Hotel Muare is one of the more popular hotels in the Tulum area. It is a perfect getaway if you want to have a quiet time from the hustle-and-bustle of the city to recharge. The rooms are designed to look like houses in the remote places but with all the modern amenities. It also is a great option for someone who cares about staying at an Instagrammable hotel/resort. There is one restaurant which provides good food.
Negatives:
-Getting to the hotel will require you to drive through really broken dirt road with several pits.
-While the food options are good, if you’re someone with a dietary restrictions - e.g., vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, don’t eat red meat or raw fish, etc. you may run out of options quickly. The staff is flexible though, so they may customize few dishes for your suiting.
-In general Tulum is expensive. However, Muare is up a notch. While it was a great place to stay, the price didn’t seem justifiable to me. Specially, since I don’t care as much about capturing Instagrammable photos.
-While the staffs are helpful and friendly, their extreme focus on getting money out of you is just off putting. Examples: we planned to have food by the pool and it took them forever to get us the food. They missed certain items in the order. We also had issues with our food (fly in maple syrup) which was still fine (since bugs/insects can fall in your food when you live in the nature). However, when we reported and asked for a replacement, they never returned with the fresh maple syrup. Finally, I had to go to the restaurant and pick it up myself. However, when it came to asking you to pay, they would run behind you to get your sign. On top of that, there is a default tip amount included in the bill which some of them may not even care to mention to you. While checking out as well, they added a hefty service charge to the bill - this on top of the already expensive booking fee.
Overall, my review is that it is a good place to stay. However, too expensive and the cost is not really justifiable. Plus for the good service they provide, it is really off putting when you see how focused they’re on getting more money out of you in any way possible.
The hotel is very small, shop, not busy and has all the luxury. The staff are ready to help you day and night.
The service is good but the staff is so helpful and subdued that it feels almost uncomfortable.
The breakfast is a la carte, and you will have two choices every time, very diverse and with healthy options.
The hotel has a great deal of facilities such as snorkeling with a guide (including) if you wish. However, the hotel was very difficult to find algae on the beach when we were there (in July). They can do little more, it is cleaned regularly, but the split algae are kept a little next to the beach, and then removed.
The location is tricky. On the one hand, very remote and on a quiet beach with enough facilities. On the other hand, if you are looking for more variation and not want to use the surrounding restaurants of ”luxe” hotels you should also have some trouble. Tulum center is a quarter with the car which is not the problem but the access to the hotel****** It is very hobbit and full of deep holes. You need to make some effort to get out there. The airport is also at 1.5 hours driving, with a lot of beach traffic even early morning (7 hours).
If you want to use the restaurant, the price-quality ratio is questionable, and we found it very highly overpriced because you paid 20 euros for all simple plastic cocktails or hamburgers. If you don't find that a problem, you can get all kinds of food to your room.
And lastly, the whole setting looks more luxurious than it is, and for the price-quality ratio, it must be noted that small details such as TV that does not work properly or slow internet connection become important.

It's a small but worthwhile hotel. The hotel operates Marriott's official website, and the price on Trip.com was so good that I made a reservation through Trip.com.
Because it was an all-inclusive rate, I enjoyed food and drinks to my heart’s content. It was located in downtown Tulum, so it was nice to walk to a large supermarket.

My favorite hotel!
I also held my wedding here
The hotel is beautiful, and there are two museums that are also beautiful in the same style.
If you also like the original ecology, don’t hesitate to order directly
The scenery is incomparably beautiful, be sure to choose a sea view room
This is a hotel you must visit in your life!
Excellent room and surroundings. The balcony is spacious and directly facing a sunset. There are two restraunts and two public pools for amenities. Great staff, great food, great facility. The hotel is bigger than it looks. Good price overall, though the beech might be a little far for people who didnt rent bikes/cars.

Outstanding
GGuest UserA Haven of Tranquillity
The most wonderful place to stay. Everything was super amazing. Location is great, inbetween the beach and Main Street, hire a bike, makes it easier. Built around trees and an open central space, oozes peacefulness. The Kasa & bedrooms are beautifully designed, huge bed, lovely shower, coffee machine & super comfy. Pool/rooftop bar & food with loungers. A great breakfast too. Last but not least, the staff were wonderful, especially Omar. Could not recommend enough. 😁
DDidiOur stay at Tago Tulum was simply outstanding! The hotel itself is a paradise – the rooms look even better than in the photos, with spacious layouts, beautiful decor, and that perfect blend of luxury and Tulum’s bohemian style. The beachfront view and peaceful ambiance made it the ideal place to unwind.
What really made our experience unforgettable was the exceptional service, especially from Victor. He took care of everything we needed, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless and enjoyable. Victor’s warmth and attention to detail made us feel right at home – a true gem! Tago Tulum is a must for anyone visiting Tulum, and we can’t wait to return

GGuest UserHotels staff were friendly the hotel was clean. It was a very nice ambiance. I love the rooftop pool. My only problem was that it’s nothing open late to eat or drink. Hotels staff were friendly the hotel was clean. It was a very nice ambience. I love the rooftop pool. My main issue was that it’s nothing open late to eat or drink. They should have vending machines or some type of service if you get thirsty after 10 PM.
TT_DIncredible place, sophisticated architecture and exceptional service! We went with God's children and had a very pleasant time, they loved it! The only downside is the extra costs for food and drinks, which are quite high!
SShayna0The hotel is beautiful, very jungle like feeling, peaceful and quiet. Love the little cenote. Would be nice if there was a variety of food. Only 1 restaurant, small menu, and it opens 8am so you can't get coffee/tea. The rooms dont have anything to make tea/coffee, So you'd need to head out, there's a nice French bakery 5mins walk away. The location is a little remote but with a,scooter or atv you can get to the beach or town in 15-20mins.

GGuest UserWe had an overall wonderful experience for our 7 days spent at Hotelito Azul! We went with another couple and each stayed in the Oceanfront Suites (we were above them, they were ground level). The rooms were clean and spacious. Somewhat limited storage for clothes but we made the best of the shelving/hanging unit provided. The shower is a dream. The maid service cleaned our room daily and did a wonderful job! We loved the treats left on our pillows each day. AC was yours to control. One challenge we faced that would have a simple fix was the lack of rugs in the room. You’re walking through sand to get to your room and yes, there’s a bucket of water to rinse before entering however we were desperate for a small outdoor rug or just something at either the sides or foot of the bed to brush off sand before getting in bed. Interestingly, our friends downstairs had an awesome runner at the foot of their bed so maybe just consistency with that would make a huge difference! You wake to a cute basket with coffee each morning and they will refill your drinking water as much as you need it in the room. We can’t say enough good things about the staff. You communicate to them through What’sApp which offered quick responses to any questions or concerns or when ordering food/drink. Larissa, the concierge was WONDERFUL. She welcomed us every day and made us feel right at home and taken care of during our stay. She helped fill out trip with wonderful experiences whether it be tours, great local spots for food/drink or logistics. We rented scooters from the hotel the majority of our vacation days and it was well worth it. We did find the prices just across the street were cheaper however we liked the convenience of renting through the hotel. The food and drink at the hotel is all delicious, although we quickly learned that eating and drinking on the beach does get expensive, so we chose wisely when/how much we ate at the hotel. This just comes with the location. The physical location of the hotel is ideal because it isn’t too far down into the beach strip, which traffic became pretty bad the further you drove in. The aesthetic and details of the hotel are perfect for making you feel like you’re living in a whimsical jungle. FYI to all looking to stay on the beach in Tulum, during April-November or so, Tulum gets a massive amount of seaweed that makes it nearly impossible to swim in the ocean. The hotels, including Hotelito Azul, do their best to remove as much seaweed from the beach as possible, but man, is it an uphill battle. This limited our ability to sit out on the beach unfortunately, because the only relief from the heat was the outdoor shower. Which, again, is lovely, but not the ocean. Luckily, Tulum has so many other wonderful things to do that we did not feel this impacted our trip in any significant way. Those that travel during the better months have a lovely beachfront area to look forward to at Hotelito Azul. All in all, we loved our stay at this hotel and look forward to returning in the future! Thank you all!

TT&J007Nice hotel, especially for the price. Right on the ocean with hammocks and beds on the beach to use. It is a little farther from the town of Tulum and the taxis will rip you off, however it is a very nice location. Everyone who works there was lovely and we enjoyed our stay.

LLuis Fernando QuirozThe hotel is located around 1,5 km from a bus station. It was quite easy to find. In front of it there is a huge supermarket, many bars and restaurants around. The room was clean, it has all the amenities in it including beach towels. I didn’t like the service of the restaurant on the first floor. The food they served was cold, lettuce seemed to be unwashed. Tips were included automatically to the bill which I refused to give taking into consideration the level of their service.
DDandI started out in my younger days staying at 3 star hotels working myself up to 5 star hotels these days. On this recent weekend trip i held back on my post xmas spending and got a great deal at Kore so I took a chance on it despite all the negative reviews. I think the 1 out 5 star ratings are ridiculously unfair. Rooms were big, clean, and comfy. Location was decent and had great views of the sea. I only had breakfast as I like to get out and explore, so I couldn't tell you much about the quality of food. The waiters were good, as soon as I sat down, my coffee was poured. After they recognized I tip, I never had to wait in line to get my omelets...lol. best part was the service from the front desk concierge (the Mexican soap opera looking guy) Victor. Dude was always so nice and helpful. Upon checkout, I had a late flight out, he knew that I love bike riding, so he let me keep my bracelet to have access until my shuttle arrived. I did not experience most of the issues on these reviews. English speaking staff was a challenge, but i found that was an issue everwhere I was in Tulum. Overall, if you were to go by the strict AAA guidelines, this hotel would probably recieve a 3-3.5 rating and closer to a 4 by the generous booking sites. This was no Hyatt, but a good value. Dont let those 1 star ratings discourage you.
My rating does not include the quality of food...
