We had a lovely stay at Diamonds Inn. We booked the Standard Suite, Ensuite 3-bed room which is located at the top floor of the building. A very quaint compact en-suite family room great for a group of friends or family. All basic amenities are there including towels, shampoo and shower gels. There’s also an electric water kettle, coffee/tea, hair dryer and a small fridge! Beds are soft and comfy. Walls are thin and may hear voices of other guests in the halls during the day but was not a major issue during our stay, mostly quiet after 10pm. Location is very convenient as its only a stones throw away from one of the famous wall entrances, a pub and restaurant across and York Minster. Host was lovely and friendly as well, called to ask if we can get an early check-in and was happy to accommodate us.

Close to the old city and the train station, the hotel facilities are perfect and the service is good

We recently stayed here, the accommodation was ideal,we had a 2day break, it was close to the train station 10 min walk, our room was above the white horse pub but there was no noise in the evening it was quiet we had a lovely Outlook of the square and gardens,it was a 2-3 star hotel,ibut it clean,comfortable,with all the amenities and complimentary toiletries.it also included a cooked breakfast which was lovely, The staff was so friendly welcoming,and nothing was too much trouble, will definitely go back here again,a great stay thankyou very much 😀

The hotel environment is good, the room is big and the bed is comfortable

The interior decoration of this youth hostel is nice and the price is relatively affordable. Because there are many tourists in York on weekends, the beds are limited. I reluctantly booked a mixed room for 6 people, but I was unlucky because I seemed to be the only woman in the room, and there was a man who snored loudly, talked to himself, and got up at 3 o'clock in the morning and turned on the light, which made the sleeping experience very bad. It should be noted that the toilet and bathroom in this youth hostel are very small and are shared by 6 people in the room, not the kind of shared on the same floor, which is very inconvenient.

The hotel is right in front of the cathedral, the location is very central, and Diagon Alley is also within walking distance, which is not convenient for parking. 7.8 minutes after walking the street one night behind the parking lot is okay, parking during the day is very expensive. Welcome to us is a very old-fashioned British gentleman, introduced the room for 10 minutes, and encountered the butler-style service for the first time.

The positives were the lovely building and the staff, especially Ewan who helped me with the coffee machine as there were no instructions. Lovely fresh towels and comfy bed. Great location. The negatives were that it really needs a good clean,sofa and carpet were dirty and it looked like blood on a wall! 4 coat hangers with no drawers to put your stuff in and we were there for 3 nights so ended up hanging my dresses on a fan. No fridge in room and disposable plastic tumblers. Heating is pre set so comes on when they want it too. Had to climb up 4 flights of stairs so not good if you have mobility problems. Wine on arrival did not exist! Have gave it 3* for the history and the building.

I often stayed in such B&Bs when I was in school, but rarely stayed in them after I started working. I was a little uncomfortable. But within the scope of B&Bs, the room was nice, the internet was fast, and the breakfast was good.

Comfortable, free parking, good service, good breakfast! Pay attention to the bathroom is relatively thin, foreign water pressure is relatively fine!

My wife and I were staying overnight in York and stayed at this hotel. Everything was so seamless, check in, showed to our room which was a pleasant change. The room was more than adequate for one night, instant Wi-Fi was available too. We had a dinner reservation and both opted for the “roast”. It was a delicious meal and dome of the best roast beef I have ever had. A good selection of vegetables were available as well. My wife had the “figgy” pudding whilst I opted for the best crème brûlée I have ever had. We were served by Nicole who was so helpful throughout. Good choice of breakfast this morning after a lovely “rainwater” shower in the bathroom. It’s not cheap but you really do get what you pay for. We have stayed here on three occasions in the past but not for a few years. We would not hesitate in coming back here.
