"Our stay was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The location is perfect, making it easy to explore everything Chester has to offer, and the hotel itself is both comfortable and welcoming. The room was spotlessly clean, well presented, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. What really stood out was the service, we found the staff to be incredibly friendly, attentive, and always happy to help, which made us feel genuinely valued as guests. The little touches throughout our stay made it extra special, and we left feeling refreshed and very well looked after. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Chester."
"Lovely fully equipped apartment. Was surprised to see such a gem just 5 mins away from the city centre. Endless supply of coffee, hot chocolate and water from the reception, and fresh Croissant provided for breakfast.
This can be for long or short stays as it has all required kitchen equipment. The air conditioner works really well, iron, ironing board, a safe for keeping items, and multiple wall socket points.
Parking is £10 overnight and wifi with good strength.
A study/work table is also available .
Truly loved it and can't wait to stay here again"
"The Mill Hotel & Spa is in an ideal location, just 5 minutes walk from Chester train station and the centre of Chester itself. So, what is a stay in this hotel like?
I stayed in the Business Class Double room with a view of the canal. The room is a fair size, with the king size bed being very comfortable and clean. A big drawback for the room, however, is the lack of air conditioning facilities available. I stayed at the end of July, and whilst the outside wasn’t hot, the room itself was stuffy and opening the window didn’t really help too much. I can’t imagine what it would be like staying here in during a heatwave, which is becoming more common!
The room also comes with decent tea and coffee making facilities, along with a desk for working. The bathroom is a good size, but it could do with a bit of cleaning. There are two shower nozzles - the smaller standard nozzle was fine but the rainfall shower nozzle was extremely dirty. It looks like it hasn’t been used in a while - and I’d recommend not using that particular shower if you stay here. The extractor fan vent is also very dusty and obviously hasn’t been cleaned in a while!
Over to the spa facilities - they are nothing short of exceptional. This is the real draw when staying here, with the swimming pool and sauna being to an excellent standard. Use of the swimming pool and gym is free to all guests whilst staying here, so make good use of the facilities!
I opted for the inclusion of breakfast during my stay, and I’d say it was ok rather than great. The amount of food available isn’t huge, though the likes of the croissants and cooked breakfast are to a good standard.
As the hotel is in need of an update - it firmly feels like it’s stuck in the mid noughties - the hotel does excel in the standard of service provided to its customers. Whether that be from the cleaners, the reception staff or the waiting staff, everyone is smiling and friendly. It makes all the difference! Would I stay here again? Yes, I would. I hope they do update the rooms soon enough - they really do need air conditioning! And I also hope the bathrooms were thoroughly cleaned a little more. But everything else was to a good standard and for the price paid (£90 for two people with breakfast and spa facilities included), you can’t find much better than that!"
"Stayed here recently for 5 days. Fantastic experience here. Staff are unbelievably helpful. Didn’t get all the names of staff but Dave in particular was extremely helpful and went out of his way to ensure a couple of parking issues were sorted immediately. The car parking situation is the only real issue I would have with the hotel as it is a small car park and spaces are on a first come basis but this would definitely not deter me from returning. Rooms are excellent, spotless clean.Easy 10 minute walk into town and nice walkways along the canal which runs alongside the hotel. If you don’t want a noisy awakening around 6.30am from the gym music below stay away from the first floor rooms, although this didn’t bother us at all as we were happy to be up early"
"My husband had a broken bone in his leg we where booked a room on the first floor. When he saw us he arranged for our room swap, offered us tea and coffee whilst we waited for this to be arranged. All staff were very professional and courteous offering to take our bags to the room. We will plan another trip as we were unable to use the facilities."

"Checking in at the main Oddfellows hotel was smooth but it would have helped to have the exact address of the apartment in advance, so we could park more easily. There is one parking space at the apartment but it is a tight entrance!
Apartment 5 was upstairs and very spacious. The lounge/kitchen/diner was well set up and the tea and coffee available was very welcome. Bedrooms and bathrooms were large, comfy and clean (but could do with a few hooks for towels or coats). There is even a laundry room. Decof is quirky and the location is great - just off the main streets. Fabulous place to stay."
"The hotel is in a good location and you can reach nearby attractions on foot. The room is small, and the only window is only about 40cm wide and covered with film, which is a bit depressing. For breakfast, I had to stand in line for more than 20 minutes even though I had reserved a seat the day before, which was very annoying, probably because it was the weekend. Everything else was satisfactory."
"When I used the pool it was virtually empty. I love that it was open until 9pm as it meant I could swim after a long day out.
The room was big and spacious. Only downside is the shower wasn't great, there wasn't much power and the water was too hot. Could have done with having air con or even a fan as it got quite hot in the night.
Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay"
"I absolutely loved this hotel, so clean, friendly staff and yummy breakfast! Walking distance to all the lovely bars and restaurants too! Would definitely stay here again :)"

Very Good
CChaxiang6This is a treasure hotel discovered during my trip to England. If you go to Chester, don’t miss this unique British scenery. A family of three stayed in two executive rooms, which were beautifully decorated and spotless, showing that the management level and service standards are unambiguous. Regardless of the hotel's location, facilities, guest rooms, catering and services, it is impeccable, first-class, and very cost-effective. It is the best choice in Chester.
The beautiful old Chester, a low-key and luxurious British-style hotel, is deeply impressive and unforgettable, and I hope to return.
GGuest UserA little piece of heaven! The room was very comfortable, well designed and with lovely nautical features throughout. On arrival, parking was excellent, friendly helpful staff, within minutes we were sat by the window, overlooking the fast flowing river, being entertained by the wildlife whilst enjoying a well earned drink after a nearly three hour drive! Location was perfect, breakfast, a joy! A birthday treat for my special girl which couldn't of been better, we will return.
GGuest UserExcellent service from reception when we arrived to Raffael in the bar/restaurant and all the other staff were helpful and cheerful.
Food was excellent, we had a full meal one night and bar snacks the following night and everything was tasty and well presented.
GGuest UserReception greeting was very friendly and we were looked after well.
Big TV with screen sharing for film / TV watching was great.
Excellent location.
AAndrewCheck in was very easy and hassle free with three members of staff checking guests in. We arrived well before check in time of 15:00hrs but no early check in rooms were available so we had to return later to check in.
Room size was adequate with comfy bed and quality pillows ensuring good rest.
Hotel is very clean and is well staffed, only downside is the location that its not walking distance to the city centre but this is not a deal breaker due to parking at this hotel being a lot easier on the outskirts of the city centre.
GGuest UserAs a big fan of Premier Inns I felt this one wasn't up to their usual standard. Beds always very comfortable but the bedding wasnt adequate, slightly ill-fitting. Also the room was cold and the air con set to high did not work. The TV also did not work in our room, aerial connection was cited aa the reason on-screen.
On a lesser and more personal note, i like the scrambled eggs option in the morning but only fried eggs were offered at breakfast.
GGuest UserGym is great, swimming pool is very shallow, so safe for everyone. Saunas in each changing room which was cool. Room was good size and clean and receptionists were very helpful. Breakfast was included in mine which I didn't realise and it was great, lots of choice.
Llilythe service apartment is clean. It is close to the city centre. The rooms are big and comfortable. The kitchen is nice. I am sure that I will book this hotel again and highly recommend to my friends.
GGuest UserThis is a very traditional hotel. It has a very good leisure centre (so don’t forget your swim suit).
The hotel has a large bar area which is very comfortable and the prices reasonable.
There is a large free car park.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
