There is no shower and no lights. We are ready, but we live on the first floor and we were chopped to death by the people on the second floor. We were still walking around at two o'clock in the morning, and there were people arguing next door until late 🥹 All the staff's services can't be said. In other words, this place is enough for a day. The price/performance ratio is not too high, and the breakfast is good.

We stayed 6 days at Alaya for a yoga retreat (Bliss Camp Retreats) and the entire experience was amazing. The entire property is breath taking and the sun rises are not to be missed. The location is great, many shops and restaurants nearby. Though we did not need to go to any other restaurant because every meal and drink we had at Alaya was delicious. Carla and David at the front desk were always there to fulfill any request, arrange transportation, and answer any questions we had. They arranged for our massages...which were amazing...which we were able to do on our ocean front balcony. Our room was always clean and they even turn on your AC at turn down. Edwin was ALWAYS around to tend to our group. He was there in the morning for coffee and there at night helping the staff with Dinner. Santos and Filiberto on the beach remembered our drinks after the second day and worked tirelessly serving and setting up umbrellas and beds for everyone. They kept the beach and the grounds clean and beautiful. Ismael and Fernando also worked so hard serving and taking care of everyone. The staff and service was second to none. I wish I knew more of the names of the people behind the scenes because they all deserve credit for the total experience we had at Alaya. I cannot recommend Alaya enough.

We had an overall wonderful experience for our 7 days spent at Hotelito Azul! We went with another couple and each stayed in the Oceanfront Suites (we were above them, they were ground level). The rooms were clean and spacious. Somewhat limited storage for clothes but we made the best of the shelving/hanging unit provided. The shower is a dream. The maid service cleaned our room daily and did a wonderful job! We loved the treats left on our pillows each day. AC was yours to control. One challenge we faced that would have a simple fix was the lack of rugs in the room. You’re walking through sand to get to your room and yes, there’s a bucket of water to rinse before entering however we were desperate for a small outdoor rug or just something at either the sides or foot of the bed to brush off sand before getting in bed. Interestingly, our friends downstairs had an awesome runner at the foot of their bed so maybe just consistency with that would make a huge difference! You wake to a cute basket with coffee each morning and they will refill your drinking water as much as you need it in the room. We can’t say enough good things about the staff. You communicate to them through What’sApp which offered quick responses to any questions or concerns or when ordering food/drink. Larissa, the concierge was WONDERFUL. She welcomed us every day and made us feel right at home and taken care of during our stay. She helped fill out trip with wonderful experiences whether it be tours, great local spots for food/drink or logistics. We rented scooters from the hotel the majority of our vacation days and it was well worth it. We did find the prices just across the street were cheaper however we liked the convenience of renting through the hotel. The food and drink at the hotel is all delicious, although we quickly learned that eating and drinking on the beach does get expensive, so we chose wisely when/how much we ate at the hotel. This just comes with the location. The physical location of the hotel is ideal because it isn’t too far down into the beach strip, which traffic became pretty bad the further you drove in. The aesthetic and details of the hotel are perfect for making you feel like you’re living in a whimsical jungle. FYI to all looking to stay on the beach in Tulum, during April-November or so, Tulum gets a massive amount of seaweed that makes it nearly impossible to swim in the ocean. The hotels, including Hotelito Azul, do their best to remove as much seaweed from the beach as possible, but man, is it an uphill battle. This limited our ability to sit out on the beach unfortunately, because the only relief from the heat was the outdoor shower. Which, again, is lovely, but not the ocean. Luckily, Tulum has so many other wonderful things to do that we did not feel this impacted our trip in any significant way. Those that travel during the better months have a lovely beachfront area to look forward to at Hotelito Azul. All in all, we loved our stay at this hotel and look forward to returning in the future! Beautiful looking hotel in a convenient center town location. Rooms are small but have everything you need. Food and drinks are great when they get to you because service is a bit slow so order with enough time. Nonetheless we were treated nicely by the staff. The rooftop pool and the view from there is gorgeous.

In the national park, the environment is very good. The single cabin has a hammock, complete facilities, and comfortable bedding. The service is warm and thoughtful, and the beach is beautiful. The lights are dim at night, which is not very convenient. If you encounter wind and rain, you can only call for room service, which has few choices and is not cheap. There are many people at breakfast, and the waiting time is long. But other than that, the overall experience is very good, and you can walk to the ruins park, it is worth staying

As a family of 4, with two young children we had a great time. Food: Buffet food was great and a lot of diversity. The à la carte restaurants you should definitely try the Mediterranean, the Gourmet and Mikado. Room: Very clean and the room service was always done and never missed anything. Pool: pool is clean, with a lots of entertainment and activities. There are things to do all day, volleyball, games, aqua fit classes, cooking classes, bingo, ping pong, etc. The entertainment team is great and make sure you have fun. Kids club: Amazing! Thank you to the whole team for watching after my kids. They loved it so much that they were eager to go next day. They rehe****d during the day and participated in all kind of shows at night. The kids club team had all kinds of activities going all day and they use Whats Up to text you if your child need anything, including pictures of what they were doing. Great WIFI throughout the whole resort. Don’t miss the magic show at the Coba theatre if you have kids.

My husband, small children ( 2 and 4), and I just returned from our 3rd year visiting Bahia Principe Grand Tulum. The first two years the resort was exceptional. The food, the entertainment, the facilities, and above all else the staff. Every single year the servers at the buffet and bartenders have been a large part of what makes our vacation so relaxing and special. Emilia, Francisco, and Lidia at the buffet are absolute gems. They not only do a phenomenal job refilling beverages and remembering guest preferences day up day, but they are loving and go above and beyond with the children. Jorge at the Truck is also a treasure. He not only smiled and joked with my children, but he also proactively brought numerous napkins and ketchup refills so my husband and I could actually eat lunch. These staff members are amazing, hardworking, and don't get nearly enough recognition! For parents traveling with small children the staff alone is a good reason to visit this hotel. Now to the negative ( and I am so sad to have to write a negative this year!). In years past there has been a self-serve cerveza, water, And juice bar next to the children's pools. Following that it's about a 5-minute walk to the truck to go to their beverage station with the full bar. That self-serve station was vital because as a parent with young children there's no way to leave your children alone in the pool while you grab the beverage. Sadly, this year the self-serve station was not working. Which meant that either my husband or myself had to watch both children in the pool or we had to pack up the kids just to quickly walk over and get something to drink. For a five-star resort. This was quite the negative. It's a small thing, but it really impacted the quality and relaxation of our trip. Definitely something for parents with young kids to consider. Additionally, the Burger bar wasn't open which means that if you wanted a quick lunchtime snack option you could only go to the truck and that had long lines. Finally, we saw several snakes on tht property. We had never seen them in the past, and , I understand that this is the tropics and It's the snake's home first, as a parent that was still terrifying. Sadly, this may be a deal-breaker for us returning for a fourth visit.

Casa Malca is a Romantic, high end resort that catered to all our needs with superior attention. The food was delicately and beautifully presented. The staff were personable and friendly. The massage was out of this world. Diana Saldamando had magical and healing hands. My back aches restored and fixed with gentle and pointed attention. I highly recommend her! It was my birthday, and the staff treated me like a king. Our dining table was decorated with rose petals, spelling “Happy Birthday”. Philosophy’s restaurant manager offered us complimentary drinks and cake. The Concierge Manager offered us an upgrade with balloons and a bottle of champagne in the room!

Nestled amidst lush greenery, Orchid Hotel in Tulum strikes a lovely balance between natural charm and modern comfort. From the moment we arrived and were greeted with a delightful welcome drink, the tone for a relaxing retreat was set. The hotel's unique architecture is a visual treat, harmonizing beautifully with its peaceful surroundings, yet it's conveniently walkable to the city's vibrant heart. The staff at Orchid Hotel deserves a special mention for their friendly and attentive service, always on hand to help and enhance our stay. Our room was a sanctuary of space and comfort, featuring a large, cozy bed that was perfect for restful nights. The spacious shower and the private outdoor bathtub added a touch of luxury, though the need for staff intervention to empty the tub did slightly limit our spontaneity. A standout feature was the complimentary access to the hotel’s exclusive beach club, enhancing our experience with lovely seaside relaxation options. On the downside, we faced a couple of hitches. There was an unpleasant odor from the toilet that was hard to ignore, and the breakfast—despite its hefty price tag—was underwhelming in both variety and flavor. Despite these issues, the positives of Orchid Hotel overshadow the negatives. Its tranquil location, combined with the generous room amenities, friendly service, and added beach club access, makes it a place I would happily recommend for a serene getaway in Tulum.
