Perfect
AAngel_WongHIt’s a perfect getaway for the hustle and bustle of our city life. We have enjoyed a lot of the onsen experience. Worth mention that the hotel has offered several activities on spot, fishing, a walking trail around the island with a scenic onsen foot bath.

GGuest UserTips for friends who come to this hotel by train: There are two stations to get here, one is Kushimoto Station, which is more than two kilometers away, but it is a normal road, that is, there is a sidewalk (Picture 1). We arrived at around 10 o'clock in the evening. Although there were very few people walking by, There is only a short section of the road that is dark, but overall it is easy to walk, and the restaurants open at night are all concentrated near Kushimoto Station. The other is Kiihime Station, which is more than one kilometer away. Although it is close, it is a very small station. The walk from this station to the hotel is like a highway without sidewalks. People have to walk on the driveway (Picture 2 3) When we left the next morning, Google's navigation told us to go this way. We didn't see any street lights along the way. It's hard to imagine how dangerous it was to go this way the night before. It is recommended that if you can take a taxi, it is best. If you walk there, you should choose to get off at Kushimoto Station, which is farther but safer.

TTrissyThis is our last stay of our Kumano hiking. Since it was winter, not that many guests. There are a few toilets and face washing areas. We had a cozy stay. The location is very close to the JR station. The other side of the JR station is full of restaurants. We decided to rent a car to travel along the coastal area then back to Wakayama the next day. Toyota-a-car is the only car rental shop to allow us to do so, which is also extremely close to this accommodation. Just 5 mins walk. You’ll have to book to use the onsen. The water is hot enough to save my legs after a long hiking day. Value for money, highly recommended.

GGuest UserI'm a big fan of onsen hotels and tried almost 10 different onsen hotels so far in Japan and this one is definitely the biggest one, even though its not that Japanese style and a bit old overall. The cave onsen (it has 2) is awesome!!! And have a deck to see sunset and ocean view. The turtle boat is cute.

CcoralcatKii Katsuura is small and convenient to go everywhere... The hotel is just opposite the pier... Although the breakfast is simple, it is still very convenient because there is not much food for sale in the morning... Eating salmon or grilled fish in the morning is still a bit unacceptable... The hotel is good, and the boss also helps to store luggage when you go early

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is about 10 minutes walk from Kii Katsuura JR Station, and there is a Family Mart nearby. It is recommended to book a night and two meals. The Kii Katsuura Hotel closes early and has very few meals. The hotel's breakfast and dinner are delicious, and every meal is very filling. There are also night snacks such as Dandan noodles. There is one indoor and one outdoor hot spring, which is very comfortable. There are complete toiletries and skin care products inside, and there are few people.

GGuest UserWe chose Kushimoto Mercure as a transit hotel on the way to Kii Katsuura. Unexpectedly, both Kushimoto and Mercure gave us a surprise! The hotel has a pick-up bus at Kushimoto Station. The body of the bus is written in English, so everyone should pay attention. Although the hotel is not far from the station, it is on the mountain, so don't push the suitcase up. The taxi is just the starting price. The hotel room is not small, and the decoration standard is very ordinary for an economy hotel. It is clean and hygienic. There are free snacks, beer and drinks in the lobby in the afternoon and evening, and there are several kinds of wine in the evening. It's nice to have a drink in the evening. The hotel's buffets in the morning and evening are very good, all kinds of seafood sashimi are very fresh, and wine and drinks are free to drink. The hotel hot spring is very good and clean, and you can see the Hashigawa Rock from the outdoor hot spring pool. The sea of Kushimoto is very beautiful on a sunny day, and there are some small attractions around it that are worth visiting. There are also two large supermarkets in front of the station, with many things and cheap. The hotel service is very good, and the hotel bus driver is very friendly.

GGuest UserSunrise Katsuura is a vintage coastal hotel at Nachikatsuura. It was nice to have a clean tatami floor with comfy futon, and one of the best views of the Pacific Ocean from our room. They have yukata for you to wear and you can wear it within the hotel, as well as outside. There is an onsen with a small outdoor area which was a bonus. Location wise, it is a good base for any of the sites (Nachi Grand Shrine and Waterfall), restaurants, and grocery options. You can also walk along the coastline and there is a beach, though it looks like nobody uses it. Your room has a toilet, but no shower. You must shower at the onsen. Also, they do not provide you with bottled drinking water. Their onsen also does not provide drinking water, so prepare yourself for that. There are not a lot of sockets to plug into for your devices. If you want the breakfast and/or dinner, you must book it in advance with your reservation. You cannot pay to get breakfast or dinner afterwards.

GGuest UserThe hotel is built in the mountains and needs to go through a 100-meter-long tunnel to get there. After getting off at Katsuura Station, walk for 1.4 kilometers, or take a taxi, as I remember, it costs more than 700 yen. The hotel's lobby, rooms and hot springs all face the bay, which is very pleasant. The staff was very enthusiastic and provided the timetable for the Kumano Kodo bus and the Ji の Matsushima Cruise. The breakfast is Japanese style and very rich. Although it does not have the sunrise scenery of Urashima Hotel, it is cheap and good.

VVictorLocation 10/10: in close proximity to the railway station, bus station convenience store. They have parking spaces, for cars and bikes. also kind of close to the town center, where the restaurants are and the store are. Staff 10/10: friendly and welcoming, tried their best to explain the how things works. facilities Basic facilities, toilets are abundant, clean. Sinks are clean. individual room, with AC, and TV, there's a drying wire in the room, where you can pull out a nylon wire to the other side of the wall and hang your towels or clothing. there's an actual onsen, very cool, although, in my opinion, it closes fairly early, travellers should plan ahead when they want to try it out.
