaurant provides nice food at reasonable price. Free hot tub and sauna facing the glacier. I am just unlucky that the weather was so bad that I cannot really enjoy the view. Breakfast is a must add item as it is so worthwhile. It’s a perfect location if you visit the glacier tour or visit Jökulsárlón.

Because I made an appointment to see the ice cave the next day, I found that it was only 46 kilometers away from the meeting point. Although I had to go back, the price was the most cost-effective, so I booked it. We didn’t arrive at Glacier Lagoon until 10 o’clock in the evening. After taking pictures, we arrived at the hotel at 11:30. I discovered that there is a large glacier behind the hotel. You can completely see it from the window of the room. When you were lying on the bed, you also found that there was a skylight on the roof. You could see it while lying on the bed. See the stars and auroras! The space is indeed a bit small (a common phenomenon in Icelandic hotels!), but despite its small size, it was fully equipped and we made dinner in the room. There is floor heating in the bathroom, which is very nice👍

Moreover, the hotel is not far from several famous tourist attractions, such as the glacier lake and buried waterfall, and you can easily arrange your trip. In terms of overall feeling, Old Cottages gives people a warm and comfortable feeling. The room design is unique and full of traditional Icelandic style, which makes people feel a kind of return to the real charm. Whether it is an interior decoration, it is a natural environment outside, it makes people feel relaxed. Living in the city, you can really enjoy a pleasant and unforgettable holiday, definitely worth a try!

The restaurant environment is very good, the dinner is delicious and the price is moderate, it is worth a try. The room facilities are complete and the service staff is good.

Clean, spacious, well equipt, family friendly and good customer service! 😊 Tough times are a blessing in disguise, it always reveals the true color of the people around us. We planned to stay in 2020 however Covid happened. Team was very understanding and accommodating to our predicament. It was a happy surprise to find premise exceeding our expectations too! Shoes are well organised with rack and oraginsers neatly stacked at entrance. Reception was friendly and informative. Room was clean and neat. In room wash basin was a big plus! There were 2 spacious and well equipt WCs to our section of 6-8rooms. 2 spacious dining areas, 1 large double fridge, 1 single fridge, spacious well equipt kitchen with various prep tables and 2-3+ sinks, pots/pans of various sizes, kitchen towels, utensils, cutleries, hot water dispenser, toaster, coffee percolator, sandwich press, oven, microwave, beverages and absolutely all one needs in the kitchen and more are furnished. It is also children friendly with baby chair, cot and safe play area provided. Rooms are well sectioned with family rooms assigned at the back, away from the hustle and bustle. There are also rooms in basement. There is also a washer/dryer and small drying rack at the far end, past kitchens and book cabinet with reading materials for the avid reader. We had a good comfortable night stay and hope you do too! 🙂

This hotel is very good. It is right in the town of Hofn. The town is not very big. I saw the northern lights in the hotel! I was very lucky. The room is very big and has a high ceiling. The family room can accommodate 4 people. It is a two-story loft. The price-performance ratio is very high. Breakfast is provided. Milk coffee is free all day!

The hotel is located next to the gas station at the entrance to the town and the rooms are simple and clean. There are supermarkets and various handicraft shops nearby. It is especially recommended that the restaurants in the town eat lobsters. Each has its own characteristics. In short, it is worth living in the town for two days.

The biggest feeling is that the space of the bathroom and toilet in the room was added later, it is very cramped, the waterproofing and decoration also feel like they were rushed, and the drainage has a bit of an unpleasant smell. Everything else is pretty good, especially the food in the restaurant on the first floor is very good. Recommended to order the grilled chicken breast with mashed potatoes, the chicken breast is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and it is delicious with mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes

It is a very good choice. Although it is a shared bathroom, it is not inconvenient at all. When I booked it, I didn’t bring breakfast, but it was actually provided. Although the hotel is not big, it feels very warm, just in the town. All aspects are very convenient.

Hepburn really had to set the hotel early, because it was too late, so I lived in two places with my friends. I thought this cheap would be very bad. The result was much better than I thought. Although it was a public bathroom, the small apartment felt neat. The kitchen equipment is all available. It is a good choice for overnight stays. The neighbors are of high quality. The used utensils are cleaned up and quiet. They are much quieter than each other. It is much better than another hotel with more than 2,000.
